The views were amazing! Great time and lovely location. Charming little cabin you can cozy up in

The river and mountains were the only good thing about this place. We stayed here from Feb. 9-11, I would be ashamed to recommend this place to family or friends. The slider door by the kitchen was unlocked when we arrived only way to keep people from coming in was with the stick in the track. The main couch was torn and in terrible shape. the second couch the cushions were at a slant unable to sit comfortably.
The dated unusable oven had a door did not latch and when opened slammed to the floor. The left back burner did not work, I could find much better frying pans at a thrift store (literally afraid to cook on them for what would come off of them).
The second bathroom sink drains very poorly.

Don't be fooled by the hot tub in the main photo, I was informed the day of my stay that it hasn't worked for months. Vrbo and the host were incredibly unhelpful and it made the whole experience frustrating.

The views from this home were nothing short of amazing. We had perfect weather, WiFi worked great. If you were expecting luxury this isn’t for you. It’s obviously a vacation cabin but it serves its purpose. We had a great little 2 night get away. Read all the things (I didnt) no oven, no hot tub, bring a grill lighter (wasn’t one here). Just little nit picky things. I would Definitely come back.

It is hard to beat the location both in proximity to mountains and right on the river. Very tranquil setting. The property is good enough, comfortable, but badly in need of some modern updates.

*HOT TUB BROKEN* Vacasa the company that manages this property, tried to SCAM me. I called beforehand asking if the hot tub was broken since I saw a new review saying it was, and the person on the phone said “there are no notes saying it is broken.” :( he knew exactly what he was doing. I asked what I should do if I get there and the hot tub is broken, he said call us not vrbo and we will get you a new place. I called, someone said they’d call the owner, I get a text from the owner saying he took the hot tub off the amenities list. I filtered my search by hot tub, this is the only reason we got a place - to have a hot tub after skiing. It sketched me out even more when my boyfriend looked at more reviews and some people said the same thing! Some say the hot tub was taken off, some say it was put back on. I have a suspicion the owner puts it on, then when someone rents it out or checks in, takes it off, and makes us seem crazy. I have gotten 30% back from an owner changing their listing on me - i will keep calling until i get someone who can see the history of the listing. And i will pursue this and get my money back. I didn’t want to ruin our last weekend together as a couple before i left for the week, on the phone for hours. I was put on hold by vrbo for 20+ min, someone finally said theyd call me back or email me, and never did. It’s like they’re in on it. Do not waste your time and mon

I could not have been more disappointed with the reality of this cabin versus the (obviously highly photoshopped) listing.
It was dirty, there were white stains all over various walls, the windows were dirty, and everything was broken and missing.
The hot tub was broken, the garbage disposal was broken, the TV was broken, the cabinet the TV was in was broken, even the master bedroom door was broken. The leather like couch was busted open with tears and open stuffing...
There was a gross laminated but moldy sign about the garbage disposal being broken, so it's obviously been that way for a while.
While there, my dog found a mostly empty can of crusty pet food under the table that had clearly been there for a long time, and everything was out of stock: spices, laundry detergent, etc.
I reported this all, got terrible customer service, and got a very pitiful refund of a small portion of cost of staying there.
For the amount paid, we could have been at a high-end hotel, but instead we were sitting in someone's dirty, ramshackle, falling-apart cabin and being treated poorly by the management team.
I will NEVER rent a Vacasa property again.

The house is situated on the river bank. The day when we moved in, we witnessed torrents running swiftly in the river and it was impressively beautiful.
When staying at the upstair loft, it was another astonishing scene of overlooking the water running outside. It has been raining everyday during our five days stay, and it was quite a pitty that we could not go on hiking as what we have planned to do but couldn't due to the weather conditions.
The house was clean, despite a very old and leather-torn sofa in the living area and a couple of broken lights. There are lots of hiking trails and parks in the area. If with good weather, it is absolutely worthwhile to spend time in the area.

with the sunshine, the views of the mountains and the river were wonderful, and that is what we were coming for! two large sliders had failed, so would be great to replace someday for the views.
we covered the poor couch, for it was peeling and rough. need new fry pans or bring one with us next time. she's rustic but has great character!

This is a wonderful place to escape and enjoy riverfront relaxation. The cabin has a modest but functional kitchen, fun loft space with beds, clean bathrooms, and fun streaming options on the TV if you wish to look at a screen. The best part of this place is being on the river with access to trails and outdoor activities. It was sad to see the devastation of the rock creek fire across Hwy2, but selfishly and fortunately the cabin doesn't face the burnt mountain. It's a good reality check -- cherish the woods.

