Nice size place and clean. A great big porch to enjoy coffee in the morning. Brought our boat and kept it in the covered boat dock. Just walk down the sidewalk and get on your boat. Two minute ride to get gas for the boat. Its centrally located to everything the lake has to offer. We were allowed to bring our dogs, which is a plus. Has washer and dryer as well as everything you need in the kitchen. It is exactly as it is pictured. I would absolutely recommend and we will be back again. Jim & Jen

Propert had everything we needed! Was clean and waterfront. Kids wnjoyed canoe! We brought our own kayaks and paddle boards which they loved!

-The property shows well on the website but is very underwhelming. Property states that it can house 12 guests but it shouldn’t allow more then 8. The dock is very shallow and cannot be used for swimming which was stated in the listing. You must rent a boat otherwise you won’t be able to enjoy the lake. Unfortunately you have to drive your own trash out to the public recycling center which is a 3 minute drive but annoying. The furniture is old and needs replaced. The dining table only has 5 chairs so that was very small for two families. This is a double wide trailer and feels like it, the porch helps a bit but not enough. The A/C only cools down in the late evening and early morning and won’t get below 79 during the day. Unfortunately we cut our trip one day short because there was an infestation of cockroaches in the kitchen. Lisa the owner did call pest control and he came to spray that same day. As a result, the roaches were active and started to come out during the day and were all over the kitchen floors and countertops, we were killing about 3-4 every hour. It was very disgusting, Lisa the owner refunded me only $300 but should have refunded me atleast half the cost of the rental. We saw roaches every day from the time we arrived until the day we left. I thought I had found a good deal and wanted to save some money while on vacation but now I know you get what you pay for.

Renting was easy and home owner was very accommodating to our requests to arrive early and leave late. Very quiet and peaceful location. Be sure to bring your own fun because if it’s not bodying weather there really isn’t much to do.

House was perfect for a stay with my 86y/o mom with master bathroom big enough for walker. Outside porch with fan perfect for breakfast and dinner. Pottery & other cool decorations used to decorate were beautiful and added a very upscale touch. Owners obviously did a lot to upgrade outside. As described and emphasized in correspondence with owner dock does not allow access to water unless you have a boat. We had other relatives close by whose rental had an amazing dock with swimming and kayak access so this was not important to us. We would definitely return.

Had a great stay, home was everything that it was advertised as, owner is awesome to deal with. Recommend this property very highly especially for boat owners, boat was in the water all week. 100 ft walk to the boat dock was awesome.

The dock area was very shallow for our 21 foot inboard SeaRay. The entire house smells musty/ wet basement smell that was significant. The outside covered porch was very nice. This is a three bedroom house/ the twin bed is in the mud room/entrance and is not a bedroom. Kitchen is well stocked.

Clean and spacious we rented a boat from Holly Grove and enjoyed the lake and easily docked at the boat house and enjoyed the tunnel of love, a great stay...

Our family enjoyed our stay in Lisa's house at Lake Gaston. Lisa was very attentive to our communications both before and during our stay. It may be a modular house, but it has some nice additions and updates like the large screened in porch and master bath. Our only regret is we didn't appreciate better how difficult it would be to access the lake from the the property. We ended up driving a half hour to a public access area to enjoy and swim in the lake because we were only able to rent a boat for one day. It was nice having the canoe and kayaks, but we found getting in and out of them at the dock quite challenging. The photos made it seem like there was some shoreline for this, but there wasn't. Nevertheless, we had an enjoyable and relaxing stay. We sat by the fire pits, enjoyed wine and cheese at Rosemount, played in the lovely yard, and soaked up some sunshine. Will likely return, but definitely recommend bringing your boat or finding a multi-day rental.

This property provided a very nice stay on Lake Gaston.

Overall property was terrific. Some dust/spider webs when we got there. Sheets were clean and ready to put on the beds we used. Towels clean and available. Fire pits ready to use. Only thing I found needing was a kitchen hand mixer for mashing potatoes/brownie batter. If ever back in area will use again.

