no air conditioning during September and beginning of October the room had zero air circulation practically! yes the window did open as we were instructed from the staff but did little to comfort us

The castellina should easily have 5*. What a stunning place! The location, views, food and exceptional service- is just incredible. The atmosphere is so relaxing that you feel like you just want to stay there for the whole day and do nothing. We had so many plans to travel around and visit places but the hotel was peaceful, so perfect that we just stayed in by the pool admiring the views. Also not even worth looking for local restaurant. The dinner every evening was just piece of art! Definitely coming back!!! oh what a amazing time we had with you😚 Thank you!

This place is AMAZING. Probably the best "castle"-stay in Tuscany. With its amazing views, you can quite literally see all of Chianti from here. Highly recommend. Typing another sentence to meet the wording requirement.

home from home, we absolutely loved it, we booked last minute and had the only room left, which I believe was one of the smallest, but it was completely wonderful. the friendliest of staff, knowledgeable, unobtrusive, it truly was home from home, fantastic food, great atmosphere, and the buildings and gardens are truly wonderful.

limited storage space for clothes in our room but we did have a fairly small room as we booked last minute. next time we would try and book a better room but this did not spoil any part of the visit, it’s just a comment.

Location, breakfast, staff, food and wine are excellent and easily match 5* plus hotels, lovely cats around, excellent outdoor activities, e.g. horse riding around San Gimignano, spacious room with large bathroom and separate clothing room.

Loud noise at night in room 12 when the door is open due to the chimney. No possibility to open a window instead. Breakfast reorders rarely worked but would have been highly appreciated, e.g. a second coffee.

This property in the magnificent Chianti region is elegant and private. The staff (Beatrice) is wonderfully English-speaking and skilled in guiding guests to find their way to enjoy the region. The food is refined and satisfying. The serving staff (Francesca) were gracious. The breakfast menu selection process was efficient and wise. This is an extraordinarily wonderful place. WIFI is very good.

No criticisms.

The location was incredible, situated on top of a hill overlooking the Tuscan area. The staff was above and beyond and extremely friendly - they brought delicious aperativos to us in the garden, setup the spa for our individual use, provided a complimentary wine tour and tasting, etc. Our favorite stay in Italy and perfect for us on our honeymoon. Could not say enough positive things about Castello la Leccia!

YOU MUST STAY HERE. This place is the best and most beautiful place we stayed during our trip. Everything exceeded our expectations: the staff is amazing and very friendly, the swimming pool has a beautiful view on Sienna and surroundings, the garden is great for dinner and breakfast, the room is amazing. I could go on. Unfortunately we could only stay here for one night since the place was fully booked, but I would definitely come back here. Also, try their wines!

The views of the Tuscan hills are amazing (espcially when chilling by the pool). The food was lovely and really appreciated the free bottle of Chianti that we received in the room. Room was very spacious and the staff were very accomodating. I recommend either the scrambled egg or omelette at breakfast (absolutely delicious).

The temperature of the room is controlled via central system (set to 19 degrees), which automatically turns on when you leave the room. As a result it was a little chilly in the room.

Everything is perfect and every request has a solution. The entire staff is great. The location, rooms, facilities, details, everything is perfect. The restoration of the villa is among the best I have seen, similar to Villa Reale di Marlia or Villa Grabau for example. If you will visit this place or any other place in Italy and you are not italian (I am not), do the locals a favour and stop speaking english with a perfect accent and please try to speak a bit italian, they will appreciate it.