When we booked, our search was for a home on the water with a hot tub. This home seemed to check all our boxes. I read the reviews and some people had prior concerns about a non-functioning stove, sketchy oven and other various things that weren’t necessarily make or break things for us. We booked, and to be clear, at the time of our booking this was listed as a home with a hot tub as an amenity. When we arrived the hot tub was non-functioning at all. When I reached out to Vacasa they told me this was not an offered amenity. When I informed them that it was a listed amenity at the time of my booking with photos and all, they basically said “bummer” with no attempt to make things right. We could have easily chosen a far less expensive rental without a hot tub but we chose this rental for that relaxing amenity. There was no warning or notification ahead of time that this amenity was removed or unavailable. As previous posts stated, the oven is sketchy but works, the stove is wonky and only half of it works. The home isn’t in the best shape overall and the leather couch is shredded to bits. There is so much potential in this home but so little effort is put into it. We were super disappointed for the price we paid for a weekend away, no hot tub, and complete lack of care from vacasa when we reached out.

Thought there were outside chairs and fire pit. Pics look like you can go down to the river, did not find out you couldnt until we reserved the place.

The location was delightful next to the river and the woods smelled so fresh. Had to figure out how to use the coded door, but finally figured it out. Nice to have a fire, it was cozy and relaxing. Loft was roomy. Some Teflon cookware needs to be replaced, appreciated the stainless steel pans. Hope to be back!!

My pup and I adored this cabin! It's a great price, great location tucked away in Baring right along the river. Close to Stevens for skiing! It was amazing to have the sliding doors open during the day to listen to the river and not worry about privacy. The floor to ceiling windows are stunning! This is an older cabin with charm that I loved; well maintained and well stocked (full kitchen, bathrooms, firewood, games). Wifi worked perfectly -- I was working remotely and had several video meetings without issue, and easily hooked up my computer to the tv to stream March Madness.
I was bummed that the hot tub was not available during my stay but these things happen. Without needing to ask, the Vacasa team recognized the error and proactively refunded the fee I paid for that amenity, and have removed it from the listing until fixed. The customer service was great and consistent. I received a text within 30min of check in to make sure I was settling in alright and that the cabin was clean. I never waited more than 5min for a response from the customer service team and the property manager. I definitely recommend this spot and I'm excited to get back to this little slice of heaven!

We absolutely loved staying here. The view of the Skykomish was our favorite part by far. The huge windows and a fire burning make for such a relaxing evening..especially for the one sunny day that we had. Thanks so much for hosting!

This is a comfortable cabin with a wonderful setting. It is lovely to go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the river. It is close to hiking and even a coffee shop in Skykomish. Staff was responsive to one of the small issues which needed attention.

Aside from the old appliances this place was just what we needed. A good size for 7 people. Communication with the owner would not be something you should count on, tried 3 numbers and I've not heard back about a device i left behind though. Beautiful views though.

Loved the windows and private, cozy vibe
We celebrated our 20th anniversary here and had a wonderful time. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and exactly what we wanted. Checking in was frustrating as I had to call the day of for instructions eliminating the possibility of an early hike on the way there. The cleanliness was questionable as there were lots of dog poop piles outside, hair in the bathroom, a used bar of soap in the shower, wrappers under the couch, and a gross grill that we had to clean before we could use it. We also were left with no soap to be able to wash dishes, a broken dishwasher, and a scary stovetop burner that should come with a safety note. We drove to the little store and bought cleaning supplies and left the home the way we would have liked to have found it. We truly soaked in so much happiness there and despite some initial frustration, we had the best time! We hope to stay there again in the future, it really is a special little place.

Breathtaking Location
The river bends around the cabin with spectacular views from the floor to ceiling windows. The hot tub is clean, comfortable and modern. You should know there's no wifi, but the smart tv flawlessly streamed netflix, etc. We bought wood for the fireplace, but couldn't find a lighter or matches to light it or the grill, but small things like that are inevitable in a vacation rental. The beds in the loft were comfortable as were the furniture in the living area. Kitchen was well equipped. Washer and dryer was a big plus. I would definitely stay in this cabin again. It was private and beautiful and perfect for the two of us.

Nice and relaxing spring break and this cabin.
Love this cabins location, and the layout is so fun for kids with a cool loft upstairs. Absolutely beautiful setting on the river. Nice and spaciousness, 2 bathrooms and the laundry room are great! The only complaint is the kitchen. The stove top, oven, and dishwasher are practically unusable and feel unsafe when you do have to use them. We did everything we could to not use the appliances.

Great place for Family!
We spent our white Christmas weekend with my entire family. The cabin is more beautiful than what you see in pictures, so peaceful and very relaxing. The host is professional and responce quickly. Wifi is not bad, beds are comfy except for one of the mattress in the loft that is worn-out and not comfy for two person. Luckily my brother brought his own air bed and the loft floor area is so spacious. The only suggestion I had is I think it's about time to replace the propane grill and the electric oven needs to be replaced with new ones.

