We stayed a week in the home to vacation and visit family friends in the area. The home is comfortable, clean, and conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, and beaches. Enjoyed the pool and backyard setting.

Overall the property was clean, furniture is outdated, but clean. Pool area was nice. Outside of property was definitely not the same as what the pictures depict. Landscaping was dead and there were dead bugs stuck all over the entrances. The biggest issue is that the air conditioning was not cooling the house. We arrived at 10pm and the inside temp was 83. We set the thermostat to 72 and there was no cold air blowing from the vents. So we decided to stay in a hotel for the night, came back the next morning at 9am and the inside temp only went down to 79. We made several attempts to discuss this with the owner, but the owner did not believe us, even though we had pictures and videos and called us liars several times. The owner was rude and unwilling to resolve the problem. We've been renting from VRBO for over 5 years and have never had such a bad experience. I'm sure the owner is going to say something negative about us in a response, but my review is based on facts.

Property is in a great location to downtown Venice, shopping,restaurants, and beaches. We really enjoyed the Lanai and heated pool. Had a great time watching the birds and wild life.

This was our second stay at this property. We had a great time! The property had all the necessities and then some and the location is very convenient. Whenever we were not at the beach we enjoyed the pool and bird watching. Absolutely will plan to book again in the future.

We were very disappointed to find out that this house was not a 3 bedroom but really a 2 bedroom house! The 3rd room is not a bedroom ( does not have a closet) but is instead a den that is connected to the master bedroom with a sliding glass door to separate the two rooms! This actual room doesn’t have a bed but has an old sleeper sofa with a very uncomfortable thin mattress on it and didn’t have bed sheets for it so we had to improvised!! The blinds on the slinging door are missing/broken so no real privacy there either!
Not to mention that our bed sheets had stains on them! They were clean but had big red stains that didn’t come out after washing them.
The sliding glass door in the kitchen is literally missing the handle that we actually found in one the kitchen cabinet drawer.
Light bulbs on lamps were out and I didn’t feel like it was my responsibility to take care of it!
This property is to me not well kept as described on the website. I think someone should check the maintenance of the house before guests arrive to make sure that everything is working and in order!

The house was Ok. The furniture is old and the house is in need of repairs. TV was spotty which frustrated my husband. The orange plastic fence around the pool killed the vibe. It just needs comfy furniture that will fit a group of four and good internet and cable. Just a little TLC and it would be a great place.

I discussed our concerns with the owner and VRBO support when we refused to check-in upon arrival. There was hurricane damage to the lanai. The pool was filthy. I would not recommend staying at this property.

The home is older but was clean and comfortable and the owner was very responsive when needed. Venice is a great place and this house is close to everything. Unfortunately hurricane Ian destroyed the pool cage and it's awaiting installation which friends have told me takes months. It's no fault of the owner but that took away from the outdoor enjoyment. Some new lounge chairs for the lanai would also be helpful .

House was clean and had up to date appliances. The property was set on a river with many varieties of birds which was enjoyable. Neighborhood was old and some what run down. All and all enjoyed our stay

We selected this property primarily based on the pool and the photos of the pool vista. When we arrived we found the pool heater out of commission and the pool shelter removed. Refunding the heating fees does not fairly compensate for what we felt was an impaired property. We completely understand the shelter was hurricane related damage. But there has been plenty of time to amend the listing to note pool is not as depicted in photos.

Birds!
This rental is on a bird sanctuary. If you’re a bird nerd, you’ll love this place. I would highly recommend bringing binoculars for bird watching if that’s your thing. Lots of bird books around the house for reference. This house is located in a residential area rather than tourist area. It was close to everything via car. It was wonderful to have the private pool to relax at the end of a busy day.

Great Location and View!
Cute house that felt spacious and open with the sliders to the lanai and pool. Loved the privacy fences and the kids were in the pool ALL day and ALL night.
Close to public beaches and eating options.
Host was responsive to a small issue with the fridge and had a back up on hand in the garage which was helpful. It would be helpful to have understood the layout of the 3rd bedroom being just off of the master bedroom but it all worked out fine. Thank you for letting us stay in your home!

Perfect Getaway
My family very much enjoyed our stay at this property! The house had everything we needed and we enjoyed the pool and lake very much. Outside by the pool enjoying the view of the lake and all of the wildlife was the perfect spot to drink our morning coffee. Quick drive to local beaches and food/grocery shopping. Great spot! Hope to visit again next year.