The family enjoyed the week...boating...beautiful weather...the porch adds so much to the property.

Lovely setting. Convenient access to the lake. Home well kept up. Everything we needed. Might want to warn future renters about difficulty in navigating a pontoon boat under the bridge.

We had a lovely time. The rental was exactly as promised, a very good value. Having a boat dock so we could have a boat rental all week was as fun as we hoped! The heads up on the narrow bridge was appreciated :) The back porch and fire pit were wonderful gathering spaces for our family’s low country boil and s’mores. You can tell that the owners have put in a lot of effort to maintain the landscaping. The lot was beautiful and the porch chairs were very comfy. My only concern was the musty smell inside. Maybe we were the first to use the property this year. The owners were friendly and very helpful.

This property was exactly what we needed. A pretty home with a fantastic yard tucked away in a little cove on the Virginia side of Gaston

When we arrived, one of the first things we noticed was that the DirectTV did not work in the living room. We contacted the owner and tried some troubleshooting, but nothing worked. She had a new cable box delivered to us — it arrived the afternoon before we left. The next thing we found out was that the beach area and pool nearby was closed due to Covid 19. The owner said she removed it from the listing, but it was there when we booked the house. That was one of the reasons we decided to book the house. All 9 of us (5 being kids) were very disappointed about this. This should have been communicated better to us. Next, while making dinner, we realized the microwave didn’t work. I tried to soften a stick of butter, and gave up after 2 minutes. Also, my definition of a fully stocked kitchen and the owner’s are VERY different. The kitchen was seriously lacking. We couldn’t even find a bowl with a lid to store leftovers! Our stay in Bracey, VA was a HOT one! We soon realized that the AC did not keep up. Even the days that we were gone all day and everything was closed up. We actually had to go out and buy a fan. There was one there, but we needed two, especially for the girls who slept in the “mud room”. The listing said that the mud room was recently converted to a bedroom. I guess if you stick a bed in a room it magically turns it into a bedroom. Lastly, we were kind of freaked out by the “hidden” camera in a birdhouse on the path that led down to the dock. We found another one on the front of the house. I realize when you live far from your rental property, you need to be able to keep an eye on things. However, legally I believe that is supposed to be disclosed to the renters. So after all that, I feel like I should say some positive things about the house...The beds were very comfortable, we never lacked for hot water, the covered porch and the fire pit area were very nice, and the lake was beautiful. That being said, we will definitely come back to Lake Gaston, but we will stay somewhere else.

Our family had a great time. The house was spacious & clean. The lake & neighborhood were beautiful & quiet. We spent our days on the lake and evenings on the beautiful back porch. So happy the place is dog friendly too! The WiFi was good as well. We'll definitely be returning!

In spite of four days of heavy rainfall, we had a wonderful time. Beds were comfortable, house is spacious, covered porch is extra living space with room for 8 around the table. Catch and release fishing off the dock was a hit with the kids. Well stocked and clean.

We enjoyed our time at the lake. Property was nice. It is good if you have a boat or kayak. The canal isn't deep enough to jump in.

The location was great for us. We loved the seclusion of where the house is and the neighbors which are on one side only were very friendly. Large back deck was very relaxing. We also enjoyed the master bedroom being on the other side of the house than the other bedrooms. Good view, but not the best, but the price makes up for it especially since it is waterfront so you have direct access to the lake. We had to take our dogs with us and they enjoyed the deck and property. Very family, pet, and vacation friendly

I took my family on our yearly get together to Lake Gaston this year & we were truly impressed with this house. Not only did it have enough space for us to all (7+2 kids) to fit & sleep comfortably but we could have fit many more. The property was well maintained & we played out in the large yard with the kids all afternoon when we weren't taking out their new pontoon boat that drives like a dream out on Lake Gaston. The easy to use firepit at night was incredible to have some catch up time & look up at the non-light polluted sky to see the stars. All the little extras like cleaning supplies, sheets, cooking equipment was all there & easy to find. We found a few great local restaurants to eat at and a grocery store that's a little far (20 minutes) to get everything else we needed. I would definitely stay here again & I thank the owner for letting us spend some time there.

