The location was fabulous. The room had a beautiful view of the lake. The breakfast was excellent, such a wide range of options and everything was really fresh and delicious. The staff were really attentive and helpful. We will return.

We like the location of this hotel and the view, once we had the proper lake view we had booked, was spectacular

1. We had booked a Premium Lake View room. Although the lake was visible from the room, most of the view was of the roof of the lobby area 2. We were upgraded to a proper lake view room, apparently recently redecorated, but the lights did not work properly and could only be full on or full off such that e.g. there was no independent light switch for the bathroom. 3. The sliding door of the bathroom was heavy to close/open and the exit door did not close automatically and was on one occasion left open by housekeeping 4. We complained to the hotel staff on departure and were offered a bottle of red wine by way of apology, which took the edge of our dissatisfaction and the upgrade cost was not excessive but I feel that such a room should not be sold in such a 5 star hotel 5. It was very cold in the main bar area and lobby but this is inevitable because of the design and it is not often subzero in Suzhou!

The outdoor pool wasn’t available

The ship-shaped hotel is located right beside scenic Jinji lake and offers lake/city views. Buffet breakfast is extensive and was offered in the restaurant with great lake view. Staff were courteous. Pandemic-related health protocols were followed throughout my stay. Night-time views inside or outside the hotel are truly breathtaking. Also, I happened to have left some personal stuff after checking out. After contacting the hotel, they immediately sent my personal belongings to my indicated address. Although I was charged a minimum amount for courier service, I truly appreciate this courtesy extended to me by the hotel personnel. Shoutout to Ms. Amy Yuan for the assistance. :)

Although the hotel has an indoor pool, the outdoor pool was not available during my stay. That would have made the summer experience/stay complete.

We booked for one night only for a little staycation. Our criteria for choosing the hotel was their pools and before booking we had actually called to confirm that both their pools were open. However, upon arriving and completing the check-in formalities and paying for our stay upfront, when we asked about pool timings etc, we were informed that both pools were closed, because of heavy rains the previous day. I understand that weather conditions might cause the outdoor pool to remain closed but I cannot understand why the indoor pool was closed as well. More importantly the staff didn't feel the need to inform us that the facility was closed till specifically asked about it, and even then, they seemed least apologetic about the whole scenario. We proceeded to cancel our reservation and book a different hotel which actually had a perfectly functioning indoor pool.

Gym was great, pool, sauna, breakfast, staff, everything was really as expected. No disappointments. Breakfast selection was huge. The coffee at the lobby was good too.

I think 3pm is too late for a check-in but that might be cause of co-vid. Also, the bars shut quite early but the spa was open til 2am. That didn’t make a huge amount of sense to me. I know the spa is independent but still didn’t make sense. Especially as the bar was quite busy before it closed. Could be covid related. Otherwise, the jacuzzi was more of just a mini pool, and the decoration in the room was perhaps slightly in need of a touch up but could be nitpicking. Generally everything was good.
