Situé sur Saint- Belle rive sud de John, Pura Vida (vie pure), est une belle maison de l'île et domaine privé situé sur 1. 5 acres. La villa est entourée par une profusion de l'aménagement paysager natif et les ruines historiques néerlandais. L'emplacement de colline de notre villa fait pour beaucoup de belles brises d'île avec la vue merveilleuse d'océan de Hart Bay et de Chocolate Hole Bay.
Pura Vida dispose d'un plan d'étage merveilleux et un coin salon projeté carrément glorieuse où vous pouvez vous asseoir et profiter d'un bon livre ou une sieste. Les deux chambres sont privées et entièrement équipée avec tous les nouveaux meubles et de la climatisation pour les nuits chaudes. Chaque chambre dispose d'une salle de bain avec douche carrelés et des portes de verre, qui vous feront vous sentir comme chez vous.
Un disque facile de la ville et haut de gamme plages, Pura Vida est un excellent choix pour découvrir Saint- John. This house was perfectly located, Gorgeous and very well kept. Property managers were very attentive and you can tell they love this place by the way it is maintained. The island loses power very often and this house does not have a generator.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was exactly what we were looking for. Nice quiet spot, plenty of privacy, nice view, and the pool was a big plus. Would recommend to anyone.

We’ve been coming to beautiful St. John 1 week for over 20 yrs, always staying at our Westin timeshare, which we’re aiming to sell. This year we wanted to tack on some extra time so rented 5 days at Pura Vita.
We were looking mainly for an uncomplicated, quiet, clean spot at a place with a private pool. It was perfect! The home was immaculate but not pretentious, with a great kitchen and everything we needed to cook nice meals here or barbecue on the patio. We felt totally relaxed. I read books and floated in the pool. The property has an interesting history; we learned about previous owners and enjoyed imagining what life might have been like for those buried in the old graves there with that spectacular view.
Being older folks, we definitely did need a vehicle to get back & forth from town. But we were so pleased and enchanted with the home that we stayed put most of the time. If, however, you want to go out often, there is plenty to see and do on St. John. Thanks to the Rockefeller family, 70% of the island is a National Park, so it’s natural beauty has been well preserved.
There was very good communication with Lauren and then Tori from the management group. Tori had us follow her from the car rental place to Pura Vita and got us settled in. After that, everything went so well that we had no further reason to contact her, but she would have been right there if we’d needed her.
We’ve already lined up Pura Vita for 11 nights in 2025. Can’t wait!

At the risk of having this property booked the next time we want to book it, we must say that we could not have been more pleased. Check was easy. Tori (lovely) met us at the ferry dock and escorted us to the house. The house was great for the two of us. We didn't use the bedroom downstairs, but it looked very nice. The AC in the bedroom worked well. The house was built in 1960 on one of the original plantations on St. John and the owners preserved a good portion of the ruins, complete with graves from the 1700's! The landscaping was beautiful. The highlight was the deck and the pool. What a view! Tip: Be sure you rent a Jeep as the driveway is kind of rough. Can't wait to return!

House is a great location, about 5 minutes from Cruz Bay. Property and view are lovely. House is newly renovated, spacious, comfortable and clean. Driveway is easy to navigate which is uncommon in St. John. AC, hot showers, washing machine and everything else works well. We stayed a week, rented a car and explored the National Park every day. The park is truly spectacular! One suggestion for owner: shades on the kitchen side of the house would keep the sun out and make the main room cooler. The screened porch is lovely and the only cool spot in the house other than the bedrooms which have AC.

Pura Vida was a great place in a great location. Very clean and updated with new appliances recently. It was great for our group of two couples. A very nice pool to relax in. Everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Tori was very responsive with any questions we had as we arrived late in the evening and did not want to tie her up with meeting us at the ferry dock during the holidays.

