Room and bathroom was clean and modern but with plenty of character. Tea and coffee making facilities. Food was amazing with a great specials board.

Food was great - nice room.

The shower - the hot water came through either or hot or cold it wasn't consistent and not a pleasant experience - there is obviously an issue with the water system. I did mean to let someone know but forgot when checking out.

Ideal spot for visiting national trust premises. Food 5* Excellent staff. Would definitely recommend

Everything! The rooms a just lovely, the service genuine and it has a warm, relaxed and lovely feel.

Breakfast starts at 7.30am th needed to be gone by 7.15am. there are no offer to accommodate.

I just thought it was a tad overpriced to be honest. I've stayed in similar boutique pubs and not paid that much and had better breakfasts etc. Don't get me the wrong the breakfast was ok but minimal choices for vegetarian/vegan and doesn't really reflect the pricing of the room and breakfast combined x

Friendly bar staff on arrival. Had a good chat while they were cleaning up for the night and a nice pint of beer. Breakfast was cereal and cooked. Good cuppa tea! Friendly chap serving. All perfect.

I slept with the bedroom window open and "think" a loud passing lorry woke me up in the early hours, but only momentarily.

All the staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a large, group meal on one night, for which the food, wine and service were excellent. In particular there was a very good choice of fish dishes and all the dishes we sampled were cooked superbly. The reason for our visit was a local, family wedding and the staff were very accommodating of our requests, which left us able to just enjoy the wedding.

Bar area, room and decor etc

Breakfast was slow to be served (took 20 mins for ours and other tables coffees/ hot drinks to arrive) and another 20 mins for hot food so we had to rush eating. Offered toast when brought full English out so by the time that arrived half my breakfast was gone…a shame as was v tasty!
