A wonderful property and gardens - generously sized (bigger than the pictures suggest), clean and well equipped, including aircon. We had a wonderful stay - lazy days spent by the pool, BBQs in the evening, 25 min walk into town (local intermarche is v good). Excellent management team - friendly and fast to respond. 100% Recommended.

This fabulous house was the perfect place for us to discover a new holiday destination, one that I am sure we will return. Everything about the stay from the moment we arrived until we left was great. The house was immaculate along with the outside space and the location gave easy access into St Rémy De Provence, either by car or on foot.
Cannot recommend enough both as a home and a holiday location for a family.

A delightful stay. Bedrooms and bathrooms good, lovely pool and an easy 15 min walk into St Remy.

We spent a wonderful few weeks at the property with a revolving cast of friends, family and a baby for good measure.
Everything was in keeping with that advertised and shown here. The town itself is about a fifteen minute walk away (or a very short drive if anyone has the misfortune of missing out on the wine) and has plenty to offer. If staying in, there is plenty of facility to cook in large numbers and both indoor and outdoor the property is a lovely space to wind down and enjoy time with loved ones.
Martin, the host, and the staff who act on his instructions, were all extremely warm, efficient and helpful to deal with. There were a couple of occasions during the trip where we either couldn't find something or were unsure what to do and Martin responded extremely quickly and with no fuss.
Overall, I could not really be more positive and would recommend to anyone interested in spending some time in the South of France.

We had a wonderful month at Mas Aurelia. We retired about a year ago and the property was terrific for hosting family and friends who came to visit. (Part of the month, we enjoyed it on our own without guests.) The property is spacious and modernized. We were there during a heat wave, and the pool and A/C were essential. We cooked on site a number of times and used some of the herbs that grow on site. The host was very responsive with respect to the very few (and minor) problems that arose. Mainly, we just asked Martin informational questions. St Remy is a great base from which to explore surrounding cities and villages (we put 2500km on the rental car). St Remy is walkable - about a mile away. We would certainly return.

We spent two weeks in Martin's amazing house, just a short walk from the magical town of Saint Remy de Provence. The house is spacious and well appointed, with everything one might need to be super comfortable. There were six of us, and we had ample room to spread out and be on a proper vacation. Tastefully decorated and with a cleaning on the Saturday, the experience exceeded the VRBO description. The grounds, the grill, the pool, and the privacy provide an oasis for the perfect family vacation. We will definitely be returning to Martin's house for future holidays in Provence!

We loved the property. Everything was smooth. We were happy we had a house so close to Saint Remy. We would recommend this property to others.

Our 2nd time visiting Martin's property albeit with a 5 year gap in between. This is a home not just a rental property. The bedding, furnishings (indoor and out), pool and grounds are all top notch. With any property, location is one of our top priorities and Mas Aurelia is a 10 out of 10. You can walk the canal path or roads to get to St Remy in about 15 minutes (market day is Wednesday), walk to the Roman ruins of Glanum or St Paul Asylum (where Van Gogh stayed and painted) in about the same amount of time. We hiked out the front door into the Alpilles for some magical views and rented e-bikes in town for a great day of biking around Provence. Further afield is Arles, the hill towns of the Luberon and Aix. We highly recommend this vacation home to experience life in Provence. Thank you for letting us stay in your home again, Martin!

We loved our week at this house in Saint Remy. It's just the right combination of charming and modern, and the exterior grounds are dripping with classic French atmosphere. Much thanks to Martin and his great manager, Mado!

St. Remy is lovely and has good restaurants - all in all, a great vacation

We had such a good time in this beautiful place! The size of the villa is ample for privacy for a large group. We took our three grown-up sons and partners and it was perfect.
Very comfortable accommodation with heaps of kitchen equipment and crockery plus a great BBQ, lovely pool area, private gardens with lots of room for parking.
A 30 minute stroll into St Remy centre can be done along the canals or roads and it’s well worth the walk to enjoy the beautiful town.
Thoroughly recommend a stay here.

What a wonderful place to stay for a week. We were 5 friends who enjoyed our stay immensely. The house was so well fitted out and the pool was a godsend in the heat. Thank you Martin.