Our stay at Pura Vida was lovely. The property and house are beautiful, and the views are stunning. Our kids loved having access to a pool and the house had everything we needed to eat in when we wanted to. We hope to come back soon!

My Wife and I throughly enjoyed our stay. The location was close to downtown shopping and restaurants. We visited several beaches with ease and loved returning to the pool at the home to cool off. Highly recommend the home and host.

Beautiful and unique property. Excellent location - close to Cruz Bay but still far enough away to feel private and away from the busyness of town. Wonderful views, wildlife and grounds surrounding the house. House itself is very nice as well.
If staying with children though, it should be pointed out the 2nd bedroom has an entrance from the outside only, so this may not work for families with younger kids. We decided to each pick a room and then one of our children stayed downstairs with a parent and the other upstairs with the other of us so a parent was with each child. Not an issue for us, really but something to know before booking.
I would recommend this property, enjoyed our time there and feel lucky to have had the opportunity to wake up and wind down after the day to the stunning views.

Very beautiful property and house was very clean and pretty inside with a easy location to get to from Cruz Bay. The main part of house does not have AC which was not the best during the day but as we were there during some type of heat wave but the breeze blowing through with the fans helped and after sunset was very comfortable. The bedroom AC’s worked great! The property was very interesting and had a beautiful view!! Pool was LOVELY! The paths to Hart Bat way cool but unfortunately that Bay is east facing and I guess those are the ones getting all the seaweed problems and was not able to be entered due to this but there are so many other beautiful beach options on the island with crystal clear water that it was no biggie. Still cool to walk on the trail and see. Love St John so much and can’t wait to return <3

We just got married & this was a perfect location, centrally located to all the beaches & downtown. We loved the private pool & beautiful views. A cooler & beach chairs are provided with the rental, which was super convenient. They do have snorkel gear but we were only able to get 1 full set to work. After coming back from the beaches with a sunburn that bedroom AC works wonders! The driveway is pretty steep, so I’m so glad the owners of the house suggested a jeep, not sure if a car would be able to get up there. Overall just a wonderful experience. Cheers!

This is a beautiful property and comfortable house. We have stayed here several times and love the addition of the pool! It is very conveniently located near a grocery store and a short drive to Cruz Bay and the Shore beaches. Highly recommend.

This property is very conveniently located and has lots of open space on the top floor and a beautiful deck area and pool. Very nicely decorated and had all the kitchen amenities needed. The only drawback was the second bedroom is downstairs with a separate entrance and at night it was a little secluded and it was much smaller and a bit musty. Overall was a very pleasant experience, the rental company had great customer service and was quick to respond.

My family and I finally got to experience our trip to St. John. My wife and two daughters (ages 8 and 7) tried to come down a year earlier but were impacted by covid, but the homeowners were gracious enough to give us a credit to use within the calendar year (which they did not have to do, so I can't say how grateful I am to them). So this year we made it. The house was exactly as advertised. The neighborhood was perfect for us. We had to drag my kids away from the house to visit the beaches!!! I particularly enjoyed the early morning walks out of the house down to the rocky beach. Nothing like a morning coffee and collecting shells while the sun is just rising.
Everything about the house was perfect. The property manager, Lauren met us at our jeep rental, showed us around and answered all of our questions. The house was in great shape, extremely clean and neat. And the kitchen was well stocked.
Only issue we had was the only way to access the 2nd bedroom was by going outside down the deck. My kids were not keen on this, but we managed to set them up in the screened in room.
I highly recommend this house, the grounds, the location were all amazing.

The living area had lots of space. The kitchen was large and well stocked. The deck and pool were great. The property manager was very responsive. The only area of small improvement could have been having more shady area on the deck; particularly in the mornings.

Everything was as listed. We did have a few hiccups but the management team responded immediately. We chose not to rent a car, we used taxi services. We did walk to the end of the driveway for the pick up and drop offs. Our daughter liked that we saw hermit crabs, lizards and iguanas all on the property. The private pool was her favorite part though.

