Bass Lake waterfront cottage close to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Whitetail Cottage est situé sur le lac Bass, à seulement 10 minutes de Traverse City et à environ 30 minutes du Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Bass Lake est un lac tout sportif mais idéal pour la pêche et le kayak. Le chalet est situé sur 500 pieds de façade de plage de sable fin. Un barbecue au charbon de bois est sur le pont surplombant la plage et un foyer sur la plage avec beaucoup de bois de chauffage est disponible pour les locataires. Deux kayaks sont disponibles gratuitement pour les locataires et nous proposons également deux planches à pagaie pouvant être louées à la journée. Le chalet a deux chambres avec lits queen et deux salles de bains. La salle de bains à l'étage comprend une baignoire et la salle de bains au rez-de-chaussée comprend une douche à l'italienne récemment rénovée. Traverse City est célèbre pour de nombreux festivals d'été! Les propriétés au bord du lac vont vite et il s'agit d'une toute nouvelle inscription, alors agissez vite!

The cabin location was fanastic, right on the lake. Bass lake was quiet and peaceful. I enjoyed the kayaks and my son loved fishing on the dock. The house was clean and rustic. The neighborhood was private and felt safe. We enjoyed adventuring around TC and other surrounding areas. The host was easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay!

As an animal lover, it was very disturbing to find a mounted buck on the wall that was not in the listing photos. If I had been aware of this, I never would’ve rented.

This place is amazing, the beach was wonderful, everything was what we expected. They had the most amazing fireworks for the 4th, they did did not dissapoint

This was our second stay on Bass Lake, but first in this location. We really appreciated having access to a beach and kayaks, plus the fire pit was excellent. The house has all the things you would want for a long stay, plus the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. The owners were attentive and friendly, and made us feel welcome. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely rent again.
P.S. I recommend bringing a pitcher-type water filter with you. Its a little bit more convenient than buying water by the gallon.

We enjoyed our stay because of its convenience to Leelenau Peninsula. It was located on a quiet lake that was great for fishing. Bath on each level. Hosts were responsive.

The location was great, lots of local things to do and great surrounding lakes to enjoy. The beds very comfortable! The house could use a few enhancements; such as screens on the two glass sliding doors, window dressings that can actually close /provide privacy. Fridge froze items regardless of placement or temperature setting. Lake is great if you only want to fish/boat/kayak, not recommend for swimming if you don't want swim in the weeds.

We had a terrific week staying here! Pics are just as shown. House is clean, cozy, and well stocked. Very comfy beds! Loved having the 2 kayaks, and we rented the 2 paddle boards for the week, which was perfect. The lake is calm, warm, and has lots of fun sandbars to stop at. Life jackets are quite old so we just picked up a few of our own. Water shoes were an item our kids were glad they packed. We loved having a fire pit… many s’mores were enjoyed! We couldn’t believe how secluded the house was but so close to TC! 20 minutes to town where we jet skied, walked around the shops, and had a couple meals. It’s just 40 minutes to the Sleeping Bear dune hike/overlook, and 35 minutes to Fishtown. Jodie was easy to reach with a few questions and was very responsive. Highly recommend all around!

Just what we wanted. Relaxing get away cabin with the ability to fish right in front of the property. Very quiet at night. Perfect if you want to curl up with a book or if you want to kayak on the lake. We caught bass, perch and bluegill from our kayaks. Recommend bringing fishing gear if you like to fish.

The cottage is so cute and meet all of our needs. At first I was worried that there was only one shower (there are 2 baths but one has a tub and the other has a shower). The shower was on the first floor bath and made it easily accessible for everyone.
The views of the lake and the night sky by the fire pit are unbeatable. We were really close to Traverse City so I highly recommend a stay here instead of the hotels in the heart of Traverse City. I would love to stay in this same place again.

We had a blast. Cute clean cabin with everything you need. We did a lot of fun activities in the area but our kids kept wanting to go back to this cabin so we could fish, kayak, swim. Had no problems during our stay. Beds are so comfortable. Love the big walk in shower downstairs. We spent so much time just sitting in the chairs looking out at the beautiful lake.

What a view!
The pictures on the website did not give it justice. Such a cute cozy place.
We loved the lake, so calm and peaceful. We swam, floated, paddle boarded and kayaked!
Everything was so close too. I was afraid our regular stops would be far but they were less than 20 minutes!
Jody and her husband were very friendly and helpful, responsive to questions. We have already booked for next year. We love it!!

Beautiful Area
The whole area is quiet and peaceful and the neighbors were very friendly. The view from the backyard is beautiful. We spent most of our evenings around the fire pit on the beach and making s'mores with our kids. The moon over the lake at night was picturesque. The location is great, with easy access to downtown Traverse City, and Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Great little cottage with a view!
This is a great small cottage with a lovely lake view. Well equipped kitchen and the washer-dryer is a bonus. Very quiet and peaceful area of Bass Lake. This is not a swimming lake, but it is pretty to look at. We enjoyed our coffee on the deck every morning. Jody is quick to respond and a helpful host. My only request would be to clean the windows so that beautiful view shines through!

Our stay at Whitetail Cottage
We really enjoyed our stay, and found it hard to leave. The place was clean and comfortable, and the views were incredible. We enjoyed the many amenities, such as having a beach 10 feet off the deck, the kayaks that were made available (which were put to good use), and a late evening fire in the fire pit. We were close to Traverse City, which allowed us to enjoy the many adventures we went on exploring the city, and the events.
The only downfall would be the internet not cooperating with us, and the lower A/C unit. We were unable to adjust the temperature setting on the A/C, and some days got a little warm, but was manageable. Overall, we would definitely book this home again in the future for another summer get-away!

Spectacular Place!
This is our first time in Traverse City, and this place offers a wide variety of things to do- hammocking, kayaking, relaxing under the stars, pondering at the bonfire, and driving less than 15 miles to town. Our family enjoyed staying in the unit. Note: The second floor is designed for people with heights less than 6’. Thank you, Jody, for your efforts!

Family Vacation
It was a lovely house, well designed and well kept. Perfect for our family of four! It was comfortable for my four year old and one year old, and having access to the beach and lake in the back was beyond IDEAL! It was quiet and we felt like we had the lake to ourselves! We even took advantage of the kayaks that are available for use! We truly felt that it was the perfect location to get to Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Traverse City and the surrounding areas! The owners were kind and attentive, and quick to help if anything was needed! I highly recommend this property to anyone, especially families!

We had a fine time at White Tail Cottage. The features were all good to excellent and Jody was extremely helpful. The location is great for visits to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, winery tours. We'd go back again if we were in the area.
