House was just as advertised. We especially loved the poolside bar area!!! We are already re-booking for next year.

We had a good time at the beach. Pool was perfect for staying cool in while not at the beach. Beautiful ocean view off porch and plenty of room for all. Easy walk to the beach.

We loved having quick beach access and the pool with outdoor kitchen/bar area. We had 12 adults and 7 small children and there was plenty of room.

We visited OIB in June of 2022, family of 19...4 siblings and their children, plus grandma. The house was a perfect fit for us, with 4 master suites and 4 rooms with double beds. It was large enough that we could spread out and have our own space, yet gather together in the living room, kitchen, deck or pool bar. The pool bar was a HIT and was used daily! The pool was perfect and the beach was just a few steps away. We loved the ice makers in the kitchen and pool bar...a huge plus! To be perfectly honest, I ranked the accuracy of the online listing a 4 only because it doesn't give this place a full description of how wonderful it was. The only thing I would suggest adding is that linens (bedding, towels, etc.) need to be ordered and not supplied by the house in the description. This caught us a bit off guard, but Heavenly Scent had them delivered and ready for us when we arrived. The hosts were extremely patient with us, checked in upon arrival and the day we left to ensure all was good. They were very responsive during the entire process! We will be recommending this house to others and would go back in a heartbeat! Thanks for a GREAT vacation!

The kitchen was so well stocked. Loved the view across to the ocean. The bedrooms and baths were large and spotless. The pool area was our go-to spot (13 of us!) we loved the way the decks made extra gathering room - especially for our family dinner. Thank you for everything!

My family & I rented this property during Memorial Day week & had an awesome time. In years past we rented 6 bedroom houses but after adding 2 family members this past year we had to upgrade to 7 bedrooms. This house was beautiful & had a lot of nice features & accommodated all 18 of us very well. The location is very good too with beach access almost right across the street. Also, the communication with the owner Billie was excellent. Anytime I had a question she would respond promptly. We would definitely rent this house again.

A group of college friends and I - ten adults total - rented this house for a wonderful weekend. Everything was in working order, the location could not have been better, and the owners were a pleasure to deal with. Absolutely recommended!

Our family of 40 visited OIB for a reunion this past week, and several family units shared 274 West 1st Street. Our experience was outstanding from our initial contact with the owners, who were informative, prompt, honest and welcoming. The entire process leading up to our stay was quick and easy, with good communication and quick responses from the owners on questions and concerns. The property itself is beautiful. All descriptions and pictures presented here on VRBO proved accurate. Our favorite features of the property were: 1) the decks, which all afforded views of the ocean directly across the street. We sat in the rocking chairs all week, drinking coffee and watching the pelicans in the morning and enjoying the ocean breezes and sound of the waves under moonlight in the evenings. 2) The pool, which was in almost constant use from the time we arrived. It was a welcome break from the warm sand and salt water, and provided those less beach-inclined in the group a place to lay out and enjoy the sun. 3) The large capacity under-counter ice-maker, which saved our thirsty group from having to run out for bags of ice all week. 4) Proximity to the beach. The public access point was literally 150 feet down the street. Unless you are going to get a 1st row place....you can't really beat that. The only issues we had all week had to do with the technology of the house. The television being hooked up to a audio receiver proved a difficult test for the techies in our group, and we struggled figuring out the exact system for proper use all week (NOT THAT YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING TV AT THE BEACH ANYWAY). Also, there are outdoor speakers on the main floor deck, but we couldn't seem to get them to work in balance with the indoor speakers. In order to get any music outside you could hear, the volume had to be turned up to a point where the indoor speakers were intolerably loud. *DISCLAIMER* the owners worked with us all week to get the technology working, and even had a local cable rep sent out to the house when we had trouble with the wi-fi. The level of customer service they provided cannot be understated. Many in our group stated upon departure that this was their favorite beach vacation ever, and a major reason why was 274 west 1st street and its outstanding owners. You will not be disappointed.

This was our second year in this house for our annual Memorial Day trip. We had 6 couples and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen and den area have a fantastic view of the ocean and we spent a lot of the weekend hanging out on the large porch. The beach access is right across the street so it was very easy to come back to the house to grab lunch. The house is laid out perfectly for large groups. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Both master bedrooms on the top floor have really nice tile showers. This house would be great for families as well. The kitchen has fantastic brand new appliances and even a separate ice maker (which is very helpful when taking coolers on the beach). Also the house has plenty of everything - pots, pans, silverwear, plates, cups, etc. Even 2 blenders and a crock-pot. Everything was immaculate when we arrived. The elevator was great for getting luggage and groceries up and down. The owners have been so nice to work with. They always responded to emails very quickly and even called us after we checked in to make sure everything was ok. We love Ocean Isle and have been going for many years. This is one of the nicest houses on the island and allowed us to have such a relaxing vacation! We hope to be able to come back again next year!

We had a" ladies only" weekend & all 11 of us were blown away by the wonderful accommodations. Everything was even better than we had pictured it to be. The best experience,however, was the owners who went out of their way to work with us. We would definitely go back there again!
