Mattresses are too soft.

Our couple had a happy experience being welcomed here. The room was very spacious and clean. decorated with beautiful traditional furniture and textiles. Govin, a hotelier, is very kind and polite. He gave us helpful information on our trip. The breakfast I ordered was also prepared in a nice place. This accommodation is so close that you can enjoy Jaipur's attractions on foot, and you can feel the tradition.
nothing. it was perfect.

the butler Govind, is incredible and facilitied us all related to Jaipur. The breakfast was the best in our trip in India with differents and exotic fruits daily. Also the boss, Mr. Singh was very warm even receiving us in his big house with his family. A true indian gentleman.
you will surprise where the apartment is ubicated, just in a ugly and dark place, but it is absolutely compensated with the charming apartment.

Perfect location in walking distance of all old town sights
Amazingly beautiful room with historic decoration and tasteful furniture
Great 24/7 service by Govind incl. breakfast
When we needed a substitute train ticket, Govind and the host managed to book it on very short notice
Shower could use a separation from the rest of the bathroom e.g., by glass pane and door

This hotel location is not good. You have to walk through local dirty narrow alleys, went on a dirty narrow staircase, and very difficult to find. But they gave us a palace like huge beautiful room, offered free breakfast, with good service. But I would not stay here again.

Very nice room, huge and quiet. The breakfast was amazing ! Thank you Govind for helping us getting the most of our only day in Jaipur ! Your suggestions and assistance were priceless.
We were travelling during the hottest month of the year and the air conditioning was not powerfull enough to cool the room.

It's important to note this is a single property, more like an AirBnB than a hotel (Booking.com gives multiple room rates for some reason which suggests there is more than one room), and it has a live-in member of staff permanently on hand (Govind). It is a great place, beautifully decorated, and Govind and the manager are both super helpful; but it's definitely more suitable for a family stay than a solo/couple one, in my opinion, as it can feel like you have no real privacy. It's right in the heart of the old town near the City Palace so very conveniently located, as long as you're prepared for the buzz of an Indian city centre! Govind prepares a great breakfast on request.
The WiFi in the bedroom is patchy, although fine in the rest of the property. The mattresses are soft (but that's a matter of taste) and due to the location the bedroom doesn't have any external windows, which can feel odd even though it's enormous! It's very hard to find, down an alley and up some stairs, so you do need to coordinate your arrival with Govind. It's not the owner's fault at all but worth noting the restaurant which owns the beautiful roof terrace featured in the photos is currently closed due to Covid restrictions, and it's not clear when or if it will reopen. As mentioned above, if you like other people around and/or don't like having a very attentive chaperone, this may not be for you.

Excellent rooms, very clean. Mr Govind was an exceptional care taker and kept room clean and helped us. Both me and my husband felt very happy staying in the place as rooms are beautiful.
The location is also at a good place from many important landmarks for visiting such as Hawa Mahal, City palace and market.
Although breakfast was said to be included, when we were booking, it wasn't given complimentary

1. Govind.
He is such an amazing person and gives more than 100% towards hospitality and comfort of the guests. He made our stay so convenient and even helped us in local shopping, among many other things.
2. The villa.
You would get the entire villa to yourself and there is no one else to bother you. The bedroom is a masterpiece. I have never stayed at such a huge room before. It was such a relaxing and royal stay.
I would like to visit again with my family.
Last and not the least, you can visit the below places walking or just by taking a rickshaw/auto.
a) City Palace b) Isarlat Sargasooli c) Jantar Mantar d) Hawa Mahal e) Johri Bazar f) Bapu Bazar g) Tripolia Bazar
The property cannot be easily identified by a first timer. If something can be done at the main road entrance to make it more conspicuous esp. around cleanliness, it will be great. The elevator can be missed easily as well and the switch of the elevator on the 2nd floor (where the villa is located) was broken.

The property is very special. We felt like staying in a royal palace. We were also treated like royalty by the caretaker, Mr. Govind. Location is perfect very near from Hawa Mahal and City Palace, right in the middle of the old city, but quiet. The view from the top terrace is breathtaking. The property is clean, comfortable, and it has an old-world charm. We ordered breakfast (extra charge) and it was worth it to start the day with full stomach. Our regret was not spending more time relaxing at the property. With the price, I would really recommend you to stay in this property to get the unique experience.
Nothing. We like everything about this property.

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at the Umaid Vilas. The manager, Govind, made us feel right at home and was incredibly attentive to any need we may have. He made our experience really special :))
The property is beautiful and in awesome location within a short walk to most of the major sites in Jaipur. The rooftop patio has an epic view and is the perfect place to relax after a long day.
