The hosts were amazing. Very helpful, friendly, and responsive. We had a problem with the window one day, they came next morning to solve it. They shared so much information on where to go, what to do, and where to eat out. The house was clean and spacious. We enjoyed our breakfasts at the terrace on the ground floor and our evening drinks at the balcony at the first floor with both - the sea view and the city view. The secured parking garage just beneath the house was extremely helpful. As we were going everywhere by car we did not mind staying a bit away from the centre of Funchal that we could see from the villa. We really appreciated the view!

It would be even nicer to have two showers. It would make it easier and faster for our group of four to get ready in the morning. The two bedrooms facing the sea were a bit noisy because of the vehicles passing by and climbing the hill (the road is just below the balcony). It was a good idea to bring my earplugs with me.

The property is clean. The facilities are good. The view for sunset is great.

The hosts were excellent , communication at every stage from booking to departure was first class . The villa was very clean upon arrival and was cleaned twice during our three week stay. The location was great for us with great views of Funchal Bay, good public transport links. The villa was very spacious and very well equipped for the two of us. Every aspect was exceptional, we would not hesitate in recommending it, we certainly hope to return.

We had a lovely stay in Sandra's villa. She was an excellent host and always on hand with help and useful advice. We got picked up from the airport and even taken to and from a supermarket as it was Sunday and no shops in walking vicinity. There was a delicious Madeiran bread and wine, homegrown fruit and potatoes in the villa upon our arrival. The house was filled with beautiful fresh flowers. The location of the property is great if you have a car. Not so good if you haven't and want to explore the island. For most trips you need to go to Funchal to catch a bus from the main bus station. We loved the little bar next to the tiny village shop about 5 minutes down the road. The bar, just 1 minute up the road, serves the best poncho we've ever tasted! There's a crazy cockerel (or maybe 2?) in the house next door that provided us with an assortment of early wake up calls. Luckily we didn't mind this. Thanks Sandra and Leonardo for a lovely stay!

The double bed in the small bedroom is too small for 2 people. Also no furniture or shelves for your clothing in this bedroom.