Family surprise vacation
Surprised my parents and in-laws with this cabin and it wasn’t good at all…..it was amazing!! It far exceeded expectations of the cabin and views of the area. The constant sound of the river and incredibly easy access to it made the experience that much better for the family. We also did a ATV tour with Chinook ATV a short distance away and THAT was the cherry on top!! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking to getting a cabin right on sky river!!

Great location, good cabin, but needs lots of things
This is an awesome location. Being right on the river is exactly what I look for when booking a cabin as well as a hot tub. However, the amenities in this home were disappointing. They advertise central a/c, but there is no central a/c, only central air/fan (HUGE difference!), which doesn't do much when temps are 85+ (and especially at 107-113 as they were during our stay!). There is an a/c unit upstairs, but is not the right kind for the window so there is a huge opening in the window (at least 12"x14") that they shove the curtain into, and does no good unless you are sitting on the bed next to it - and spiders are coming in through the open window. They would be better off having a portable floor unit up there (or get real a/c for your guests!). The stove top is partially unusable as someone mentioned months ago (a full tea kettle is kept on 1 burner to make it stay down). Another burner had to be turned all the way up to work. The oven door does not close all the way and slams down when you open it, and it gets so hot, I got a small burn on my leg when I leaned against it. It does cook well despite it's issues, but be careful!!! There isn't much for mixing your food (i.e. pancake mix, scrambled eggs, etc) except 2 huge mixing bowls. Otherwise, you should find everything you need (except a can opener, that was broken too). Although, it would be really difficult to cook for 7 people in this kitchen due to the size of the oven & dishwasher and the broken burners. The dishwasher still isn't fixed/replaced even though that was mentioned in a review months ago. The top rack is missing wheels on both sides and it took 2 of us to line it back up multiple times during our stay (super annoying, especially when it's loaded). The hot tub was gross. It has gooey stuff all over the edges, the knobs are gone, and it was dirty; only my niece got in it. Some of the lamps are falling apart and a shade was repaired with blue painters tape (lol). I don't know if these things are a reflection of Vacasa or the owner being cheap, but I highly doubt we will be back with all the other options out there, unless some serious fixes are made. The previous guests' garbage was also left (um hello...there are bears in these woods!). They did come to get it when I contacted them, but no acknowlegement of bringing us the fans I requested as a result of their false adverstising a/c - and we checked several websites that advertise this place knowing we were having a serious heatwave with record breaking temps, or we would have brought some fans from home (they at least had 1 there). We should really be given at least a 50% refund for all of the above. Only saving grace was the beach access down the road and the beds were actually comfy! No back or hip pain! Last, this is the 2nd Vacasa home we have run out of toilet paper on. When you have 4-5 guests staying 3 nights, you need to provide more than 4 regular size rolls..I'm sorry, but c'mon, that is just cheap. There were more than enough dishwasher tabs and soap refills so I don't think you're worried about theft...We'll still give Vacasa another try, but not this cabin. I feel bad leaving this review, but we were all disappointed. My parents are old, and my mother has serious swelling issues in the heat. Because of no a/c, we couldn't even cook our dinners until 8pm each night. Everything about this was unacceptable, especially for my poor parents. T-Mobile service works great as there is a tower down the road, but AT&T does not work...you gotta hotspot on TMO! ;)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rustic River Paradise. We may choose our next vacation solely on the availability of this cabin next summer.
If I have any complaint at all (very minor) is that the hot tub is 22 years old and the jets don’t work well. The appliances and cabinets were very creaky. But, again, these are minor complaints. Still 5 stars. Can’t wait to come back!

Great as long as you’re not picky about amenities
Pros: The views are amazing with a decent amount of privacy. Great place for weekend with friends. Beds were decent enough had no complaints on comfort! shower pressure is good. There’s a lot of pots and pans and dishes for cooking.
Cons: screen door near kitchen needed to be replaced. Stove top was nearly unusable. 2 burners didn’t work and It’s very crooked/tilted. Dishwasher was constantly coming off the rack and very hard to use upper rack. Oven didn’t close all the way.
One couch was really on its last leg.
I’m pretty sure they don’t clean the hot tub between guests. Which is ok as it says serviced on wednesdays and we got there Friday. But the water really was needing to be changed with dirt sediment and cloudiness that I know wouldn’t happen in just 2 days. However it smelled like chlorine so our group was fine with it. Lastly. The place could really use WiFi. It’s got terrible service which we didn’t mind and expected since it’s in other reviews and not listed as an amenity. But I’d rather have WiFi than tv so we can stream music for games and hot tub
If you’re there to drink, hot tub, relax and enjoy the views this cabin will do the trick. Just don’t plan any extravagant meals in the kitchen!
