Stunning building with some incredible pools and views over the lake and forests. An amazing place to spend a few days relaxing. Really helpful staff who helped us organise multiple taxis. Definitely felt like a 5 star experience.

The only minor downside was slightly disappointing dinner options. The buffet was okay, and reasonably priced. But if you wanted something nicer than a buffet you had to go for very expensive set menu restaurant. As the hotel is very secluded, these are really your only options

Tout ! L'architecture de cet hôtel dont j'avais entendu parlé est époustouflante. L'environnement dans la jungle au bord d'un lac avec vue sur le Rocher du Lion exceptionnel. Buffets très variés et de grande qualité. On a juste regretté de ne pas pouvoir tout goûter... + Chambre spacieuse et confortable, service de blanchisserie ultra rapide à un prix raisonnable, piscines extraordinaires.... Nous garderons de cette nuit un souvenir impérissable.

Beautiful property in such a tranquil setting

This hotel was one of my best stays on my trip to Sri Lanka. The building is old in a good way with many nature essences of Bawa. We could see many wild animals like birds and monkeys in the balcony and around. The staff at the main restaurant was very friendly, she was very kind and welcomed my family every time we go. Although the service of the hotel itself wasn't the highest level compared to other luxury hotels, but many of the staff were nice and smiling. It was definitely one of our great experiences to stay in Bawa's hotel.

Très belle découverte architecturale. Le personnel est à l'écoute, réactif et souriant. Beaucoup de singes venant sur le balcon. Magnifique expérience. La nourriture est excellente avec un choix très varié à tous les repas. Très belle chambre et grande salle de bain. Plusieurs piscines à différent endroits du bâtiment. Le massage au SPA avec vue sur le lac. Je le recommande.

What’s not to like. This is my 4th stay in Kandalama. I love the location, the architecture and the whole ambiance. And the food is of exceptional quality as well as having authentic Sri Lankan cuisine

It needs a little more attention to maintenance to keep it a 5 star rating

The staff are exceptional as always! Very warm, knowledgeable and hospitable. The the location is ofcourse great with breathtaking views and connecting with nature in a very unique way.

The facility is very dated. Badly needs a refurbishment in the general areas. Rooms are fine.