This rental is absolutely beautiful and so well equipped! We had coffee every morning on the deck with our feet in the pool! The house/villa is decorated so well, and the way everything is situated is perfect! They provide everything you need, including snorkeling gear, beach chairs, coolers, kitchen equipment, and everything! It is so very clean.

Spectacular!
We took our adult children for vacation in St. John and found Pura Vida absolutely perfect for all of us. It was immaculately clean and felt like home as soon as we walked in. The views were beautiful and not a day went by that we didn't use the pool. We drank our morning coffee by the pool, and we ate some of our dinners outside under the pergola. The air conditioners were well needed and appreciated in the bedrooms.
We struggled initially to find out what bay we should stay near, and what we discovered about Chocolate bay is you had a beautiful view, peace and serenity, but you were extremely close to the amenities of grocery stores and downtown Cruz Bay. It is five minutes to shopping, the ferry and nightlife.
Finally, if you haven't driven in St. John, the roads can be challenging as they are very steep, rough, and you drive on the European side of the road. Pura Vida was so easy to get to without having a difficult drive.
The property was very serene, peaceful, and we enjoyed discovering the iguanas, the hermit crabs, the hummingbirds, and the Danish ruins.
We highly recommend staying here, and we take with us treasured memories of St. John and Pura Vida.

- the 2nd bedroom is located down an external set of stairs (not ideal for young kids but fine for 12+). The ONLY negative to the stay was this room had a strong musty odor. I'm sensitive to that and couldn't go in there for more than a few minutes.
- the kitchen is fully stocked and even had sharp knives!
- washer/dryer was a big plus
- the pool was bigger/deeper (in a good way) than the pic shows: my kids loved it.
- the view from the deck is amazing. I loved waking up early and enjoying my coffee as the sun came up.
- the grounds are rich in history; definitely recommend looking around
- it was close to Cruz Bay (maybe 8 minutes to town?)
- the bedrooms have a/c but not the rest of the house. Between the fans and the Tradewinds coming in through the windows, it was FINE.
Overall, I highly recommend this house!

Beautiful private villa
We loved this villa. It was even better than the photos and listing. The accommodations were comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed and then some for our family of 4. The grounds were fantastic and we loved seeing the Dutch ruins right on site. The pool and outdoor furniture were perfect for us. We never drove more than 20min to a beach. The check in and out processes were simple and someone met us at our car rental company and led us to the property. We would absolutely stay here again!

Superb
The house was spectacular. It is comfortable. We'll appointed, and clean. It is convenient to town and beaches. The view off the patio is fabulous. There are ruins and an old graveyard in the front that added a huge "cool" factor to the house. I could not find any literature to explain the history of the ruins. A headstone in the cemetery dates to 1753!! I recommend this villa!!

Good option in St. John
Communication and check in process couldn't have been easier. Living area was quite large with plenty of space to sit and relax. Pool was very nice with a great view. 2nd bedroom was small and could only be accessed by going outside. Great location close to Cruz Bay and beaches.

Perfect - Exactly as Described
Everything is just as in the listing and pictures. Everything clean, working, and as described. This is a great place and great people to rent from.
Also, the owners and property manager were extraordinarily responsive. They were easy to get hold of, very quick to respond, and very helpful. Before we left we had questions about car rentals, covid requirements, and ferry reservations - they got back to us right away and saved us a lot of time figuring things out.
Katja had great advice on where to get groceries in St Thomas before taking the ferry, what different beaches and hikes were like, parking, when things were more or less crowded and so forth. All accurate and helpful.
When we had a question about propane - which turned out to be our misreading of the gage, Katja was back to us within an hour, and then followed up to make sure we had figured it out. Could not have been better.

This property is amazing! Very conveniently located. Property manager, Tori, was extremely helpful and accessible for questions during our stay. We could not have been happier with this property and stay in St. John. We will definitely be back!
