Stayed with six friends for the weekend. Comfortable.

Property manager was very responsive with any questions and a unique place to stay in a very small town environment.

The owner was responsive and quite helpful. The house itself is old and comfortable, and the yard large enough for four children aged 1 through 7 to play in and have a good time. But some of the furniture could use some re-upholstery. Aside from that, the house accommodated 13 of us and a dog quite adequately.

It was perfect!

Just the place for a Thanksgiving get together with adult siblings. Shelburne Falls is a wonderful village with great shops and a street festival the evening after Thanksgiving. The house is large, clean, comfortable, and charmingly quirky. A lot of stairs for older knees but definitely worth it. Pleasantly surprised to find a music room. Suited us perfectly. Next time we will stay longer!

We had such a wonderful stay this weekend! It was the perfect property to house our wedding party -- spacious yet private, beautiful outdoor space, cozy communal space indoors, and stocked with everything we could possibly need. Despite having a large group, we never felt cramped or crowded. Everyone loved the unique decor and classic New England vibes throughout the house. The proximity to Shelburne Falls can't be beat -- guests had an amazing time exploring the village and appreciated how walkable everything was. We highly recommend this property for your next Western Mass getaway!

We knew this was an older three story house but it is not for older folks. Stairs were steep. Two bathrooms had showers in claw foot tubs so everyone used the walk-in shower on the 3rd floor. The weather was hot and humid while we were there so the one air conditioner (in the kitchen area) struggled to keep the room cool. It was hard to sleep in hot bedrooms, even with fans. We were not aware there were active train tracks nearby so were surprised by all the trains we heard. The back yard was pleasant and the home was within easy walking distance to town. Neighbors were friendly.

Cozy spot right near town
While the house is old, our extended family of ten fit comfortably. There are bedrooms and bathrooms on every floor. The host was very responsive.
There are a lot of stairs so get ready for a climb from the driveway to the kitchen (which is on the second floor).
The property is large and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay.

charming place
This big charming house had plenty of space for two families (and grandpa). There were written instructions, which we appreciated. The town is beautiful and relaxing. Our whole company had a wonderful time. Would go there again. Thank you!

Wonderful location
Wonderfully funky property in a lovely place. Great hikes and village life within walking distance. Heads up - Folks with mobility issues may have challenges with the stairs.

Lots of room--a few issues
The best thing about this property is that it is a large, very quirky house with lots of bedrooms, lots of character, very close and walkable to the village, so no need to drive to dinner, shopping or touring. There were a few downsides. There are 7 bedrooms, but not a comfortable place for 7 adults to sit and hang out. Chairs a little uncomfortable. There are no working TV's. When I inquired about bringing a firestick to connect, the owner did get back to me in a timely manner, but told me that there was no cable--that it had been disconnected. I was not able to use the firestick, as the TV's didn't have plugs to connect. This was deceptive, I feel, as the description states that there are TV's. Another issue is that the hallway on the 3rd floor is so narrow and close to the stairway that I worried I would fall down in the middle of the night walking to the bathroom. I understand that the old house probably is not up to code, but it was a little scary. All in all we enjoyed our stay but did have these concerns.

Wedding weekend
The house was perfect for our family wedding group. It had enough space for all to spread out and enjoy gathering as well as ample privacy. Location was perfect to attend wedding in Charlamont .

Lovely unique home.
Plenty of sleeping space for the 14 of us (although the layout of beds in each room was not the same as in listing). Three floors of bedrooms and living space, so be prepared for lots of stairs. All was clean and well-supplied.
Susan was very responsive and helpful when we had questions. Main disappointment was that there was no propane in the grill, so if you plan to use the grill - check that there is propane before the stores close!
The yard is a nice size for being outside and playing frisbee and yard games. Eating outside takes a bit of work since the kitchen is on the second floor, so carrying food down to the outside eating space was definitely a group project!
Plenty of parking space for our 6 vehicles.
Beautiful area with lots of lovely things to see.

Charming house!
We really enjoyed this house for a graduation weekend with extended family. It has wonderful New England charm, in a terrific location very close to the downtown village and the beautiful Bridge of Flowers. We were impressed with how well equipped it was, and the owners are super-responsive and friendly!

Warm, cozy house in a great location
Great house, loved using the wood burning stove, plenty of space, great location for driving along the spectacular Mohawk Trail to the Berkshires, wonderful shower and hot, deep baths.