Excellent stay at this comfortable house!
We very much enjoyed staying at this house and would be happy to come back. After two weeks there, it felt like it had become our own house (sorry, Martin!)!
The house is well equipped and very functional. We cooked a lot during our stay, since we love shopping at the Provence markets. Except for a blender (maybe it was there but we did not find it), the house had every kitchen equipment we needed and a great, big fridge to hold our kilos of cheese and produce!
The bedrooms are all very comfortable, and so are the bathrooms. The pool is great and we spent many afternoons relaxing in it. Note, though, that there is no handrail to go in, so it is not suitable for people with mobility issues.
The conciergerie service was excellent. Mado was punctual, friendly, and very efficient. Jacques, the pool maintenance person/gardener was also very friendly. We had a small issue arise at the end of our two weeks when one of the electrical fuses had a short circuit -this was taken care of very quickly with super efficient communication between the owner and his local caretakers. Again, great service.
Saint-Remy is a perfect location from where to visit the many sites of Provence and Luberon. This is a perfect house to use as a base from which to tour -and then as a home to rest from all the touring.
Merci for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful country house in Provence
We stayed for a week at this beautiful house on the outskirts of St. Remy. The house, the pool and the grounds were wonderful--spacious rooms, comfortable beds, a large eat-in kitchen with a separate dining room. The check in and check out process with done in person; we had great communication with the owner.
Would highly recommend staying here.

A Perfect Stay
Everything was wonderful - much better than we could have expected.
When we got back after a full day of touring neighboring towns, lounging near the pool was the perfect refreshment. The house is very well equipped with ample supplies (I.e. wine glasses and small plates). I hope we will be able to return soon.

Simply Magnifique!
I could write a novel, but I will start by saying that I am not one to repeat a trip typically because I want to see (and stay) in different places, but I would come back to Martin’s home in a heart beat. From our first to last communication, and especially through such unique circumstances with COVID, Martin was excellent in communications, quick to respond, and very fair and flexible given the unpredictable nature of travel.
Pro:
The house is magnificent. Great location, extremely clean, beautifully decorated and filled with everything you could possibly need for meals, poolside grazing and libations.
The pool house in our case was great for my mom to have her own slave away from our kids overnight.
Room for improvements:
The pool umbrella seems to be broken. Luckily it was open, but it could not be secured in place which was an obstacle with a baby who needed to stay out of the sun. Should be an easy fix.
There is a wasp problem in the region to be aware of because they come to the pools to drink the water. Upon arrival it was bad enough that we couldn’t use the pool, especially with children. But again, Martin with extremely fast to respond and he had someone come out to try and help dilute the problem. It got mildly better, enough that we could carefully use the steps. But this is also something to note - the pool is all one depth, and it’s deep. So if you are with small children just be aware that for anyone who isn’t tall, you will need to help young ones swim only on the steps.
It would have been very helpful to speak better French as communication with the property manager was quite difficult. She was very very kind, but a miscommunication from the start had us wasting 2 hours before check in, and then waiting at the house for 30 minutes for her to arrive. After long travel and with small kids that was not ideal. The walk through could have been more helpful ex: show us how the air conditioning works, for example. We had no idea there were remote controls, and after reading the warning on the listing to not mess with the hall unit we didn’t want to touch anything, so without realizing it, we spent most of the week without AC in very hot weather. My daughter was playing with a remote she found and that’s how we discovered it. The unit in the pool house works well but it is extremely loud, so cannot be used if you are a light sleeper.
All in all a fantastic home and host and we would highly recommend!

We had a lovely stay at this property, it's well equipped and well located in a lovely part of Provence. We had a particularly hot spell during our stay, and the advertised "Aircon" system was woefully inadequate. (I believe the system is actually more of a fresh air circulation system than a true aircon system, which probably explains why it couldn't cope with the conditions).Communications with both the owner and the concierge service were excellent.

