Mosquitoes

The breakfast was the best and we looked forward to it every morning! There was a huge selection and it was all so fresh. Coffee (3 types), tea, water, juice and milk for drinks. Followed by fresh boiled eggs from their chickens, cheese and meat, soft bread, fresh cut up fruit, croissants straight from the oven, cereal, yogurt, fette biscottate, jams and honey and to top it off there was always a freshly baked cake in the morning (different flavor) thanks to Eleni!! There was access to the coffee machine all day and there is also a toaster and microwave to use as well in the breakfast room. The rooms are modern, very clean, equipped with air-conditioning, a TV and wifi. The room walks right onto the patio with a view of the pool and has furniture and a drying rack just for your room. The pool has furniture throughout as well as some tables/chairs and a pergola. The atmosphere is very relaxing and since there are only 3 rooms in the entire place we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. The location was absolutely perfect. It was a 2 min drive to get on the superstrada and was in the middle of everything. We went to Gallipoli, Porto Cesareo, Lecce (20 minute drive). We also ventured further to the beaches/grotta along the Eastern coast as well as to Ottranto, Torre dell'Orso and Santa Maria di Leuca (45 min). The family is exceptional! Their generosity was over the top and they were ALWAYS helpful. When we needed something they made sure to help us out and we felt right at home being there. They were even kind enough to invite us to a family BBQ night...the meat was cooked in their outdoor fireplace for grilling and Eleni went over the top once again and prepared a delicious feast for everyone! If you are going to Puglia this is the perfect place. It's not too far from the beaches and towns and it is a relaxing paradise when you get back. THANK YOU CONTE FAMILY!

- Location was confusing at start. Exit the highway and turn left (don't go straight as Google maps says). Cute town with lots of locals watching from their doors :-D - Mosquitos, so bring repellent - Heard people above though only occasionally
