We had a great time for the time we were there. Easy walk to the beach or anywhere you want to go. Restaurants, breakfast spots, liquor store etc. Owner was responsive and friendly. Would return if we are in the area again

I love an older beach house with a relaxed vibe, and this was perfect in that sense. We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go and the neighborhood was wuiet.

Really nice location. Less than a half mile walk to everything. The property owner was communicative and very helpful. Called to remind me of things I needed to bring and the process for accessing the location. I would definitely recommend.

Modest cottage, we loved the licatiib

Edward was great and communicated very well and was very accommodating. We were there for a weekend getaway. Very close to beach, shops, restaurants. We walked everywhere except to the Lighthouse which is only 3 miles away.

We have come here for years and these last two years were the best. Both were spent here. I highly recommend it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! Very cute cottage. Super clean. Easy walk to the beach. Easy walk to Washington Square, restaurants and shopping. Outside shower and grill were wonderful. Edward is very easy to get in touch with and responds very quickly. We hope we can continue to come back here and stay!

Congress Cottage has everything we needed for four adults. It's super clean with a well functioning washer/dryer inside the apartment. There are window air conditioners in both bedrooms as well as the living room and the whole place stayed very cool. Best of all it's a less than 10 minute walk to the beach and free parking was easily available right in front or within a block of the house the whole time. We enjoyed the patio outside with grill and picnic table. Also the outdoor shower is great and really clean. Edward is extremely responsive and helpful. We will be back!

The house was exceptionally nice. The host put a lot of work into many of the fine details from the decorations to the outdoor showers. I was surprised to find so many amenities like a full array of cooking equipment and a portable heater to put near your bed if the night gets cold.

Came down to Cape May with a friend who has never been. The house was in a very quiet neighborhood and walking distance to beach and shopping. Had a very enjoyable weekend!

This cottage was cozy and clean and in a great area, close to a number of restaurants and the beach. Very quiet neighborhood and very walkable. The cottage would benefit further from some simple updates, such as newer/more cheerful furniture and replacement of rusty wall heater, shower curtain rod and more light in bathroom area, etc. if you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs if using air conditioning units. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it if you aren’t looking for luxury and don’t need much room.

Ed was an excellent host; he reached out to me the week leading up to our stay and discussed the house, some suggestions for which beach to visit (The Cove) due to the young ages of our kids and other family oriented activities to do while staying there. The house was very clean, organized and offered an enjoyable retreat out back for some relaxation after the kids went to bed. I highly recommend staying here, the location was excellent for the beach, Washington Street Mall and restaurants.

Edward was great. He kept me in the loop the entire time before check in about the status of our stay. Gave us some extra time at check in and check out which gave us more time to have fun in town. Would highly recommend this property for anyone with a long term or short term vacation to Cape May. Great location... Lot of fun.

This was perfect for out little family. Having two bedrooms, a place to sit and eat/gather and an outdoor space was nice. The outdoor showers worked wonderful for cleaning off the sand from the beach, which was just a short walk away.

Overall, this was an enjoyable experience. Edward was great--he communicated well with us and the location of the property was central to everything Cape May has to offer.

This was a very last minute choice we made to rent this property. Its a great location. Can walk to bike to or drive to anything u want. It was a great time and we had a blast. But i did find a few thing i wasnt happy about. I didnt lkie all the microwave toaster n coffee pot under the cpunter in the kitchen. It made a mess trying to do stuff on whats a storage shelf. And they cant move thats where they get plugged in. If u leave sugar ect out on counter needs to be sealed or ull get aints. Dont leave anything up against the windows in back porch / dinning room area the windows leek and let water in. And be careful og the hot water fixtures in bathroon and out side showers the fixtures r old and hot water is very hot so fixtures do get very hot. I did burn my hand. And i also fpund the bathroom entrace a little tight to get through. But we had good weather for what should have been my wedding week. And tv channels selection sucks thou. I would bring lots of games incase of bad weather. All in all we had great weather realy wasnt at the house to much. I loved it. It was a great last minite vacation for me and my other two friends.

The owner was kind and helpful. Tho not the most updated it doesn’t matter. It was cozy and had everything we needed and the location can’t be beat. It is impeccably clean. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back. Thank you!!

Charming place with great kitchen and cozy outdoor space. Close to the beach...we loved it!

The house was very clean, with new mattresses and pillows on the beds. Suitable location. Quiet street. That is the extent of the good news. Website photos did not depict the rundown condition of this 1950s era house. Front porch light burned out. Front door is hidden behind huge overgrown shrubs making it scary to get to the front door in the dark. Also have to walk through mud on rainy days to get to the front door because shrubs extend over sidewalk. Dangerous broken bedroom ceiling light fixture cover. No appropriate location in kitchen to plug in toaster. Noisy and ugly hot water heater exposed in the kitchen. Inadequate kitchen supplies. Inadequate window coverings (except for bedrooms); anyone outside could clearly see us at night; felt like we were on display to the neighborhood. Most windows didn't open to allow any flow of fresh air. No bedroom dressers to stow clothes. Coffee table and "dining room" table and chairs were ancient and beat up. We literally ate on our laps. Lock on refrigerator freezer door??? Vintage doesn't have to be old and musty smelling. With renovations and some TLC, the house has potential but we would never consider staying there again. Highly misrepresented property on website. I seriously question the validity of the good reviews posted on HomeAway. They all sound like they were written by the same person with all the same high praise to the owner. The owner also suggested to me that if I wanted to rent the house again, I should by-pass HomeAway and rent directly through him, thus avoiding the added HomeAway fees. This type of owner gives HomeAway a bad name. I have used HomeAway in the past and will continue to do so in the future. My other experiences were excellent and I won't let this one discourage me. This was a very nice property. I would stay here again. He even included beach tags. Clean and comfortable.

We were very happy with our stay at the cottage. Very quick walk to the beach. The beach tags and box at the beach was very convenient. The cottage was located close to some very good restaurants and a great liquor store. It is also a quick walk to the main beach area (restaurants and bars) and Washington street. We didn't need to drive anywhere. We used the kitchen for every breakfast and the BBQ 3 times for dinners. The kitchen is small but worked out great (everything you need). Ed and his wife provided recommendations on restaurants and sight seeing ideas that we used and were very happy with. Ed and his wife are excellent hosts and were very accommodating. The cottage is older and is not fancy, but it is very clean, very functional, and very affordable. I feel we really got the value out of what we spent. Very happy with our stay and would rent again when in the area.

The location is mid way to sunset beach and surrounded by fun trendy shops and eats that are off Washington square so feel like secret finds. And still a very easy walk to the ocean. The unit is older but thoughtfully stocked and very clean. The non stop rain this year made the outdoor area not as inviting but it seems very cute and usable.

Older first floor home in a great location. The beds were not very comfortable but doable for a few nights. The window air conditioners made a lot of noise as did the water heater. Very clean, well supplied for coffee, cooking and if you wanted to BBQ the charcoal grills looked awesome. The beach box at the beach was helpful as were the beach passes both supplied by Edward the owner.
