We really enjoyed our stay. The inside was clean, airy and fresh. The outside was spectacular. The kids loved waking up to the cows, and fishing on the dock. The kitchen was stocked, the bathroom had fresh towels, and the beds had nice bedding. The farm house was a quick 12 minute drive to all-star village as well. We definitely would stay there again.

This is a beautiful location for Cooperstown All Star Village families. Our son stayed in the Village with his team for the week while the rest of our family stayed here. The owners were very friendly and easily accessible. The property is beautifully landscaped with its own fishing pond and views of the mountains in the distance. The cows were amusing to watch each day as they migrated to locations near and far from the home. We also spotted wild turkeys and groundhogs. I felt like we were "glamping" because we had the best of both worlds - outdoor activities such as fishing at the pond and campfires under the stars. Yet we slept, cooked, and showered very comfortably indoors. It's a 15 minute drive to the All Star Village. Other properties are closer but this was worth the drive for comfort and charm.

We stayed here while my son was at Cooperstown All star village for the week! Clean and everything you need is there! Less than 15 min drive to see my son play baseball. The farm life was awesome for my kids to see and the owners are nearby and so helpful and kind! We had a great week and highly recommend!

We were in Oneonta for a week long stay while our son played at All Star Village for a baseball tournament. Great property well appointed, certainly far better than staying in an inn or camping at a cabin. Quaint farm property with great hosts. Fishing pond, mooing cows, 2 rooms, cable TV and l fast Wifi ability to grill out and fire pits. Would very much recommend!

We spent a wonderful week at the pond while our son played at Cooperstown All Star Village. The photos do not do this place just slice. Home is situated on a private park-like property with cows, wild turkeys, a few groundhogs and an amazing pond (full of fish!). All while being in a great location, close to restaurants, shopping and to all star village. Alysia and her husband are wonderful, attentive hosts. It’s apparent that they take a lot of pride in their property and it shows with how well maintained the grounds are and how clean and well kept the home is. One of the nicest properties our family has ever stayed at - you will not be disappointed.

Beautiful setting, very quiet. Seems quite new. In great condition. Convenient to many stores but you still feel like you are tucked away in the woods. The kitchen is adequate but not a lot of counter top space if you plan to cook. Perhaps could add a rolling island to accommodate this. All amenities were very good. Well appointed.

Abner’s Retreat was exactly what we needed after long days of watching baseball games at the Cooperstown Dream Park. The ride to and from the park was about 25 minutes each way but we looked forward to returning each day to the quiet relaxation of the beautiful farm and it’s little pond. We enjoyed fishing at the pond and even caught a few different varieties of fish. The house was in perfect condition, exactly as described. The views from the back porch were amazing! We highly recommend this peaceful retreat!

The house is in the country but very close to town. The Walmart is just 5 minutes down the road from the house. The owners are very nice people, they were extremely helpful. The boys enjoyed the fishing pond next to the house. The house has two out door fire pits next to the pond which made for some nice family evenings around the fire pit making s’mores. We enjoyed our stay much nicer than staying in one of the local hotels for our Cooperstown visit. My son played at the All Star Village, the house was about 15 minutes away.

Absolutely loved staying at Abner's Retreat while I visited my daughter at Hartwick College. The location was easy to find and convenient to many stores. Alysia was incredibly helpful and provided us with tons of suggestions for things we could do locally. The home is immaculate and comfortable. We loved fishing in our private pond and sitting out by the campfire. Definitely going to visit again!

Spent our July week watching our son play at All Star Village. The getaway at the Howard farm was a great choice. New building and great scenery! Others on our team were complaing about their much older accommodations in town. Both of our kids loved the cows and the fishing pond as well. Highly recommended!

Being about 12 mins from Cooperstown All Star Village this was the perfect retreat for the family while my son played baseball. Alysia and Tom are super nice people and really great hosts. Everything was well thought out in design and immaculate in condition. You wouldn't know until you ventured out but all the stores and restaurants you might need are just a few mins down the road. The setting is unique with a pond in the backyard and cows grazing outside your window, hills in the background. It was super quiet. You can't get any of that at the local hotel and when staying for a week having the kitchen and home like amenities made all the difference and saved us from having to eat every meal out. Tom even lit a fire in the pit on our last night as the sun set which was much appreciated and so relaxing.

We stayed in this darling farmhouse/apartment while my twin boys played at Cooperstown All Star Village and this was just the perfect place for my Dad and I during their tournament. Alysia made it very easy for us to meet her when we arrived in town and she was very sweet and welcoming. She was available for any follow up questions or assistance, which we really didn't need. Everything we needed was available. The place was super clean and a wonderful peaceful retreat in between the boys' games and trips into Cooperstown to the Hall of Fame and other events like heading over to the Ommegang brewery. The place was very close to all we needed. We were able to have a nice breakfast in the apartment before our day began and enjoyed a few naps in between and especially enjoyed the quiet evenings with the lightening bugs and watching the starts near the water. What a beautiful retreat on our baseball adventure and a great way to enjoy the country side. Thank you again for letting us stay at your retreat, we look forward to visiting in the future and will make sure to recommend this cute apartment for friends and family who might be visiting the area!

Fabulous! Quaint and cozy, just what we needed for a family weekend. Alysia's unit was immaculate and made us feel right at home. Close to the mall and restaurants. I would definitely consider staying again.

This cabin was perfect for our family. Close to the All Star Village, restaurants, and stores yet provided immense privacy on this beautiful property on a hill. Rental is new and well appointed. The view outside was wonderful and fishing at the pond next to the cabin was a great bonus. Best part of our visit has to be the thoughtful owners, the Howards. They stayed in communication with me from booking, to arrival, to departure. I would highly recommend this property and personally hope my younger son will play baseball here in a future summer so that we could try to rent this property again.

Nestled in the hill of a beautiful farm in Oneonta, NY this immaculate home is the perfect place for families looking for an alternative to hotels in the area. This rental is brand new and immaculately renovated. It was so comfortable for our family to stay here! We could not have asked for better accommodations. It was private, yet still convenient to stores and restaurants. We enjoyed the fire pit at night right on the pond. The owners, who are right next door, were so nice and welcoming and very helpful with suggestions on what to do in the area. I highly recommend this rental.