Superb!
Start to finish we had a wonderful time in this superb villa. Blessed with excellent weather we spent so much time in and around the pool or enjoying al fresco dining late into the evening. Martin was incredibly communicative and helpful as was everyone connected, all smiles and so welcoming. St Remy is just a short walk and a real gem of a place whether night or Wednesday Market or just anytime of the day. Glanum roman ruins are just a short walk as is the more impressive "Van Gogh" asylum. Les Baux is a few minutes by car and well worth the effort of leaving the villa. Saddest moment was in leaving but will not hesitate to return. Thank you everyone involved.

A lovely, big, house, with pool, as described
The description on HomeAway was absolutely fair. The owners greeted us very nicely on arrival, and kept in touch by text message. We stayed for a multi-generational week, with six adults, two children aged eight and four, and a twelve-month old baby. It was perfectly suitable for this number, as expected. The kitchen was well-equipped. Family meals on the patio, including barbecues, were delightful, including eating ripe grapes off the overhanging vines. There is a big supermarket ten minutes away by car. We believe it sometimes has short opening hours on Sunday. The living room was a grand space, and well-equipped with, sofas, high and low tables, and, for example, a blue-tooth-enabled speaker system. The bedrooms were pleasant, and bathrooms good, and, again, well-equipped. The furnishings and decorations were stylish and, with a very few adjustments, eminently child-friendly, and baby-friendly. The pool, with its recliners, was a great hit. Otherwise there is not much garden, as is clear on the website.
I have given four stars for cleanliness primarily because the patio, where we ate every evening, inevitably had food dropped on it (Baby!), attracting creatures, and there was no easy way to clean it. Secondarily we had a fair number of little ants in the master bedroom/bathroom . We tackled them with the supplied killer spray, but Martin, or the concierge Isabelle (a pleasant lady) should try to eliminate them entirely - not easy, we appreciate.
As for four stars for ‘Location and Neighbourhood’, this is simply a reflection of the correctly advertised position of the property, which is suburban, and some distance from a boulangerie, cafe, restaurant, ice-cream shop, and so on.
Concerning the overall four stars, it was hot (34 degrees) though not as severe a heat-wave as will unfortunately increasingly be common, and while the air-conditioning in the main building was fine, that in the Mazet annex was not, even with the ceiling fan, and the door and shutters closed during the day; two adults and a baby were not quite comfortable. It is a pity, but I suggest that a mobile air-conditioning unit is necessary in there.

Lovely stay in Provence
Perfect stay in a most convenient location. House is large, well laid out, well equipped and just a short 15 minute walk from the Saint Rémy center. The garden and pool are very private and secluded, skinny dipping allowed here! The Weber barbecue was a staple of our stay and allowed us to take full advantage of the large outdoor table. The rosé bottles as welcome presents were a nice touch. Loved our stay. We'll do it again I'm sure. ;-)

A fabulous place to stay
A truly marvellous holiday home which lives up to the photos and reviews. The house is situated in a picture perfect town and natural park, with walking trails literally on the doorstep. The house was well equiped and had everything we needed for our stay, and Martin was a very responsive owner for the few questions we had.
I would not hesitate to recommend this property or its location to anyone who wishes to immerse themselves in Provencal culture and history.

We loved our stay at Martin’s house in St Remy this summer. We will do it again !
The house is very functional, cozy, good size rooms, full comfort and great decoration. Within a walking distance from town center shops and restaurants yet very quiet. The area also offers beautiful walks and sceneries. Our children have become Vincent Van Gogh fans ! Perfect for family and also with friends. The terrace by the pool, the sunshine and blue sky surrounded by trees combined to really goods and savory food (and a glass of « Rosé ») make it an unforgettable experience. An invitation to immerse into French art of living !

Perfect A to Z
Every aspect of the house is pleasant and effective; from the design to the execution. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room spacious, the pool deep enough, private, secure and well maintained. The outside dining area is a real pleasure and a standard every evening; its barbecue is wide and reliable. Rooms are well laid out to one side of the house and bedding is of high quality. We had a great time.

St. Rémy gem for privacy and relaxation!
The property has a great layout for enjoying with family and friends. Villa is well equipped with all you need during your stay. Location is perfect for walking to town and a short drive to explore the areas of Provence. Easy access from Marseille. The small town comes alive on Wednesday’s with an amazing farmers market. The owner was responsive to our needs.

