Dar Rafik is in a great location just a couple of minutes up a hill from the Medina entrance. Personally, we prefer staying outside of the Medina in Chefchaouen because getting your luggage up all the stairs and through the narrow streets with all the shops would have been a nightmare. It was perfect to visit the Medina and the rest of the town easily. The breakfast was very lovely and we liked our room. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but unlike other guesthouses and riads we stayed in throughout our time in Morocco, this one doesn't really have a common area other than the rooftop terrace. In that sense, it was more like a hotel. For us, it was fine. They were very kind to let us store our luggage in an unused room for a couple of hours since our transport to Tangier was after our check-out time.
We had a bit of trouble finding the place since there's two locations on Google Maps and the link provided to us took us to the wrong location, which was just a small street away, but it was a little confusing.

The location and the price is the primary value of this hotel. The room is quite spacious. The breakfast awesome.
The bed is not that comfortable.

La decoración, el servicio y lo cerca de la medina que estaba
Las camas y la luz entraba a la habitacion

Parcheggio vicino, posizione centrale, ben ristrutturato, ottima doccia, colazione sul tetto.
I letti sono troppo rigidi. Gli spazi abitabili sono limitati

A very tasty breakfast on the terrace.
The interior in a traditional Moroccan style looked magical during the day and night.
A very good location.
The bathroom was small.
My windows faced the house where roosters lived so they could be loud in early mornings (it worked well with the earplugs though).
It would be nice to have an ironing desk.

Traditionally Moroccan
Great location
Not easy to park
We had to wait for hours before manager came back for us to collect our luggage, we had a 7 hour drive ahead so it was important to leave at a reasonable time.

We booked the hotel just a few hours while travelling on the bus. We didn't like the fact that the hotel was closed when we arrived. There was no one in the reception. We had to wait for 15 minutes outside for someone to come and open the hotel for us. We had some issues with the cleanliness of the hotel and decided not to stay with them. But booking had already charged us 52 euros, and when we requested a waiver for the cancellation, we were assured by the person they will be speaking to the owner of the hotel. Till now we haven't been refunded for the booking which we haven't stayed in.

loved how the place was decorated and it was nice and clean . Location was really good .
smoke from the neighbouring building prevented us from sitting on our balcony as it was billowing up to us.

Oumaima, was extremely helpful before arriving, while staying. She went above and beyond and observed my birthday and asked the breakfast staff (who was also very kind) to wish me a good day, very thoughtful, very rare. Her english was very good as well as helped us to find the Grande Taxi location in Chefchaouen for our journey to Tangier the next day. She definitely made the stay.
We had the cheaper room on the 1st floor. However photos on the internet are of the top floor rooms, so we lacked any view of city or mountains, no balcony, and thus was very dark. I'd suggest that photos to each of the different rooms equate to the photos on the web. The wifi in that bottom room was also very bad to non existent. The mattress very hard as well, but found that most beds in Morocco to be hard.

For sure it was the best breakfast I ate in Morocco - fresh, varied and plenty. Room was nice and clean. Also equipped with fridge. Small but cozy terrace on the top - ideal to enjoy breakfast. Nice place to enjoy medina.
During evening can be little bit noisy. Both - on street and on the other side of the wall. But this is Morocco ;).
Very hard beds ;).

Oumeima and Marnia made our visit really special. we felt very comfortable because of the two. Both showed us the beautiful city Chefchaoen and helped us a lot during our visit to see the best places in town and near town. Also the breakfast was really tasty with fresh Moroccan mint tea. We loved the visit! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
everything was perfect!

For breakfast I would rate 15/10. Lots of delicious and a variety of options! It felt like a lunch :)
Internet is very very very bad. I would rate 1/10. I had meetings for 3 days during our stay here but had to cancel all my meetings due to poor wifi

the room was amazing, also the breakfast (huge and delicious).
everything nice

The hotel is 1-2 minutes walk from the road, which is a big plus because we didn't have to drag our luggage inside the medina.
Good and clean facilities, with a couch and 2 twin beds. Bathroom is clean, with bidet and good water pressure. The interior design is also nice.
Decent breakfast (bread, jams, coffee, orange juice, etc.) but don't expect any meat. Breakfast is served in their rooftop with a view of Chefchaouen.
Lamia (the manager) is nice and can be easily reached by Whatsapp if you have any questions.
When we arrived, there was no staff at the reception. When we went up to look for them, they seemed like they were having a chat in our room and I found them sitting on our beds. They immediately asked us to come in and take the room. This is a minus point because they just sat on our beds before we came in. Unfortunately, there are no other rooms available and we were tired so we just took the room they gave us.
We also had a problem with the front door of the dar. The staff gave us a key to open it because the reception isn't open 24/7. When we tried to open it when we came back in the evening, the key would not work properly. It took us several tries to make it work. Lamia came to teach us how to open the door but I got locked outside with her again! The lock must really have a problem. However, these issues are minor setbacks compared to the good facilities and cleanliness. Dar Rafik is still better than some other riads/dars we stayed at during our Morocco trip.

Everything! Location, airconditioning, wifi, BREAKFAST 😍🥰 Lovely employee, always available,...
Couple of stairs more than we used to - but only because of our large baggage. And maybe umbrellas on the terrace during the day (sun is really strong), i.e. smokers going up. Other than that, best accomodation in whole Morocco!

Located near the main entrance of the Medina, friendly staff, clean, spacious rooftop terrace, where traditional breakfast is served.
There is shortage of water. We arrived at the afternoon and could not wash the hands even. In the evening only one person of the family took a shower and the water supply stopped.
The receptionists’ explanation was the property could not do anything, it was a city problem. Provided we paid 2,00 euro city tax each, the municipality could invest in water pipelines -;)
Fortunately, we stayed only one night in Chefchaouen.
At the night we wanted to open the front door, another couple was fighting with the key. The key system needs to be checked. Fortunately, a girl
from the neighbourhood helped us to get into
the dar.
