I was really disappointing that I had to pay 50 euro for the spa for one adult and a 8 year old for one hour. it was not clear when booking that the indoor pool was not included in price of hotel stay. I only booked the hotel as my granddaughter loves swimming and not quite warm enough to swim in the outdoor pool.

The rooms were beautiful and the staff extremely good. The hotel is beautifully designed with nice gardens.

The only issue I have with the hotel is the description on booking.com of a 5 star spa hotel. The day we arrived the restaurant was fully booked for lunch and not open in the evening. The only dining option was a poorly stocked uninteresting pasta and pizza restaurant . There was no room service and was unable to even get a cup of tea in the morning as the bar had not yet opened. There are no local restaurants nearby. For this reason I dont think the hotel can be considered 5 star. The day we arrived the spa was closed (sunday) and we had to wait until the next day to see if there was any space available to use the spa (it did have one time slot only). So when the spa is closed there is no access to the indoor pool or other spa facilities. So it is not really a spa hotel. The hotel is actually a modern building next door to a beautiful old house. Not exactly located in an old manor house.

Everything is extremely well done

Staff were incredible! We travel a lot snd we were extremely impressed with their service from the start of our stay until the end. The beds were comfy, rooms are big and location beautiful.

The attentive and efficient staff. The ambiance. The location on the sea front. The lovely gardens and fascinating history. Excellent breakfast buffet.

The two restaurants were disappointing. Menus were unimaginative and the food preparation very ordinary.

The room was very comfortable with balcony to the sea, bathrobes, slippers etc . The staff at reception were very welcoming especially as I ‘d walked a very long way on the Camino.

The food did not represent value for money. For my main meal I had a pasta dish which was perfectly edible , but such a small portion for the price. It felt like a starter . Breakfast was equally expensive considering it was buffet. They really should offer a bespoke cooked breakfast for parador prices. I’m willing to pay if food is excellent and less run of the mill but , on this occasion, I was disappointed. Such a shame as this place has the makings of a much more.

Sea view and spacious room

The pool doesn't open on Sundays, and that's sad, I was really hoping I could go for a swim.