Classic New England Home
The home is well-maintained c.1800s with original pine flooring, period details, thoughtful decor throughout, and an idyllic backyard. Susan is an excellent host and is very responsive. The home is a short walk to Shelburne Falls village center, with antique shops, bakeries and views of the Deerfield River. Definitely would recommend!

Nice Big Historic House
Spent 9 days over Christmas with family. Everyone really enjoyed the location, lots of winter activities. The house is historic and was spotless with comfortable beds and LOTS of room. Easy walk to downtown Shelburne falls where there are several good eateries, a grocery store, Pharamcy and a Candlepin bowling alley (really fun). In season, the flower bridge over the river is strikingly beautiful.

Wonderful Spot
Great location, cozy home with lots of space, perfect for exploring the area and as a home base for local skiing. Can’t wait to go back - thanks!!!

Great house great town
Such a beautiful antique home, from the fun art work everywhere and the wooden floors and beams.the seven private bedrooms, bathroom on all three floors. The owner and housekeeper attentive yet invisible. Our only regrets were not hiring the housekeeper to cater a meal or two and not having the time to get in a few strings of bowling at the adorable eight lane candle pin alley/bar. Otherwise we hit multiple restaurants, pubs, antique shoppes, book stores, clothing stores.... Shelburne Falls has everything. Don’t miss the glacial pot holes, or dip a line in the Deerfield River. Better yet take a guided raft down the rapids. Oh yes, we took a couple of short hikes with amazing rewarding views. Four days, 14 guests and we left wanting to do more! Thank you so much for sharing your home and town.

Charming house near many picturesque settings.
Susan graciously welcomed us to the property. We very much enjoyed reuniting with family members at her commodious house so close to the center of Shelburne Falls and Buckland. We had everything we needed in a lovely corner of Massachusetts. Many thanks!

Great spot for two families.
We really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room to spread out and a great backyard for the kids. The kitchen was well stocked. It was a short walk to town, which was super convenient. We highly recommend the house.

Family Fun in Shelburne Falls
We really enjoyed our get away. Susan our host, was helpful and available if needed. Location was great, short walk to downtown and The Flower Bridge. There are a lot of steps but not a problem for anyone in our group. Only negative was the train that went by a couple of times a night. Didn't detrack from our trip but might not be good for light sleepers.

Susan’s an accommodating, wonderful host, spot is beautiful and very close to town while still feeling quiet and “country.” Highly recommended!

Lovely home and backyard
Lots of bedrooms and character in this beautiful home. A large private-feeling outdoor space too. The downtown of Shelburne Falls is a couple of blocks away and has fun book and fudge stores among others. The home was perfect for a mini-family reunion. The property owner was helpful and communicated clearly. Highly recommend.

My girlfriends and I had a lovely stay at this home. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house has a rustic charm. We hope to come back again!

Larger home with character
We had 10 in our group and we were all comfortable. The home has a lot of steps but that didn't detract from our fun. The kitchen is on the second floor and that makes for a great place for lively dining conversations. Plenty of room !! The town is great is the quentisential New England town: small but friendly. We were there for a graduation (Amherst) and the home served as a necessary break from all our activities. While some luxuries were not available, (central air), we didn't need it. The weather was perfect and the house has high ceilings which allowed refreshing breezes in! Susan is very attentive and responsive.

lots of room
We enjoyed our stay in this large home in Shelburne Falls. The house is very roomy with seven bedrooms and three full baths. Be aware, there are a lot of stairs to climb!
The owner was lovely and made sure we knew to notify her with any needs. Her housekeeper met us on arrival and showed us around the house.
The downtown is right there and very quaint. The Bridge of Flowers was a highlight. I would recommend this home for a large group.

Was a lovely get away
The house was beautiful and the hosts were extremely warm and considerate. All of us had a wonderful time.
3.0
Functional and moderately comfortable
This house offers a few excellent features. The owner is responsive and accommodating. For example, during our stay, the outside lights stopped working and Susan sent someone to fix them immediately. She also responded quickly to emails, texts, and phone calls. The house is conveniently located within walking distance of Shelburne Falls, where there are restaurants, shops, and other services. The backyard is lovely and big and is a great place to grill and eat when the weather allows. There is a full bathroom on every floor, which is a rarity in old houses.
There are a few issues that travelers should be aware of before booking. The house has a pervasive smell of mold. The furnishings are old and many are in a state of disrepair. The house is clean, but many shelves and closets have personal items (presumably the owner's) stored on or in them. The cookware is old and while there are ample glasses for wine, there are few juice glasses or coffee mugs. WIFI is spotty and difficult to connect to. The rooms on the third floor of the house are hot in summer weather and need additional fans to make occupants comfortable.
Overall, there are few options for large groups in this area and we were grateful to be able to have a place that allowed all twelve of us to stay together. But travelers should be prepared for a functional and only moderately comfortable stay.

