The hotel is up above Guadalajara. Its a colonial style hotel. The rooms were large and the beds really comfortable.

The view of the city was beautiful and good food in the restaurant.

staff neglected to place our family of 6 in the same building, air-conditioners did not work in both rooms, we were moved to different rooms after waiting 3hours for maintenance that never showed, 1 of the new rooms we were moved to (605) smelled like straight sewage, when we asked to be reaccomodated staff attempted to gaslight us about the smell, it took an additional 2hours of convincing the staff the room was NOT habitable, we were finally moved into a habitable room with functional air-conditioning at 8:00pm at night 5hours after our original check-in time, staff brought up the "economical" rate we obtained through "booking.com" as a way of denying us reaccomodation of the room (605) that smelled of sewage.

The WiFi didn't reach the room There were no hand towels, no bathroom rug, and the shower cap box was empty. The A/C was extremely loud.

A little confused to found the hotel.

The staff at the resort was incredible. Our waiters were very nice, and the breakfast staff made really delicious food. We were happy with the overall service and they even kept some of our beers cold in a fridge in the back while they held our bags. The bathrooms in the main area were very clean which was nice to see.

The rooms and the property itself was less than thrilling. My mother-in-law grew up not too far away and dreamed of staying here one day since the 'movie stars used to stay here'; Needless to say, this is not a property that would earn praise such as that these days. 1) The hotel boasts "3 bars". There are in fact zero. There is a 'restaurant that serves drinks' but not an actual bar; There's a club that's open only on Fri/Sat from 10PM on, and the Pool Bar is currently CLOSED every day. For some this might not be important, but what they state isn't true. There are no bars here. 2) The pool is in need of some serious cleaning. It looks nice, and has really good size, but you can't hardly see 3 feet down into it since it's so dirty 3) The carpet in our room had a massive white stain right in the middle of it as you walk in. Of course, I could've asked for a 'new room' but but the time you carry your bags up the stairs and have already been situated in between family members you don't want to make a big deal out of it. If you get put in room 713, beware of what you'll get ... The bed is also very springy 4) Your Keycard will 'reset' every day at Noon. This causes you to have to go down to the front and wait to have the key re-programmed. This is obviously an inconvenience. Beware and plan extra daily time during your vacation for this 5) They have a 'tobacco store' that they list and have on the sheet they hand you during check-in. We thought it would be nice to buy cigars during our stay; They in fact no longer are allowed to sell tobacco so it's a shop with a few bathing suits in it. Again, not a huge deal for us ... but their information is severely outdated 6) Someone else said it, but rideshare does not come up to the top of the hill at this property 7) Many other reviews say this one, but don't expect your A/C to work either.
