Great location for visiting in Eisenach. Bus stop directly in front of hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was to the back and very quiet.

The atmosphere and the interior
The laundry was more like courtesy of the staff. We appreciate the use of it, but it was quite difficult to get it working.

This place is amazing! It feels like we stepped back in time about 400 years, but with all the modern amenities (like flushing toilets and hot water). The staff is amazing. They all wear Period costumes. The restaurant is definitely the high point. The food is served as it was centuries ago. No soup spoons (but there are forks and knives). The glasses for beer or wine have no base, but simply fit into the holes in the table. Even the food is served in a spectacular fashion. Breakfast was amazing - even had a rustic honey comb. So authentic!
Overworked staff. They certainly worked their butts off. These four individuals not only deserve a raise, but extra help would be beneficial for everyone. It was a packed house and the crowd was lively! And the four of them just kept running.

Our room was large and clean. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good. We ate dinner in the restaurant and were impressed by the medieval atmosphere. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

The hotel restaurant is a gem! The medieval feel and experience is absolutely unique. The concept for the menu and the total ambiance is amazing : tavern furniture, candles in the whole restaurant, clay pitchers, and music from Martin Luther’s time (15th century).
The toilets also had a medieval touch... very entertaining.
The breakfast was plentiful and very good. You could even request for an omelette, fried egg, and also waffles.
There was no shampoo in the bathroom.

Breakfast was not refilled, excellent food but 1 hour before closing breakfast time most of the food was gone

Hotel nicely located. Staff proffessional and friendly. Very good food at the restaurant.
We upgrade the room from small to co fort but still it was quite small.

We liked that the hotel offered breakfast and was quietly located closed to forest.
A lot had the look and feel of a former "DDR" hotel just painted over.
We came at 10:10 for breakfast but this was closed already - so no breakfast (needless to say that this was not announced anywhere).
Service was fairly poor and disorganized although staff was friendly and welcoming.
Will we come again? Sorry, NO!

my room was so tiny that it was impossible to move around without hitting or banging into something - even though i had booked a larger room for an additional charge. i was offered another room which unfortunately wasn't any larger than the first one. certainly not a place for claustrophobics 😂

Nice quaint hotel with "medieval" touch near the centre of Eisenach. Good for a short stay. We did not try the restaurant but it looked great with the waiters in "period dress" to add to the authentic medieval feel of the place!
The service during breakfast could have been better: an hour before the end of the breakfast slot there was no orange juice and hardly any bread, spreads and fillings left and the lady who was occupied cleaning the tables did not notice any of this. We noticed other guests experiencing the same inconvenience.
