This is a fantastic place to stay at if you want to celebrate a anniversary. Fantastic Villas with a perfect beach you just can dream of, the best at Zanzibar, and it is real. Very kind, amazing and helpful personal, top service and fantastic good food. The Chefs and restaurants are world class and could easily have a Michelin star. You really feel that you are taking care of. They make sure you get the best relaxing stay and experience. Even the Manager is showing up and make sure you have the BEST stay. You just don’t want to leave… We will absolute come back.

There is nothing to complain about and difficult to find anything you don’t like.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are huge and it feels like home. Beautifully located on the beach and what makes this hotel so special is the presence of the manager and the amazing staff! We have rarely felt as comfortable as we do here and we have never experienced such an attentive and present manager and we have stayed in many luxury hotels. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and eager. Our flight was postponed to very late, the Manager Tuan Thasleem Juhara knew that we had to do our checkout the next day and offered us a free late checkout including dinner! We were able to stay in our room until late, enjoy our last day to the fullest at the beach, watch the last sunset, have a shower in our room and enjoyed our last dinner with no rush and then checed out. Simply fantastic and so generous! From the staff at the reception, in the restaurant, bars, gardeners, room cleaners to the manager they are all great and go the extramile! Thank you all for doing such a great job and making us fall in love with you! You really miss these people when you leave this place! Hakuna Matata!

The Italian hotel next door is very noisy and a few guests of the Gold on the beach bring their own speakers and listen to loud music without considering the other guests. But it's not the fault of the Hotel Gold.

perfect location to relax on the premises but also seek out a little more action nearby. The staff at the kids club are very engaging and will play along with the kids. Excellent quality buffet and the standard for inclusive dining is very high.

Perhaps a little more concrete architecture on display than other more natural resorts but this was presented white washed, clean and the resort extremely generously proportioned for 76 rooms.

Beautiful long beach for swimming. there is no tide like on other beaches delicious food ,kindness personal,nice garden ,good and comfortable bed,they cleen good ,and make a bed and room twice time

food was absolutely exceptional. Kai, the Chef is really amazing. it was as if, everyday, we were invited in a "gastronomique restaurant", buffets were gorgeous, different each day, very delicate and tasty. He is really exceptional, and we did not expect such a wonderful food experience. staff is friendly, helpful, thanks to the General Manager , Tuan , who is everywhere and always there to make our stay an incredible experience. He has been very attentive to us all the time during our stay, as well as Anthony, his F&B manager. good singers in the evening, during dinner. although the hotel has 76 rooms, the staff makes you feel "at home" with a very personal and professional approach. Aisha at the reception was of great help. beach is very beautiful, you can swim there, unlike in the East Coast where we stayed before. see is "turquoise". there are plenty of room and deck chairs for everyone to rest , we did not use the swimming pool as we prefer to take advantage of the sea , but it is very large. we hope to be back in this wonderful place, where we stayed only 3 nights, it was not enough to enjoy the place, and the marvellous huge beach of white sand . (if you like to walk, turn left, you will see a small and charming "port" and the sea is more "turquoise" than in any other place.

The hotel is located on the best stretch of beach in zanzibar, not affected by high or low tides. Service is 5 star. The general manager tuan and his staff all make a tremendous effort in ensuring you get the best service possible. 5 star hotel, 5 star service, 5 star food, 5 star location.

Amazing stay !! There is no better Hotel in Zanzibar The amenities, the room, the food, the location and especially the staff, everything was perfect. There is no better location in Zanzibar, it's located in the northern part of the island which is much less affected by the tides than the rest of the island. Compare to the other hotels nearby, the Gold has THE best private beach, it's wide, clean, very well maintained and the deckchair are very confortable and spaced from one another. The room is great, the bed very confortable and the housekeeping will come twice a day, including at night to prepare your bed, set the mosquito net and spray it with repellent. Not once have we seen mosquitos in our room, a huge advantage for a peace of mind when traveling in Africa. The food at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and diner is just the best: savory, fresh, and the menu changes everyday. It's mentioned on almost every comment here and it does not disappoint. Definitely recommend to get half board or all inclusive. A huge plus : they use a particular mix to attract any bees, mosquitos, hornet.. outside of the restaurant, you won't be bothered there as well. The best part is yet the staff, amazing!! everyone is so genuine and kind its incredible. Huge thanks to Emanuel who maintains a breathtaking vegetable garden , he will be very happy to show you around. Latifah at the beach, Whadija at the restaurant, thank you so much. My wife and I stayed at Gold Zanzibar for 6 days for our honeymoon. Everything was amazing and beyond our expectations! The room was super clean, and the food was amazing. We also got two coupons for dinner and a massage as a gift for our wedding, which was very kind. But the reason, the resort will stay in our hearts forever, is the staff at the hotel. They were all so nice and really made us feel like at home. I would like to mention Jackson from the reception, who always helped us with the right answers and Issa from the restaurant who always welcomed us with smile and kindness. In the evening, the staff from towel center played beach volleyball with us, so we got an opportunity to meet and hang out with them. They were all so nice and helpful, especially Said who is funny and lovely guy with good sense of humour and best volleyball player! Staying and Gold Zanzibar was lovely experience.

