old, nothing works, shower only a trickle, toilet didn’t flush, heater didn’t work, carpets dirty, curtains dusty, doors dont close properly, restaurant pretentious, tv a joke.

Food was lovely breakfast wasn’t explained very well and waiting along time for coffee. Facial was lovely but could hear the staff talking to each other the whole way through which made it not relaxing, hot tub area was very nice a peaceful.
Our room was ment to be a superior double room but then over heard a member of staff explain that the superior rooms was on ground level and our room was on 1st level and there wasn’t anything superior about our room which explained why but was still charged for a superior room. Booked 2 pedicures and I only received a file a paint when partner sat next to me and had the full pedicure which they also tried to charge us for 2 which we said I didn’t receive. Overall the experience wasn’t for the value we paid or was expecting for such a beautiful place.

Very smart , beautifully presented, friendly and very attentive staff. Excellent food, good facilities and a lovely peaceful and elegant setting.
I guess you don't get this service and level of accommodation for a low price, but it's pretty expensive non the less.

everything the staff couldn’t be more helpful. clean quite comfortable room, even the room servic food was excellent ( in my experience it’s usually cold and congealed). couldn’t fault anything

It is a lovely mansion with a lot of history! Outside and inside… so if you are looking for a modern hotel than no. We love 💗 laces with a ♥️ heart and soul like this property! The atmosphere is so nice. The staff is professional, very kind. The food is excellent!

Food and staff were exceptional
Extremely drafty windows and outside door to garden in our room, making it cold. Extra heater provided in the room but it wasn’t enough to stop the drafts. Receptionist was made aware.

The breakfast was fabulous, the atmosphere was tranquil and the gardens were beautiful.
The bed was uncomfortable.

We had a private courtyard, the room was beautifully decorated and spacious
Breakfast was delicious as was our light meal in the lounge bar. Service extremely good, staff very friendly and helpful. My sisters and I felt we had discovered a gem and would love to return if we are in the area again.
We initially would have preferred our rooms to be closer but that said we were thrilled with the rooms.
There was some minor maintenance taking place but it didn't affect us or our enjoyment of the facilities.

Good quality English breakfast. Lunch was well received by our guest who commented on the quality of the beef.

Breakfast offerings were not replenished - ie yoghurt, pastries, juice (fair enough if you're down just before end of service but we weren't).

tranquillity-felt welcomed and relaxed on arrival, my wife’s special birthday celebration- service, food, and room outstanding.

I took my wife for her birthday as a surprise. The room was magnificent and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. Will definitely be returning in the future, special place for special occassions.

room was quite tired, esp bathroom. no ironing board in room. tea and coffee facilities adequate but have had better in pub stays. location and hotel itself are lovely.
