Absolutely beautiful and nuce and quiet.
6.0 / 10.0
The property looked less appealing on the road side. We were kind of disappointed when we pulled up.
Once we were inside, and saw the river it was much more appealing.
The lay out worked well.
We were hoping for snow, but there wasn't any, only rain.
The neighborhood seemed a little rough around the edges. One house was up late making noise.
We did enjoy our time however.

Overall great place! The only area for improvement is the BBQ. It is worn out and cooks extremely slowly. Both tanks of propane were empty when we arrived too :( We did have the foresight to bring our own tank, but ended up using the stove to cook instead because the BBQ was frustratingly slow.
Other than that the place was awesome! I hope this feedback helps! :)

We saw many beautiful little song birds including one with yellow marks on its head and wings. There were also 7 little baby geese their parents seemed so proud to show us. I watched a white bird with a red head catch and attempt to eat a fish half its size head first. It was such a nice and peaceful setting. We also found a sketch book other guests have drawn in and it was cute.

We picked this house due to it's proximity to Stevens Pass and the location right next to the river, it did not disappoint! What a perfect place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary!

Great place to come back to after skiing Stevens pass to jump in the hot tub and listen to the river

Great value for the price! There was an issue with the heater and the management sent someone over to help right away! The pillows were not comfortable but the incredible views and gorgeous cabin more than made up for these minor inconveniences.

Beautiful home and location. Kids had a blast. They definitely need to fix the disposal, water pressure, and AC. They were nice enough to have a crockpot there but the insert was cracked and wasn't super noticeable until it leaked all over the counter. Overall an excellent experience.

Perfect location on water. Excellent swimming and accommodations. We really enjoyed the property. Very private. Off the main highway. Had all that we needed for a rustic cabin visit.

Absolutely loved this cabin on the river. We had a fast weekend get away to ski at Stevens. Kids loved the outdoor fire and having access to the river. Clean, affordable, easy to fine, easy to communicate with owner/manager via text, just wish we had more time to enjoy the hot tub under the stars.

The home was clean and cozy with the fire going. The view of the stream from the living room was gorgeous. Plenty of room for a group of 6. There’s a convenience store pretty close to the home, a pizza place that delivers, and it’s just a 25 minute drive to Stevens Pass. Just bring some groceries and games. Hard to beat this value!

Amazing house! So charming and spacious. We had the most amazing time, if you’re looking for a place to stay near Stevens pass this is the one!

The place is super comfortable and only 30 minutes from Stevens Pass ski area. We loved the big kitchen, big dining room table, big hot tub, and fine game selection. Ski hard - rest easy! Nice place.

Amazing location right on the river and very peaceful. During our stay the river was slow which allowed lots of fun for us and our dog. Comfortable furniture in living room, good washer/dryer. Downside: very dirty, stained carpet downstairs; smaller bedroom downstairs smelled of mold; broken things stored everywhere (lamps, decorations); master bed makes noise w/every move; WiFi is very limited (no streaming); grimy kitchen pans (the kind w/layers of cooked on oil; hot tub was so dirty upon arrival it could not be used. Person came to clean it 3 days after we arrived and had to drain and clean it - then it was great but jets on one side don't work. Despite these shortcomings it is a great place. We would return but it's expensive for what you get in terms of upkeep.

1. 45 minute delay to access property due to incorrect entry code twice, and key access did not work.
2. Poor cleaning of bathrooms…mold in shower doors - no oversight by management of the cleaning efforts…cleaning .job was not done thoroughly
Beautiful location on the river….kids loved the Hot tub. No laundry detergent?
We have photos of the poor cleaning….cannot see where to attach?

Our family rents these types of cabins once or twice a year, throughout Washington and we usually have a wonderful time and really enjoy our stay. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of those times. * Floors of cabin were filthy...disgusting
*Sheets were dirty and full of hair, including the “extras” in the closet
*Pillows are old, dirty and stained...disgusting
*Bathrooms dirty, mildew around caulking, floors filthy, bugs in the bathtub...disgusting
*Drains in the sink and tub of main bathroom didn't drain properly
*Home said it had a/c…it doesn’t. It has a window a/c in the living room that was making a loud knocking sound and wasn't working properly. We didn’t use it because of this.
*There were half smoked cigarettes sitting on the deck railing when we arrived...disgusting
*The outside lawn was covered in goose droppings and I mean covered…everywhere you step in the grass in the back and sides had droppings…disgusting
We spent the first night we were there cleaning floors and bathrooms and washing all the sheets...the "extra" sheets in the closet were dirty and had hair on them, too so we had to wash those, as well. Several of the outlets in the kitchen don't work. The microwave above the stove doesn't work but there is a small one on the counter that works. The shelf on the door of the refrigerator was also broken, limiting space. Additionally, we were told the night before we left that the home did NOT have a grill (even though the pics showed that it did) and so we had to run out and buy a small portable grill. When we arrived at the home, there was the grill sitting right there. We didn’t even try to use it…just assumed it was another broken item, like so many in this house. We ended up leaving three days before our checkout time because we just couldn't deal with the issues anymore and no one was having a good time.
On the positive side, the location really is gorgeous and the river is very calm, allowing kids to play in it. This rental could be really nice if it was fixed and taken care of. However, renters should be informed of the actual state of the cabin, prior to renting. It’s a breach of trust for this company to advertise this as a rentable cabin and have it as dirty and broken down as it is.