We had a fantastic stay, the manager Tuan and his crew were amazing and very helpful. They always made sure we had everything we needed and were very professional and service minded. The food was excellent, both in taste and quality and a good variation. Good location next to the beautiful beach with the best sunsets on the island.

Staff do not remove towels from unused deck chairs by the pool. People think they can reserve a chair for whole day and disappear for 2 hours. Manager was extremely receptive to this feedback and pleased we raised it. Hot tub near the pool would be a nice addition. Renovation works were noisy during massage.

This hotel have overall a great and lovely personnel. Starting with the Manager up to the guys who playing volleyball or being the service personnel in the restaurant. The beach and ocean is beautiful. Clean and Chrystal blue. We do have got an upgrade of the room and of the full board to all inclusive. The service was great and always friendly and asking for your need. The rooms were very clean. The food was very good and had a compressive offer of different causes. We can recommend this hotel in any question and in any topic. Thank you so much.

Our experience at the Gold Zanzibar was incredible. Firstly the staff - every member of staff was helpful and friendly; they went above and beyond to make our honeymoon special. There were a couple of staff members - Sumatra and Ali who were particularly memorable, smiley, sweet and fun. I have to mention the manager, Tuan, who was always present and on hand to offer help and advice. I don’t know where the hotel chain found him, but he’s a star! He was so attentive and friendly. Next, the food. It was top class (especially the grilled seafood.) The breakfast had a huge array of foods on offer and they did a special barbecue evening by the pool that left me in awe - they had aufoos you could possibly want! The hotel itself was stunning - it was impressive to look at and walk around with lush foliage everywhere, a kitchen garden, beautiful pool and beach. Plus, our room was phenomenal - loved the raised bed and the bath and shower; the layout was spaciouse and cool. Other than the main parts of the hotel, what I felt made our trip were the little touches. For example, everyday the towels were folded into different shapes and they sprinkled our bed with petals. We were also given a candlelit dinner on the beach, to celebrate our marriage, that was wonderful. They welcomed us with champagne and made us feel special - it was touching. I’d highly recommend staying here and will be back in the future (maybe for an anniversary!)

If I was going to offer any suggestions (and be really fussy) I’d recommend trying to speed up the service on the beach, which was quite slow, and having more staff dedicated to room service - as it wasn’t always reliable. Also, the coffee really wasn’t that great… But - as I said - that’s being very particular

Amazing hotel, spacious rooms, perfect view and beach, feels like a dream. The staff was pampering and super friendly. Since we keep Kosher, the manager and the chef approached us and kindly offered to prepare special dishes for us. They even offered to make us sandwiches for the travel on the morning we left. The food was the best we had in Zanzibar. It was hard to leave the hotel, we will definitely come back.

Amazing design and room size, located by one of the best beach in Zanzibar, quality food and very quiet in April. We were also allowed a very late check-out at no extra charge.

Good pool. That’s about it.

The rooms are very odd, and although the bed was comfortable enough, the layout was strange and dysfunctional. The gym is really poor. Hotels that cost this much in closed season should invest in a proper gym. It is hardly surprising they have very few pictures of it on their website. The price of drinks is scandalous. Don’t bother. Walk 100m on the beach to the hotel next door where you can buy drinks at an almost reasonable price.

Had very sad experience with hotel management. No respond on phones or emails. On arrival hotel manager even didn't show up when i told that I would like to talk with him. They decline my card 2 times(i payed same card other places and everything was fine) and finally from the third time i didn't get the room which i would like to.
