We invited my nephew and his family to visit us on San Juan but our circumstances changed and I needed to find alternate housing for them. Having them in the Open Bay Beach was the perfect answer. They had a fabulous time and take away great memories of their visit.

The location really can't be beat. The beach is at your door, and its lovely. Convenient to Wescott, Roche, Lime Kiln, Mount Young and Grant, and the Alpacas. Town is just twenty minutes. One oddity: there were just four of us so the upstairs bathroom layout wasn't an issue. However, if there were another couple in the second bedroom upstairs, they would have to pass through the other upstairs bedroom when gong to use the bathroom. Should be a hallway with a door into the main bedroom. Great place though!

Beautiful location and wonderful house with a lot of room. The deck overlooking the water was absolutely unbeatable and being able to take steps down to the shoreline was really nice. Very relaxing!!

Beautiful property, location, scenery. It was around 90 degrees the first 2 days and i asked about a fan. I told property management i would have to go to ACE and buy a box fan myself, they never responded or offered to bring one, therefore we bought a $50 box fan. The water pressure in the showers is amost null, to the point it needs attention. Pressure is good in sinks and toilets. Otherwise it was a lovely stay in every other way.

Lots of extra space and can easily accommodate 6 guests. There were only two of us, and for a couple of days 3 of us. Two levels made this very nice with just two, or more. very clean and everything was ready when we arrived, with easy instructions and check in. Beach is nice, gravel beach. Although there neighboring homes, we never saw anyone else. Easy access by short drives to Friday Harbor, and other parts of San Juan Island, including several very nice state parks. Suggest visiting the Lime Kiln state park, which also has a very nice whale watching overlook, with several picnic tables for lunch. Weather in May in Washington can be very rainy but our stay was very nice weather, only rained one day out of 8.

We had a fantastic time. The house was clean, well laid out and had the most spectacular views. It was awesome to just walk down a few steps to beach. Even though we shared the beach with the house next door, we had the place to ourselves and our kids could have played in the rocks and explored the tide pools for hours. We can’t wait to come back in the summer and enjoy the deck and sunnier weather!

This was my second trip to this wonderful home and it will not be my last. It’s just the perfect place. We celebrated another birthday this trip like we did on the first trip three years ago. All the amenities are available in this home. The best one is the beautiful view and peaceful setting💙 Coffee maker broke while we were there and received an immediate response to my email about replacing. Easy check-in and out. Till next time…

This beautiful property was right on the water with all the amenities provided to ensure a wonderful time for my family. The adults were very comfortable and the 3 teenage girls had their own room. The kitchen and bathrooms were very well stocked. We would love to stay again!

Home is nicely located away from the “busy” tourist areas. Location is quiet with amazing views. We felt as though we had that section of the island to ourselves. Clean, comfortable, and stocked with what you might need.

The property is exactly as described and really well maintained. We had a great time there and thoroughly enjoyed the beach. We'd definitely like to go back.

We were lucky that neither neighboring properties were occupied as they are very large and each could have had 10 people. The aerial photo currently being used does not show the new property next door which is very close. Overall a very comfortable home! Used only the downstairs bedroom which was large and fine but it only had a small double bed, could have used a larger bed here. It was great to have a bath with a tub and another bath upstairs with a shower!! Maybe could have used luggage racks. Also could have used detailed instructions on how to work the television and a better lamp in the living room. Thank you for letting us use this amazing house!

We were fortunate neighbors were not there making it very private. There are homes on both sides of the property now that the picture does not show. The home itself was comfortable. Lighting was challenging for reading at night. We brought this up with property management along with a few other issues that I'm sure will be easily addressed for future stays. This why I gave four stars for the first two questions.

We had a perfect short getaway staying at open bay. The house is perfectly situated on the beach with a private dock to enjoy the sunset. We saw a group of sea otters off the shore just like another reviewer said. The house was clean and comfortable and had more than enough seating for dinning and relaxing. They have a fireplace but it had a sign not for guest use, the only down side to the property for us, although it wasn’t quite fire season so we didn’t mind! We will for sure be coming back!

The private beach was amazing - our boys loved exploring the tidal pools and catching crabs. We saw otters, harbor seals and bald eagles. We also really enjoyed playing pickle ball. We never turned on the TV. Just a great place - the owners were very kind and we enjoyed visiting with them.

We did some great hikes on San Juan Island, including American Camp and Mt. Finlayson. We also ferried to other islands to explore. One of our favorite excursions was a half-day / sunset sailing trip through All Aboard Sailing - highly recommend. We left out of Friday Harbor, sailed around various islands and saw all sorts of wildlife - unfortunately, we did not see any whales. Maybe next time.

Our whale Watch with Maya Legacy’s which we have used many times in the past did not disappoint. Although it was a chilly week we couldn’t have asked for a nicer vacation.

The house fully met our needs for 4 adults and 2 children. The little beach and dock were fantastic for kayaking and paddle boarding. The deck was great. The views, particularly at sunset, were amazing.

We had the best time at the beach house. Perfect location and the view was unreal. First time to visit San Juan Island and this house had everything we needed for my family of 4. Will definitely be back!

The location was great - felt private - and was still only 10 minutes from Roche harbor and maybe 2o from Friday Harbor. We brought our kayaks and it was so easy to walk them down to the private beach and explore the harbor. We had seals poking their heads up to say hi! The kids LOVED it. Although there are houses on either side we didn't see anyone at either place all week long. Just lots of deer. :) My son loved playing basketball on the court, and we explored tide pools at the houses private beach. It was a fantastic trip all around. We went out and played, explored, ate and hiked everyday and this was such a fantastic place to come back to. Highly recommend.
