Outdated and needs a cleaning. Cabinets too small for dishes and would not close. A rat ran across the sidewalk in front of the door

Studio room is the perfect size for a couple staying 2-3 nights. Small functional kitchen, comfortable Murphey bed. In a perfect location -quiet, relaxing off of the main drag. But a short walk away. A short walk to the Beach, to the restaurants.
We love Del Mar, no tacky souvenir shops.
I wasn't dissapointed with any part of our stay.

Didn't like the tight bathroom vanity area nor walking around the couch from one side of the bed to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

the pool and grounds were pretty except on glass piece at the pool was broken an hindered the ocean view
our bathroom had an opening in the ceiling to a light and about 3 inches of dust residing up there, if you are tall and stay in a studio your feet will be up against a concrete wall so you will not be able to stretch out

Wavecrest is in the best location in all of Del Mar. Right on the water and within walking distance of many great restaurants.

No breakfast but I’m sure it was because of Covid. The staff was exceptional and very helpful.

Great location! Everything is walkable.
The property is just older. It is clean and no major issues. But, for example the windows were really hard to open and close. No AC so it was stuff when we closed it up to leave for the day. But the breeze was nice when we opened it up. The Studio was pretty small but we didn’t spend much time in the room so it was fine. I would recommend, even for a couple to get the 1 bedroom if you intend to be in the room a lot. Which, you should be. The location is fabulous. The pool view is great, but the jacuzzi was dirty when we checked it out.