Family vacation
This property is absolutely amazing! Everything was convenient and easy to figure out. The views from the backyard are serene and the pool was incredibly refreshing. The neighborhood was charming and felt safe. I can’t think of a single negative aspect about our stay here!

The property was great. Loved the set up of the house. Loved the heated pool. I think we were the 1st ones to use the brand new washer and dryer. The only draw back were the showers. They were a little small. Beds were very comfortable.

Good proximity to everything we wanted. Neighborhood was quiet and safe for the late night walks. House had some minor issues that were promptly addressed by host. We would definitely VRBO this property again.

Friends Getaway
Overall a good visit. We were 2 couples, the set up for the queen pull out was not ideal as it was a glass sliding door from the master bed room. We stayed in the twin beds. The owner of the property was very helpful when we contacted him on a few things. They were taken care of. Our favorite part was sitting out on the lanai in the mornings while watching the wild life chatting.

This property was perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed the pool and lake view very much. The close proximity to the beach was wonderful as well. Check out process was easy and we had a wonderful time.

Cute place
We enjoyed our time. Lots of large iguanas. The alligator in the pond behind house greeted us every morning, lots of turtles, birds. Beach not far. Shopping not far. No issues with the house. House is older but super cute. Thank you for opening your house to us!

Just Right
We were so happy to spend time together as a family since the pandemic it has been a while. We really enjoyed having a pool with the canal view, especially since there was a red tide. So glad we did not book on the beach. This location is just a couple miles from the beach and the village of Venice. There was lot's of wild life, birds, lizards, and we even saw a baby alligator. It is a quiet neighborhood with a mini mall up the road that has everything you may need that you forgot. Although, the house was completely supplied with all that you need. Thank you. Quiet Oasis

A very pleasant stay
We spent all our time at the house on the lanai enjoying the wonderful view and all the wildlife. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and for the beach. Our only complaint is the tiny shower stalls. A very pleasant stay.

great property, disappointing customer service
We have had lovely vacations at this home for February 2020 and February 2021. We are very disappointed that the owner leased the home for Feb 2022 to another party, knowing that we love this home and look forward to staying here each February. It would have been nice to be given the opportunity to lease before he pursued other parties.

Amazing location and pool
What a beautiful view! We really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for our family. With 2 toddlers, I really liked how the master bedroom opened up to one of the spare rooms so I could keep an eye on them.. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is the master bed was extremely uncomfortable. We ended up purchasing a foam mattress topper which helped a lot. Thank you for letting us stay. Hopefully, we will he back soon.

Good Property
We were visiting Venice for a funeral - so not exactly a fun event. This property was exactly what we needed. It was simple and had everything necessary. The highlight of the house is the pool and porch area which are very well done. We liked that there was plastic sliders between the porch and pool so that anyone on the porch could enjoy a cooler area and not get splashed. The view from the pool as well as the lookout area over the lake was wonderful as well. We really felt at home and able to relax.

Whispering Lake House.
Although there were some shortcomings when we first arrived(various things needed fixing and the pool was not in working order), very good communication with the property manager and the cleaner coming back, got things sorted out.

Disappointed
The property was a little disappointing to us. The 3rd bedroom is not a true bedroom. There was a sliding glass door between the master and the “3rd bedroom”. This made it difficult for us and our children. The pool was advertised as heated (and there was a charge for this) but it was very cold upon arrival and never really heated up to able to swim in in the winter. There were a lot of large items stored in the closets. The bed in the master was a king but very uncomfortable to sleep on. The location was ok (about 15
Minutes to beach) but the neighborhood was less then desirable for my family. Gregg, the owner, was good at getting back to us when we needed assistants. We made it work for our stay, but we were disappointed.

Great place to stay
I needed to contact owner work a question about the pool. He was timely and courteous. The house was awesome and had everything we needed. The heated pool was a little cold for my taste (78 degrees) so there was no swimming but i understand that it's expensive to keep it even at that temp. We took chairs, umbrella and shell sifter to Casperen beach and had a blast looking for shark teeth. Go out BEYOND the rocks at low tide to find better stuff. If i come this way again, i will give Greg a call!
