Other guests, dilapidated venue, drafty windows, no staff at hotel, coded locks for entry, two TVs in room that did not work, did not feel safe leaving items in room during day, grateful cad was not stolen or broken into each morning.

the low price attracted us but the place needs a lot of help, wishes we never booked it.

location was good. room was big

we actually left a day early, as we had no shower, as the drain was blocked and couldn’t change the temperature, so it was scolding hot. small things like only having 3 hand towels and one small bath towel between 3 of us wasn’t good. no hand soap. 1 toilet roll for a 2 night stay. there was 2 tvs in the room, neither one of them worked. there was no private parking on site, as the driveway was owned by someone else.

Poor access into property - 9 mob calls and hour before entrance gai ed Dirty floor of shower. Non working sink plug. Towel was shredded on the edge. Pillow covers! TV would not operate. Moved out after one night. Request(ed) 3 days compensation - no response. Found other accommodation.

didn’t stay here as we were offered an upgrade to other site which had a 4 poster bed , stayed at gomersal lodge hotel. ratings are for there .

Easy access to the motorway.

An unattended property, with a code-lock access. Was sent a text with access code and room allocation. Access code was incorrect (it eventually transpired it was the wrong code - eventually sorted). Room allocated to me was inaccessible, eventually given a different room.

Needs some tlc

Lovely old house. Nice and spacious, free parking. Host very helpful over the phone once we made contact.

Place needs a deep clean and some TLC. Snail or slug trails on carpet next to bed? No soap or toiletries. Was a bit of a hard job trying to get into the property at first as no one answered the door or the phone.

I did mention that I need parking for a car, And There was off the road parking. They have kitchen area with was quite handy…. used for making tea/ coffee, microwave , oven & washing are also in the Kitchen for guests to use. 👍

It was a cheap place to stay, but you’ll pay for it with lack of security and cleanliness.

I was granted access to the building from communicating to a staff member via the “Ring” doorbell. Not once was I asked for my name, booking confirmation number, or any proof that I had indeed booked a room at the “lodge” but was simply asked how many nights I was staying and how many guests it was for. With that I was given the numeric code for the front door to gain entry. It would have been incredibly less concerning if I hadn’t discovered that when I got to my room there was no key or any locking mechanism provided to lock the door from the outside whatsoever. Meaning I could have been a completely random person who just gained access to the inside of the building and can get into unlocked rooms with there being on site staff/reception either (this was at 8:30pm on a Friday night, which I had been confirmed in my booking would be my arrival time). I thought at least I could lock the door from the inside when I was in the room/sleeping, only to find out the next morning when a man (not sure whether it was a staff member or not) opened my door and walked in on me sleeping even tho I had locked the door from the inside, apparently it was a false security that didn’t actually keep the door locked. There was a key code type lock on the bedroom door, however on further inspection on the side of the door showed that it was sawed off/painted over and merely decorative not actually functional, not that it would have mattered because I wasn’t given any code for it anyways. The room itself was decent for the prices, tho it had not been given a thorough clean. There was some rubbish left behind from the previous guest and the towel provided from the hotel was stained and dirty, tho I did not end up using it as I feared the lock on the shared bathroom (where the shower is) would also be only a false sense of security and that anyone could still open the door from the outside.

Will not be staying here ever again! Absolutely disgusting, to start off with we had 2 rooms booked, told us that the key for the other room will be in the main room. Once we got there after struggling to find parking space, there was no spare key in the main room, the mattress was uncomfortable -could feel the springs. The duvet and and pillow cases didn't even look clean. The shared bathrooms were disgusting, the bin was overfilling with sanitary pads, sink didn't look like it was cleaned in ages. After settling down, we knew we wasn't going to stay here for another night as we had initially booked it for 2 nights. I went to lock the bedroom door to top it up the lock was broken we had to put our suitcases in front of the door as other people were in the same building. Dust on the lamps, next to the bed. I contacted the owner and told him I would not be staying here another night, he tried to offer me an upgraded room, I don't think he knew the meaning of upgraded if this is the kind of place he's running. We tried looking for hotels the same night however unfortunately everything was fully booked that night. Tried to get a refund of him, he then told us to contact booking.com which we did and they told us gateway Lodge are refusing to give a refund and cannot offer a refund on behalf of them. We did not take photos that night of the property, as we was exhausted from travelling and didn't think that the owner may try denying all this. Waste of £156, if you actually cannot find a place and this is your last resort then please take photos as you won't get a refund otherwise

Absolutely everything, I would give the palce a zero star rating if it had an option

Room was well equipped also you can use the kitchen.Price was very good.
