Fantastic property that felt homely and comfortable. Plenty of communal space to relax and enjoy the open fire. Staff were attentive and friendly. The room was clean, well laid out and I was pleasantly surprised at the size of both my room and the bed as I had booked a single. The food was exceptional and the view over the lakes at breakfast was wonderful.

Everything exceeded my expectations. I haven't a bad word to say about the place or my stay.

The room was immaculate and well designed, the bed was really comfortable, the view and balcony were good and the breakfast and evening meal were very good and the staff pleasant and attentive. Beautiful public rooms, pleased there was no wedding party that night!

A lift would have been appreciated instead of two long flights of stairs but this is an old building so understandable. Would have preferred a table in the main hall for breakfast but might have been less cosy than the refectory-type table next to the toaster (which was too small to take the bread provided, by the way!)

A warm welcome to a classic country house hotel with open fires, cozy lounges, and a well-stocked bar. We had a well-appointed, clean and comfortable room with a great shower. The restaurant was excellent and the service was friendly and professional, we ended up eating here both nights. The breakfast was also very good, with perfectly cooked eggs, very nice and views across to Ely Cathedral. I am sure that we will be back, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Old Hall.

Fantastic breakfast, delicious fruit and pastries, lovely cooked breakfast very tasty. Lovely coffee Nespresso machine. Lovely staff very attentive. Hotel was only minutes away from Ely centre but well away from any noise from Traffic. Beautiful gardens and house.

The shower tray door was difficult to open, this was because the rollers kept coming off the bottom rail. The mastic at the base of the fixed panel was a bit grubby.

Restaurant food is a bit clumsy. Whilst the bathroom was spacious and very clean the toiletries are in large bottles secured to the shower and sink walls...In the bath you have no access to body wash , soap or shampoo.

Beautifully kept and exceptionally clean. The staff could not have been more attentive, even though we were only there for one night.

A great ambience, stunning grounds. Sitting on the back terrace, enjoying a drink from the well-stocked bar, watching a glorious sunset over Ely Cathedral - perfection!

We were very disappointed that we were not told there's no food at the hotel on a Sunday and had to drive back to Ely for a meal. Luckily I had drank non alco beers in the afternoon sitting on the terrace, or it would have meant messing around with taxis.

The Old Hall is a magnificent Jacobean house presented in beautiful surroundings. It is evident that a fortune has been spent ensuring every fine detail is perfect and every part of the house is luxurious. The owner met us and welcomed us on arrival and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was excellent and we enjoyed our evening meal very much too. We would recommend the Old Hall without reservation.

The road noise was a little high but it was windy.

Superb location, immaculate gardens and well appointed rooms with great views. Excellent breakfast / dinner in the Orangery dining room.

Only issue was a disappointing lukewarm shower which - despite much adjustment- would not get hot! Large bath was however suitable compensation.

gorgeous venue. you can see why the venue is used a lot for weddings. The place was kept in good order and shape and everything was clean and looked after.

the property is next to a noisy road. as the property is a listed building, the windows are mostly single glassed. which means you really need the extra duvet as well as you have to live to a degree with the traffic noises coming from the main road. I would always recommend asking for a quiet room if there is any available.