The outside space here is beautiful and so relaxing. Nice and quiet, lots of room for kids to run around. The home had everything we needed. The inside space was a little dated in some areas but didn’t matter, it was clean and comfortable. Would recommend.

Perfect place for the whole family!
Our two families of four stayed here comfortably! The house wasn’t in the best condition, but it was exactly what we were looking for! I’m sure other families can sympathize that you don’t want anything too fancy when you have 4 kids under the age of 7. The hot tub was perfect, the nook upstairs made a lovely play area for the kids, and we loved the open concept of having space but still being able to get watch over the kids! There are several outlets in the kitchen that don’t work (just noting that for the owner, it didn’t negatively impact our stay) We would absolutely come back and recommend it for any family that’s looking to get away!

Beautiful area right next to the river. Hot tub was great. Lots of room for 6 adults and one pup. It was quiet and fairly clean.
Now for things that needed improvement. Only provided two dishwasher tabs for our three day trip so we had to drive into town (15-20 minutes) to buy more dishwasher fluid. The blender was leaking from the bottom so was unusable. The fan above the stove did not work. There were no cleaning products to wipe down counters and tables.
Overall a good experience but could definitely use some better attention to detail.

Cute little cabin
Great relaxing few days. The kiddos loved the river to throw rocks, roasting Marshmallow, and being in the hot tub as much as possible. Perfect place for a family with younger kids. We had everything we needed and hiking close by. The kids didn't want to leave. Thank you for the great family memories. We had a blast.

Magic
Hands down, bang for your buck, this is such a phenomenal deal. You're right on the river, you have a hottub, the beds are comfortable, the neighbors are quiet, the nature is gorgeous, you're really close to hiking trails...I can't wait to come back.

We had an amazing stay at Baring Bend Lodge!
Love big windows that provide ample viewing of the river and backyard. We would love some games at the property like dominoes, Yahtzee etc. Outside of that, it's perfect.

Beautiful place
Our family of five had a wonderful time this past week at this Baring house. The south-facing side of the house is the one with all the windows, so sunny days in the winter are glorious! The sun streams in so much that we turned the heat way down and were all in our t-shirts inside :). When we first walked in around 4:30 in the afternoon, it was a bit cold in the house, so we were very glad that the house was plenty warm all the rest of our time there. The view through those south-facing windows is our biggest plus about this house. You can see the river from both the main level and the loft level. Our kids loved the loft, of course…it really is fun for both parents and tweens, because the loft gives the kids the sense of separation they kinda want but not so much that they are alone or isolated. Kids can feel independent but not totally lonely, and parents can be happy that their kids are happy but they are not so out of sight as to feel like they are completely unsupervised or aren’t enjoying the time together as a whole family. The house is well-situated in relation to the river, and the hot tub was so fun. I do wish it hadn’t been so heavily chlorinated, but maybe that can’t be helped? The temperature of the hot tub has the possibility of going up to 104F, which even for this cold-natured lady was plenty warm to allow me to get heated up and still be warm enough to make it to the door of the house without being uncomfortable in the 30F weather. We brought our own beach towels, but when we arrived we saw that there was a stack of beach towels in a closet with the other extra towels. The dryer worked very well to keep our suits and towels dry between hot tub sessions. We only stayed a couple of days, so we didn’t use the washer. The kitchen really was supplied with lots of pots and pans big and small, cutting boards, measuring cups and spoons, jelly roll pans, serving trays and somewhat dull knives :). No totally flat cookie sheets, though. The kitchen is a bit short on mixing bowls, with only three; they are also all metal so they can’t go in the microwave. I looked through all the cabinets and drawers and did not find a Pyrex-style glass pitcher/measurer anywhere to use for heating liquids or melting butter in the microwave. I just used a cereal bowl, but no spout makes it hard to pour from those. There are lots of plates and bowls, too. The things we thought could have been better: we wish there had been more firewood supplied, or at least a notification that only one bundle is supplied and that more would need to be purchased. There is a place to the west of the cabin that had abundant firewood for us to buy, fortunately. We also would have liked even more detailed instructions for things like how to turn on the heating units at the base boards, the hot tub features, and the wood-burning stove. The light switches were nicely labeled, but as other reviewers mentioned, the main space lights are bright, and there aren’t many subtle lights like lamps available in that part of the house, so after the kids go to bed in the loft area, you can’t have the lights on in the kitchen or dining room, which is the bulk of the main space! Also as others have mentioned, the internet speed is definitely slow. We didn’t care so much, but it was definitely not sufficient for streaming a movie, for instance. The dish network was fine, but using a Netflix or a Disney+ account didn’t work so well for us. Plan accordingly! Also, we did have a question when we first arrived at the cabin, and when we tried calling the supplied number, we were on hold for so long that we gave up, plus the cell signal was weak enough that we had to use the wi-fi connection for the phone call. But overall, our experience at this house was positive, and we would love to return someday, maybe in late summer when (perhaps) the water in the river isn’t 35 degrees haha. But our winter visit was great, too! It snowed a bit overnight our first night, so we woke to a half-...

