The room was beautiful, the breakfast was top and the scenery at the restaurant was also fab
The bar was unattended unfortunately and the restaurant was very expensive

We stayed at Donna Carmela for our first night after landing in Sicily. The hotel and grounds are spectacular, scenic, and beautiful. The interior is super chic, and you instantly feel like you are on a calming retreat. The staff were very helpful and attentive, we couldn't fault them. We had the taster menu for our dinner which is definitely one for the foodies but we wouldn't recommend if you like more simple dishes. We wish we had booked another nights stay to really make the most of the surroundings, facilities and what the resort had to offer. We didn't venture out the hotel so cannot comment on the local area.
A gorgeous stay and we'd love to go back one day, a luxury hotel to say the least!

Staff was so friendly, Gianluca, Aurora, the Sommolier, the restaurant servers. Excellent chef/food.

Our room was amazing, quite big, very comfortable and with sea view. Great check-in and check-out experience, very nice breakfast and overall a beautiful and well-maintained place, situated between the Mount Etna and the sea.
This is more on us and not really something for the hotel to improve, unless they decide to change their policy to "adults only". But there were way too many families with kids screaming and running around, which makes the time you spend relaxing by the pool or in the bar having a drink before dinner, a bit less enjoyable.
4.5
Design and upkeep of the place was great. Breakfast and staff were great. Very pet friendly. Wine tasting was a great experience. However one needs to enjoy driving.
Dinner was disappointing, certainly no Michelin Star Experience. One should not advertise what there is not, obviously with half the hotel under renovation the chef was on holiday too ;0) The hotel was undergoing pre summer maintenance, hence a lot of construction noise during the day, ruining the tranquility the place is advertising. Haveing a room facing the nearby train track did not help either.

Very nice and stylish hotel. B&B Italia furniture, clean and modern style. Perfect terrace with wonderful garden (Owner-family is in gardener-business). Staff is charming and helpful. Tipp: Visit the owner‘s winery.
The train railway is near… you hear the noise.
4.5
Beautiful, tasteful resort with very friendly staff! We stayed in the separate villa and the view on the Etna was amazing.
The kitchen was good but we expected a little more of it.

Amazing landscaped environment.
Must Visit the horticole garden from which the body creams and bath soaps come from as well.

beautiful location, luxurious, amazing view on the sea and Etna. great room and bedding. Welcoming and caring staff. Wonderful massage. Delicious breakfast and restaurant. definitely recommending this hotel!
Everything was perfect
4.5
nice property by Mt Etna if your going to that area
definitely need a car or driver.
good place to hang out after visiting volcano.
breakfast and lunch was very good…
dinner was disappointing and over priced
Our room looked like an office not much character It was a suite. The shower was disappointing not much room and old …not what I would expect from a place like this.
4.5
The restaurant.
The best thing about this property is the chef. The flavours of the restaurant’s menu and their execution are impressive, albeit we had a few persistent flying ants on our table the first night so it could benefit from a bug bomb or citronella candle or two! However the property itself seems a little confused about what it’s trying to be: on the one hand, it is very private, stylish and secluded, almost like a retreat… but not quite: the next door railway line makes for a rather abrupt wake up call and the well-being on offer appears to be restricted to a massage treatment, and whilst the plunge pool and area is very pretty it is so small that once a small family or couple of children have arrived beforehand, there is little room for anyone else. Whilst the resort will arrange a wine tour for you if requested, there is little else on offer so a car is a ‘must’ if you want to visit anywhere outside the property or Taormina or isola bela for example. There are no walks/treks or cycle paths around or nearby the property. Given the marketing clearly indicates a desire to establish itself as “exclusive” we were quite surprised to experience a night club/pounding bass music throughout our second night, until around 2am. Overall a decent service from the staff and stylish property, but doesn’t quite meet the expectations of a luxury or exclusive stay, by comparison to other similarly marketed properties around the world, yet.

Stayed in a Junior Suite for 3 nights:
- property itself is stunning, particularly the leafiness and pool area;
- must commend the service of all the staff, akin to what you would expect at a 5 star resort/hotel;
- our room seemed freshly renovated and was one of the most gorgeous and spacious accommodations I have ever stayed in;
- the housekeeping service is second to none. We received small bowls of cherries / sesame biscuits and in the mid evening we would come back to find little floor mats on each side of the bed with slippers laid out for us. They even folded our clothes neatly if we had left them on the armchair etc;
- the fact that the location is quite isolated makes for an incredibly relaxing stay.
Small things to note:
- the immediate surrounding area is not particularly nice. We drove into Riposto / Acireale for dinner which was great but just note that you can’t walk out to grab a bite to eat/drink.
- there is only one restaurant on site that serves dinner and it is Michelin star/fine dining.
- the drinks list (i.e. while you are poolside) is completely overpriced. I.e €15 for a basic cocktail which is well above what I would expect in Italy, particularly in Southern Italy (even at a more upmarket bar)

Peaceful, beautiful, and with incredible staff. The hotel is surrounded by lovely gardens and we could see lava flowing down Etna from our room. Staff were so nice and even pressed by husband's shirt when they noticed it was wrinkled. The restaurant was really good. Breakfast was the best I had in Sicily and many locals come in for a nice dinner.
4.5
Beautiful property, with beautifull pool and garden.
If you arrive at such property, you expect everything to be perfect but... we waited 30' for being checked-in... we were offered free appertitivo as a compansation which we never received... our room was situated next to the kitchen so we could hear dishes being washed... so could be little better...
4.5
amazing luxury, scheduled and well looked after. The hotel went the extra mile to help with my proposal. we would love to be back and even host the wedding here!
4.5
really well equipped, tastefully furnished rooms. friendly staff (although sometimes lacking English, though not a problem for us)
excellent restaurant food (note small portions)
nice grounds and gardens in the property
extensive wine list, but we were charged 5times more than normal retail price

perfection, detail, style. The tranquility of the place is amazing
The roads and the immediate area that leads to the lodges

The breakfast was suberb !!

Very easy from the airport and delicious food in the main restaurant at dinner. Breakfast was best we’ve had in Sicily so far. Staff really helpful with organising next stop of holiday on Aeolian Islands contacting our next hotel before we arrived and also helping book ferries.
No issues with the property. Only sadness is we didn’t stay longer!