Delightful farmhouse in delightful village
Had a great stay in Shelburne Falls in Susan's rambling, comfortable and roomy home. 7 adults had our pick of multiple bedrooms on 3 floors (no one felt short-changed), with bathrooms on each floor. The home was clean and ready for us. The second floor spacious kitchen was where we spent time together, with plenty of room around the large farmhouse table to enjoy coffee and breakfast. It's an easy 5-10 minute walk into Shelburne Falls, which has multiple restaurants, a few small grocery stores, plenty of places to for snacks, drinks and conversation, and excellent candlepin bowling. Our destination for the weekend was the Green River Festival, where we spent our days and some of our evenings. Note: if you want a sleek modern open-plan house, the many charms of Susan's home will be lost on you. We heartily enjoyed the tasteful funky artwork and smaller rooms typical of older houses. Susan and her housekeeper provided excellent and responsive help, and were there to greet us when we arrived and orient us. A 5 star experience. We would DEFINITELY stay again.

This house is the perfect combination of antique charm, gracious living, and creature comforts. From the lovingly restored wide-plank pine floors to the wood-burning fireplace to the striking and handsome decor in every room (seven bedrooms!), I felt immediately happy and relaxed on entering, and those feelings only deepened throughout our four-day stay. There are three levels with a full and modern bath on each--including a gorgeous and invigorating spa shower on the top floor. The renovated, open-plan kitchen was clearly designed by someone who loves cooking and community--it gives onto a spacious and inviting dining and sitting area. You don't need to be a believer of any kind to "get" the appropriateness of the small Buddha statue out back, as peace and calm seem to reign over this majestic house. Also out back is a large and museum-worthy table for al-fresco dining, plus acres of woodland. From this welcoming property, you can walk--within minutes!--over the lovely Bridge of Flowers and onto the charming main street of Shelburne Falls. There you'll find all manner of interesting mom-and-pop enterprises, plus the Gypsy Apple, a world-class restaurant (no exaggeration: take it from one who's been lucky enough to eat in many a Manhattan destination restaurant) (and reserve early: it seats a couple dozen). Within that same few-minute walk from the house, you can do some yoga in a splendid studio overlooking the Deerfield River, or gaze onto some full-fledged geological wonders known as the "glacial potholes." I was heavy-hearted upon leaving; I can't wait to return.

This charming, welcoming home was a wonderful vacation spot for our special family get together (my mother's birthday). During our week at this home we had eleven people in our group and were able to all comfortably gather together in the kitchen/great room for meals, drinks and games. The backyard also provided a peaceful spot for gathering and barbecuing. The house was very comfortably furnished with a great cook's kitchen. We also enjoyed the location of the home. It was so nice to get up in the morning and be able to walk into town for our coffee, paper and muffins. The Deerfied River also provided us with several great uncrowded swimming holes. We had a wonderful week and the owners were very helpful and pleasant.

This was a great location for our birthday celebration and rafting adventure. The house easily and comfortably accommodated 13 of us. It is a short walk to town and close to swimming, tubing and rafting. Everyone loved walking through town swimming near the bridge on North River and rafting on the Deerfield River.
The owners were very helpful, pointing out local attractions, stores and highlights.
We had a fabulous time. I would defintely recommend the house to friends.

There's no better word to express thanks for our stay at your wonderful house than 'delightful' -- from top to bottom, beginning to end. There is a cheerfulness in the air, and the scent of love and care. Every room is a different experience, every door opens on a new feast for the eyes. There is something, some favorite space, for everyone who spends time there.
We loved cooking in your charming and spacious country kitchen (generously stocked with spices and condiments, thank you!), relaxed and read endlessly on the very private back lawn (with little buddha looking over us), enjoyed the short walk into your wonderful town. A highlight for us was tubing down the river one hot, lazy afternoon. Delicious and memorable. Can't wait to return.
