Our stay at Serenity South was very nice. The house is so adorable. The whole process was easy. Highly recommend!

Great place.

We had a family issue come up the night before our check-in date and we needed to cancel. Jo worked with us to reschedule the visit to another date. We look forward to traveling there and appreciate the host accommodating our last minute needs!

This house is so clean and has everything you need for your stay! Probably the MOST well thought out place we've ever stayed for our traveling needs and convenience. Beds are comfortable! BUT, light sleepers beware.. the railroad tracks are nearby (the trains run in the middle of the night) and the traffic near riverfront on a Saturday night was loud til early morning. You can hear every hot rod motorcycle or sports car with loud exhaust that approaches / speeds off from the nearby stop sign.

This was a very cute home - well maintained! Perfect location. Had everything we needed. Very clean!!

This home is quaint with a great deal of character, it is an historic home with all the modern amenities. It was equipped with everything we needed without any clutter. The host was easy to get in contact with and added so many thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers and baked goods to greet us. The home has a beautiful backyard garden that you are able to enjoy as well. It is an easy walk to restaurants, shops and the riverfront. There were plenty of pillows and extra blankets and having fans available was nice also. The living room couch is very comfortable and I enjoyed the books about local art and history. We would definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful weekend we had! The house was everything it said it was and more (blueberry scones)! All in all it was a great place to stay with plenty of room. We'll be back again, next time we're in town!

Our family of 5 (3 children-8, 9 & 12) enjoyed a brief getaway to Cape and was thrilled to find this wonderful place to stay. Everything was just as it was described and the home was very comfortable and clean. The location was perfect for getting out and enjoying the downtown area as we were able to shop the flea markets, enjoy the restaurants and see the historical sights without having to drive to them. The hosts were wonderful and made the stay a special experience for our kids. As for all the practical things you’d look for in a home to make a comfortable stay, they have it all and more. The beds were excellent, the kitchen was stocked and everything you would need was thought of and provided. If you’re looking for restaurant suggestions, Broussard’s Cajun Cuisine (best catfish ever) & Pagliai’s Pizza were excellent choices. We will certainly be back to enjoy this wonderful home… “thank you” to the hosts who made our stay a memorable, pleasant and comfortable experience!

Was great!

We were looking for a place to stop overnight on our way back from our trip and we wish we could have stayed longer! The property was amazing. The backyard we good for my children to run around and play in. The house was well decorated and stocked. The surrounding town is beautiful. The downtown is within walking distance. We stumbled upon the Saturday morning Farmers market. This is definitely a place that we would come back to. Jo was great at keeping us in the loop.

Second time staying for a girls weekend. Always clean. Wondering if someone was staying/living in the basement? There was a child crying and it sounded like that is where it was coming from. Expected someone next door as it is a duplex. Also time for new mattresses.

The property is well kept for an older place. It’s a short walk to downtown Cape Girardeau and had all of the things we needed for a short girls weekend.

We needed a place to stay and most of the hotel had no vacancy. Booked 2 nights at this lovely quaint older home and couldn’t have been more pleased. Definitely worth booking again.

We loved everything about our stay!! We hope to stay there again if we are ever in the area!!

We only stayed one night, but after a long day of travel, the location was perfect to walk around and stretch our legs, grab a bite and listen to some live music before sleeping comfortably and getting back on the road. Should the opportunity arise to visit Cape Girardeau again we would most definitely stay here again.

We had a delightful holiday in Cape Girardeau! Walking distance to shopping and dining. The house was wonderful with everything we needed for preparing our Thanksgiving feast! We intend to come back again!

Great stay! Great location

We were in town for a wedding and really enjoyed this little place! It was cute and cozy and worked well for our needs. I loved the back balcony with the view of the changing leaves in the yard. The kitchen was pretty well stocked though we didn’t need to use it.

We had such an incredible time at serenity south! The property was amazing, and so was the community. The hosts made everything easy and made sure we had everything we needed, even made recommendations for some fantastic restaurants in town. We will absolutely be coming back next time we are in Cape!

We arrived late but clear directions made it easy to settle in. Having fresh muffins to greet us was extra special. Comfy beds , spacious and well appointed house. Very close to restaurants and shops. We would definitely go back.

Check in and out super easy, home was immaculate and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. However, if we were staying longer, it would be nice to have a washer/dryer. Home is close to main street with lots of shops and restaurants. Highly recommend!

This house was great, host was one of the best we have stayed at. Clean, very safe and we felt it was a great price.
