We liked leaving the place!

The whole apartment was extremely dirty, crockery, cutlery, cooker greasy both on the hob, knobs and oven, huge thick cobwebs covered the ceilings, walls and behind all furniture in every room. Microwave that needed condemning due to the fact the enamel coating had bubbled and rust was visible as well as not being cleaned at all! Mould on the carpets in all the rooms, as well as the walls & shower. Nothing had been cleaned or changed from the previous guests, bedding, toilet and shower! Bugs were everywhere, including in the bed, both myself and my husband were bitten. The worst was finding black clothes moths in the wardrobes & walls, none of our clothes were taken out of our suitcases. The sofa that you sit on and it is a pull out bed, was full of stains, grime and so dirty. When we rang the owner on Sunday morning, he did come round and got his feather duster out for the cobwebs, sadly they just smeared more on the walls and then dropped on the carpets. He also changed the bedding on the bed, but sadly we were still bitten through the night in bed! When we got back after our lovely walk in Amble on Sunday evening, we checked everywhere again, after the owner had been. Sadly, we found more problems. My husband got the hoover out and we soon found the problem, it didn't suck up any dirt, it let out more! The heating is locked so you can't control it, the temperature dropped to 7C in the evenings and yet the heating would never come on at All! Which made an impact on our health as I suffer from Raynaud's, arthritis and we both have circulation problems. You only had the electric fire in the front room for heat, a very expensive way to warm the whole apartment, which causes dry air!. The lights are voice controlled, which rarely worked. The noise from the neighbours above was extremely noisy, with sitting and children crying till half 3 in the morning!

comfy bed and nothing else

tv aerial didnt work (he did a temporary repair which lasted an hour so no terrestial tv for 4 days),door key card failed(he came to fix it very quickly-i had to get into property through window),parking was a lottery (ie it does not have guaranteed parking),but worst of all the place need a deep clean-the bed linen and towels were fresh but there were massive stains on the settee ( so bad we used the linen bag to sit on) and all window apertures were minging.The glasses were all musty , toilet seat is broke and the flat smelt on entry.Its the second bad property through Sykes-they need to check their landlords properties.

The bed was comfortable. And the welcome pack was appreciated

The neighbours were noisy. Upstairs and across from the apartment. The sofa was marked, and when we first entered the place, it smealt of dogs!

Very good value for money. Good location in the town. Easy parking.

Traffic noise could be difficult for light sleepers. Not a problem for us. Technology s bit over the top, especially for older people. Hey Google can get very annoying. Lighting in the lounge not bright enough.

Self catering property. We only ate our breakfast there so cannot comment further. The welcome pack and flowers were appreciated.

The property appeared OK but was in need of a good spring clean.

The property was cold and the heating fixed so unable to warm it up effectively . v noisy neighbours ( flat above )

Amazing…don’t want to give a good rating because we want it to be free when we book again! Lovely property which met all our needs!

It was a bit chilly but it was a cold week. The heating adjusts after 2 hours and we have 2 babies so need a warm environment so could have done with a bit more leeway
