Ce gîte de charme historique est attaché à notre maison et notre année maison d'hôtes. Il se trouve dans une crique tranquille avec accès aux 5 grands lacs autour de lui. Il est à 5 miles de la ville de Millinocket et est facile d'accès. Il est un endroit merveilleux pour les activités nautiques ou tout simplement se détendre par l'eau. Il est aussi un excellent point de départ pour la région Katahdin y compris Baxter State Park. Nous avons un bateau à aubes, deux canots, kayaks et deux disponibles. Observer les oiseaux, feuilles peep, montre l'orignal, rafting, randonnée, kayak, nager, pêcher, x-country ski, raquettes, VTT, motoneige ou tout simplement se détendre et profiter de la vue. Nous sommes à proximité d'un réseau de sentiers. Il suffit de laisser la maison et a frappé les sentiers.

The Short version. UNREAL and you will NOT find a better host then Don and Faye. Don is a wealth of information on the area. Both will interact and much or as little as you’d like. The ONLY pit fall is no laundry on-site and the in town self-service laundry mat (apx 7-miles) isn’t real accommodating. But if I could leave a 6-Star I would!!!!! Thanks Donny (Mr. Perfect, lol) and Faye, we WILL be back.

Went up Fishing in October with my two sons and a friend. Faye and Don are awsome hosts house has everything you need Inside is full off great photos and vintage decor. There are multiple Books and maps about Maine and its history. Wifi ad satellite tv where great.plenty of towels, blankets and pillows for our stay. We caught bass pickerel and fallfish in the Lake the cove is protected from the wind so it is perfect fo kayaking. They just added a double kayak so plenty of boats. They thought of everything from fishing gear to firewood. AWSOME place close to Kathadin with everthing you need 5 stars look forward to staying again.Thank you Faye and Donny

This property is on a stunningly beautiful lake. Check-in was easy and we appreciated learning about the history of the house. The kitchen was well stocked and comfortable. We spent time kayaking the lake. This was a quiet and comfortable location.

The hosts Donnie and Faye live on site and go above and beyond to help you feel at home, and are more than happy to share their knowledge of the area, or will let you be if that's what you prefer. My family got way more than we expected here and would not hesitate to go back.

We spent a lovely long vacation weekend with our 3 little girls on the lake. We loved the decor and the books and our kids enjoyed the stuffed animal collection. The kayaking was really very beautiful and the special boat trip around the lake that Don gave us was a very special way experience to cap our stay. It was so nice to meet such sweet, welcoming and acomidating hosts. The girls say thank you for the special rocks they received. We will definitely try to return for another trip in the future. Thank you.

We've stayed in a few lakeside cottages, but this one was different: a Victorian farmhouse full of antiques! Very comfortable, right on a lake, and about as close as you can get to Mt. Katahdin and the rest of Baxter State Park. The hosts Don and Faye are above and beyond.

interesting cottage built in 1905; hosts are very welcoming; lake is really pretty, but the mosquitos were epic when we were there; bed linens could use updating; we really enjoyed our stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Norcross Cottage. We love historical homes, and this one had everything we were looking for especially being close to the water to get out on the lake with the kayaks/canoes that were provided. The place is located in a quiet cove, but you can walk down the road to the boat launch and the more open part of the lake. We drove back and forth to Baxter State Park several times, and into town for some meals, and Faye and Don were helpful with suggestions on places to eat and where to go to see moose! Not having been to Maine before, the historical background that Don gave was interesting, as were some of the books that are there.

Our 9 day stay was amazing. The place is a slice of heaven in our everyday hectic lives. The cottage had everything we needed including kayakes and canoes plus a boat dock for our boat. We spent 5 of the best days on the boat exploring the various lakes and islands.
The owners were extremely nice and knowledgeable of the area. You couldn’t pick better owners to rent property from.
If you are looking for peace and quiet and great time with family/friends then this place is for you.

What a wonderful way to spend a weekend! Don and Faye were warm, welcoming and responsive. They provided helpful information that aided us in successfully exploring the area, when we weren't fishing right off the dock and boating on the lovely, peaceful cove. The cottage is spacious and well-stocked, and we loved the AC! We would love to return, hopefully for a longer stay in the future!

We enjoyed our stay very much. It is a very cute house. The hosts were very nice. We enjoyed looking at the rock collection. I would highly recommend staying there if visiting the Millinocket area.

If you enjoy charming older homes, this is the place for you! Don and Faye are gracious hosts at their lovely lakefront property. We were there to pick up our thru hiker finishing the Appalachian Trail and this was an ideal location for that. That kept us busy so we didn't take advantage of the lake but it was a beautiful setting. They also gave us great recommendations about where to eat. We really enjoyed our stay and would return there if we are ever in the area again. We hit it just perfect for the Fall colors.

Faye and Don were great hosts. The house is in a very quiet small neighborhood right on the lake. You can kayak right from the property or drive up the road a bit and find hundreds of miles of sight seeing and hiking trails. Perfect little vacation.

Seclusion on a quiet lake is just what we were looking for and Faye and Don were great hosts and provided a great detailed Golden Road guide. Hiking, kayaking and scenic drives abound with Baxter State Park and the Golden Road nearby. Thanks Don and Faye!

Don and Faye were fantastic hosts! The home was conveniently located near Baxter State Park, clean, and with very comfy beds!
We borrowed the kayaks on the lake for a beautiful view of the mountains and finished our nights off gathered around a fire under the stars. This was such a perfect getaway for friends. We would absolutely stay here a second time when we're back in the area

Faye and Don were great hosts. Place is on a group of 5 lakes and great spot to visit Baxter State Park. We used their kayaks one day to check out the lakes and also went on a boat ride with Faye and Don.Place is clean and well equipped for a nice vacation. As mentioned in previous reviews the train went by a couple of nights and my wife and I thought this was very cool. Highly recommend staying here.

Loved the location on the lake and the use of canoes and kayaks and swimming. Beds were extremely comfortable. Hosts were incredibly nice and informative. They even took us out on their pontoon boat for a tour of the connecting lakes. It's about 30 minutes from the entrance of Baxter State Park.

Absolutely the best hosts I've ever encountered
This property is exactly as described plus a bit more. The well-stocked kitchen was small, but well supplied with everything we could possibly need or want. The King bed was super comfortable, I think we slept better in it than we do our bed at home. Don and Faye were outstanding. They are knowledgeable, kind and go above and beyond to make you feel at home, We had a really great time at this property.

Faye and Don are great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. Enjoyed learning the local history of the area. Cottage was clean, very unique and had everything we needed for our base camp. Even a good selection of reading material for the rainy days. We’ll be back again!

Beautiful historical property surrounded by the perfect views of the lake. Great central location to go visit all the sites or hiking. We loved it and cannot wait to go back!

Such a cozy house with so much history! We enjoyed our experience with Don and Faye from the very beginning. They made sure we were comfortable and answered all of our questions before we arrived. They had many recommendations for places to go and things to do in the area. The house is well stocked and comfortable!