Our two families 4 adults, 4 children, met at this super cute and cozy cottage. We were very comfortable, plenty of room, nice and private, and the pontoon was key! We would recommend it to anyone looking for real down time with the family, it truly was perfect for what we intended to do. Only thing that we noticed, was the pool is a bit of a walk with a main road to cross, and the internet service was poor, and phone service was fair. Our family would rent here again and again!!!

Don't rent! Beware- nothing works and owner has a horrible attitude! We get there and WIFI is not working! Something I made sure that worked prior to going since I had to work remotely. We informated the owner Lisa- who starts to blame us! She told us that we must have done something to it. We walked in and tried to connect- we did nothing-the repair guy game and said this was moved--and router was bad- he explained there is no way we could connect- I tried to explain this to the owner as she proceeded to tell me this was our fault- she told me that the repair guy would have no idea it the router was moved that he had never been there. Funny the repair guy walked right up to the spot it was in her house- The boat did not work- we again. Were blamed for it! We were told we don't know what to do- (yet I have been on boats since I was 10, ski on a ski team and everything) after this she told us of a second boat- that boat would not go in reverse- again she blamed on us! The boat repair guy came out and said these were issues the owner is very aware of! He knew what was wrong with the boats- I explained this to the owner who said she has never met the repair guy before and I was lying ! Funny his cards were In her house! We had no boat all week-the firpit does not work- no cell service- wifi finally I spoke to the owners (ex)? who said he had trouble with the boats- the owner goes on to tell me he is lying he has not been there! Once again she fusses at me- and ask me! Why are you calling me on your vacation bothering me! She says there is a pool down the road use it! Really ! She then tried to tell me that I had more cars and people there then I told her- I took pictures of everything! Documented this all! I took pictures of the wrong wifi info she gave us! Pictures of the cars there- of the boats- of the repair guy being there since this lady is a true nut Job! Worse vacation ever!! I Will post all information to anyone that wants to see it! I took pictures of her labels on the house all spelled wrong! "Owners closit" don't rent from Her or any of lisa Freedmans properties- worse vacation ever!! A true nightmare! I plan on posting everything because people need to be aware of this con Artist! She acted so crazy I had to ask her "are you on drugs" !! Stay far far far away from this property people!!!!! Keep your money! No door knobs on bathroom- a sock instead! I can't wait to hear her lies on us! The neighbors helped us and told us issues!

Hi, thanks, we had great time, family time out on the way taking my son back to Duke, the boat made it possible to be on the lake most of the day swimming, fishing, and even using the jetski was cool because the boat acted as an Island on the lake, we would love to be back next summer if available

The house is warm and welcoming. The 4 bedrooms are beautifully furnished, the beds so comfortable! We especially loved sitting on the huge covered deck off the living room. It feels as if you are in a tree house. There is ample storage and everything one could need is provided. There are two large cleverly done bathrooms with awesome showers. We were thrilled that use of pontoon boats was included in the package We enjoyed fun times on the gorgeous lake. The yard that leads to the lake has Been artistically landscaped with a fire pit and a cement walk all the way to the boat dock. There is even a little patio sitting area in the front.We were extremely pleased and satisfied with the home and boat! We will definitely book this property again!

6 nights lake vacation on our way from New York to North Carolina driving our son back to school, 7 of us, plenty of room, spacious and comfortable, lake is huge, water is warm, tons of fish - not much around but we are all about home cooking and BBQ and the house is well equipped for that, only neg. was the lack of phone reception ( did not bother me t all but the kids where going crazy without their phone ) we will be back, using the boat was a great replacement to the phone reception as we spent hours on and in the water vs. internet surfing - the is a hot spot internet service in the house. thanks Lisa.