We invited our best friends and our son to share this wonderful experience and were delighted.
The location is ideal. We could walk along paths to get to Glanum
an archeological site and the Van Gogh Hospital and the walk to town was also convenient. The pool was great and the layout suited us. Plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms.Loved the layout of the kitchen with the clothes washer right there and a great dining table.
Also well equipped which we took advantage of. Our only concern was the eco air conditioning which we resolved the European way. Keeping all the shutters closed during the day and then opening up the windows and a couple of sliding doors at night as it cooled down to 60degrees Fahrenheit even when it was 90 during the day. We would definitely rebook. So much more to see in this part of the world. We also used the gas grill and the dining area outside.Any questions we had were readily answered. We are all so grateful for this experience.

Absolutely fabulous. Provence at its best.
Although the reviews of Mas Aurelia were so positive that I was a bit skeptical, the praise is all justified. Our expectations were very high, but the villa and grounds were even better than we thought they would be and ideal for our needs. We were three generations of family, with three couples and a two year old. We loved the well-designed layout that afforded bedroom and bathroom space and privacy for everyone as well as very spacious public areas (living room, dining room and kitchen) that allowed everyone to be together comfortably for visiting, meals, etc. There are huge supplies of dishes, glassware, cutlery, etc. for every occasion. The large kitchen work area, and full size appliances, permit easy at home meal prep. And the decoration was classic, and classy, Provençal. Simple but elegant.
The grounds much larger and more private than we had expected. In the lovely outdoor dining area or lounging around the spectacular pool, you would think you were in the middle of nowhere, yet outside the gates you are an easy walk or bike ride to delightful St. Remy and the Glanum ruins and a 30-45 minute drive to some of our favorite places in Provence. Everyone in our party wished we could have stayed longer and would love to return in the future. Thank you, Martin, for sharing this lovely piece of paradise.

Lovely and confortable home !
We loved our stay in this lovely home! The property is very well located on the edge of the city (You can even walk to the city center) and close to the wonderful "Alpilles Natural Regional Park". The house is large, very luminous, well equipped and maintained and furnished with a nice "Provence" taste. The garden is big and quiet. "Aperitif" around the large pull is a must!... Can't wait to go back.....

Exceeded all expectations
What an absolutely beautiful property. The pictures quite honestly do not do it justice. We were a group of 3 couples staying here for a week in late September. The flow of the house was great for our group, and the amenities were great. Thanks to the owner, Martin, for the nice rose wine that awaited us on arrival! We made full use of the pool and loungers every afternoon after a day of touring around. We were able to walk into the centre of St. Remy in about 20 minutes (hint: if you want to largely avoid the roads when walking to town, there is a footpath along the Canal des Alpines which you can pick up a few hundred feet down the road from the house. You should be able to see it on Google Maps). There are GR trails starting very close to the house, and a highlight was the hike up to the Rocher des Deux Trous (Rock with Two Holes) high in the Alpilles. I'd highly recommend a stay at Mas Aurelia.

Comfortable and Convenient
Avery nice house with easy access to Saint-Remy and well positioned for visiting the many beautiful towns and villages in the region. Comfortable beds, a nice pool with chaise-longues (and a hammock!), and extra privacy for two in the pool house. Two of the rooms share a bath, but there is an extra W/C next door so it really isn't a problem even for unrelated travellers.
Our little group has rented several houses in France and Italy and this was definitely on of the best.

We enjoyed our stay very much!
Mas Aurelia worked perfectly for our family of 7 adults plus a 21 month old. They also
have a crib which was very helpful. The location was excellent (once we found it). Use
google maps, not car GPS. Close to St. Remy, markets, and town center. The rooms are spacious and all the kitchen appliances worked well. We loved eating out on the patio
especially once the weather cooled down a bit.
Three highlights while staying there besides attending a family wedding. The Wednesday
market in St. Remy, Carriere Luminiere in Les Baux, and the theatre in Orange (all fairly
close by).
My husband and I never met Isabella (the property manager) but Martin (the owner) was
most cordial. Isabella did arrange a transfer for us back to the Avignon train station which
worked well.
