The owners were fantastic and so helpful. The rooms are decorated to such a high standard and are filled with lovely items. It was very clean and we loved the patio area. I’ve been to over 60 countries abs stayed in nearly 1000 hotels/hostels etc and this is honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed

Charming apartment with everything you could possibly need. The patio overlooking the pool was huge! The bed was super-comfortable. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the place and the overall attention to detail and care of the staff. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again!

The location was perfect. 2 blocks from the beach. The property was very clean and the staff were very friendly.

The location is great, enjoyed the firm bed, glad to have a fridge and fresh water but the last time I stayed, I paid more for a much better accommodation at this location-I should have sprung for the same again because this room was not as good, just eh, ok.

The faucet in washroom was in need of a stream straightener screen because it sprays water in all directions and makes a mess, the sink is awkward to use and at an odd angle. I’m not a fan of the sliding glass door because you have to use key to lock it and i had a little trouble getting it to latch. I was naked when a male staff member tried to enter my room at 8:26 in am (I am female) and I believe he thought room was vacant maybe? I also believe perhaps that many people in puerto are getting weary of all the tourists. I asked at the desk if someone perhaps had an ibuprofen and said I knew it was asking as a favor (and had no expectation), but Mariela at desk said “we don”t usually give medication to guests” in such a tone that I felt like I was asking for narcs or something unbelievably over the top and inconvenient. Not my favorite experience but can I complain about paying $60 USD for a firm bed in a room a block from beach ?

The rooms are really comfy and well equipped. The attention we received from the staff was excellent, they are very helpful. Overall, I'm really glad I booked our stay at Abbey del Sol! I would completely recommend this hotel for families and couples.

Everything was excellent, except for one small but important detail. The battery of the smoke detector in one of our rooms was drained, so the device started beeping at 2 am! My brother staying in that room had a poor sleep that night because of this issue. I would suggest the hotel to check their electrical appliances more often to avoid such situations.

Perfect location, gorgeous gardens and has everything you need

Abbey Del Sol was a wonderful choice! The apartment was spacious and very clean-which means a lot to me. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything I needed to cook. Bathroom clean as well. Air conditioner was a blessing to say the least :) They even provided beach chairs , a beach bag, beach towels and umbrellas at no extra charge. Staff was friendly and always available to answer questions or provide assistance. Mariela was especially helpful. The hotel was conveniently located 5 minutes away (walking) from the Unico beach & 15 minutes from the town center where all the restaurants, transportation and shops were. It is a small and peaceful town with beautiful aesthetics. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe and comfortable. I am definitely coming back to Puerto Morelos and Abbey Del Sol!

Excellent location, incredibly cozy and clean room with comfortable beds and pillows. The space was perfect for three friends . We all slept well as the part of town was very quiet but also two block from the beach.

Wonderful quietness of resort especially at night. Very responsive staff. Kitchen was very well equipped.

It's far from the center of town so it's quiet. The pool is nice. The wifi worked well. The room was clean and well appointed. Bikes if you want to ride around. The owners are nice Just a great experience.🙂

It was a little more expensive than previous visits but I got a top floor room with a huge open patio so it balanced out. They need to turn the mattress 😂 That's it.

The staff was really helpful and always ready with good advice. You always felt taken care of and whatever the question about car rental or snorkeling tours etc. they always had the answers and very reasonable offers. Would recommend abbey del sol to every visitor in Puerto Morelos! :)

Not a thing to point out

Abbey del Sol is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed in abbey del sol for 4 nights at start of our Mexico trip and we loved it so much we came back on our last night of our trip. It is definitely the best hotel we stayed in during our Mexico travels and one of the best hotel we have ever stayed in. What makes this hotel amazing is the staff. They greet you with warm welcomes and treat you as a friend. Special shout out to Mary Ellen and Jin. They went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Mary Ellen organised a great day snorkelling for us and the staff were very knowledgeable of great restaurants, activities and transportation! The hotel is walking distance to the beach and the area is quiet and tranquil, often we had the pool to ourselves! Puerto Morelos is a lovely little beach town and abbey del sol is a stand out hotel.

Our stay was terrific. First, the customer service made us feel like family and not tourists; the location/property was beautiful, the room size was spacious, the comfort, the cleanliness, the two air cons, beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. The location was perfect for us; an easy walk to shops and dining, and we felt very safe. Abbey del Sol deserves a 10+.

The hotel is really comfortable, the staff were amazing, really helpful and friendly. The pool was clean and so nice after getting hot walking around town. We loved the bikes as the hotel is a little our of the centre so it was great to jump on a bike. When we arrived we were very tired, it was so nice to get into a super comfortable bed and we slept for 12 hours! All in all amazing stay.

We loved everything

We absolutely loved our stay. The staff were so kind and accommodating. We loved having the bicycles to explore the town and get to and from the beach. The pool and garden area were fabulous and so beautiful. Our rooms had everything we could have needed.

There was nothing that could have been done better. We loved our stay and will recommend it to any and all who want to stay in Puerto Morelos!
