The team running the place were simply amazing. Everyone knows what they are doing, it's a good-size establishment run by a small team working to give their guests the best possible experience ever. I am honestly looking forward to going back and spending more time here.

Beautiful room with a large bed and a clean and modern bathroom. The room had even a balcony. The breakfast was excellent and delicious, the diner that we had twice was also delicious. There is parking in front of the hotel. Super friendly staff!

Maybe the English of the staff, but it was more then okay. Because they tried to speak it. We had never any problem to communicate with each other. We understand a little bit of German. 😉

Almost everything was great and we think the hotel warrants four stars based on other comparators. Extremely amenable staff, particularly the evening waitress, the breakfast lady, and the friendly cleaning lady! Restaurant food was well considered and prepared (probably thanks to a host who cooks). Bed was very comfortable, shower room small but very good, balcony allowed for a refreshing breath of cool Winter air with sounds of the creek bubbling in the background. Location was very good for active pursuits in the Black Forest. Great breakfast and well considered evening menu that should be considered a good (and considerably more cost effective) alternative to the Michelin 2-star restaurant at the Dollenberg Hotel further up the hill (don’t bother going there). Very dog friendly :)

A Nespresso machine and fridge in the room would be improvements, and the hosts might consider more substantial towels. Lift was slow but at least present. Location may be a deterrent for some as there’s very little else in the village; but if you’re a walker or biker or Nature-lover, it’s an excellent base.