It's fine, but very worn down and not everything works.
The space is big (for our family of 4, anyway), the location on the river is lovely, and it gave us what we needed: access to Stevens resort. But I had issues with both the property and the service.
First, the property. As others have suggested, it's well worn and I'm not 100% sure it's very clean. The walls are filthy, some chairs are stained there are cracks everywhere (bathroom and kitchen tiles, walls and ceilings), peeling paint, stained/peeling dining table... it all makes you wonder if someone is taking care of this place. But the appliances were all in working order, there was plenty of hot water, and the heating (radiant and forced air) when used together worked well. The fireplace... I'm not sure if that actually works or not (see next paragraph). Wifi is VERY spotty (don't expect to watch any streaming shows) and the cell service for us was nonexistent.
My challenge was with some portions of the service. It was easy to book this place and enter - great! But then we couldn't get the fireplace to work or the hot tub to warm up. I called Vacasa (a problem because neither cell nor wifi would let me complete the call from the house) and they were not at all helpful. the response on the fireplace was to email me a link to the manufacturer. Great - I already had that. There were dozens of models to look through and none matched the one in the home, so we never got it to work. Vacasa owns the homes outright and works with local management companies for issues - but no company every helped us with this. The hot tub was also on the wrong setting, so it wouldn't heat... but there were no instructions in the house. We eventually got a text from the property manager (on the second day, because... cell service) that helped us get the hot tub on the right settings. That's great, but we went half our stay without a hot tub, which was one of the reasons we booked this place.
Honestly, how do you not leave instructions for these things in the home? And don't get me started on the incorrect instructions for the multiple a/v remotes. Just know that you're on your own in this house... it's a decent place to hang out / eat / sleep. If you want to entertain or are looking forward to the hot tub/fireplace, you might want to ask for user manuals before you arrive.

Rustic cabin with beautiful river views
The cottage was rustic, had the minimum of what we needed but we managed to make things work. Great location for ski trip, hot tub was the best, the view of the river was nice too. Overall great experience for our group!

Really needs some upgrades
Great location for visiting Stevens. The river was also beautiful. There were things that really need to be fixed. Other people have written about them in reviews but turns out they are still not fixed. Wouldn’t stay again for that reason.
What needs to be fixed/upgraded: sliding glass door, master bathroom facet, garbage disposal, the towels that are probably from 1962, non tissue paper toilet paper, cobwebs on main ceiling fan, black dust on ceiling fan in master bedroom. The hot tub water was really cloudy too. Also, one of my least favorite tasks at home is unloading the dishwasher. It was unfortunate to have to unload a completely full dishwasher when I got there.
*I will say the housekeepers do a good job of cleaning the house. It’s just that there are multiple things the homeowners need to do to fix up the place.
Wish I was leaving a better review. If you are cool with some cobwebs, broken appliances, and crusty towels, this place is actually pretty fun. We just didn’t feel all that comfortable. Hopefully some upgrades go into this place soon, because it’s a great location with a beautiful view.

Fun family stay
We loved the cabin. The location is great to skiing and we loved the hottub. Could use some TLC. Leaking under the sink, bags of trash , water went out (was a winter storm and well below freezing so could be from that) but we had a blast!thanks for the memories

Nice house with pretty view
Nice house with a pretty view of the river - sleeps several people comfortably, so a decent place if you want to head up to the mountains and get away. It is clearly a rental property, not somewhere people live regular, so it is missing some basics like reading lamps, or extra blankets, or DVDs (internet is spotty). But all in all an ok place and property management was responsive to missing items.
