Well located. Very clean. Great decor. Spacious. Polite and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.

- clean, as advertised, friendly staff - good breakfast - wine available in room - waking distance from train station and most attractions (or was access with public transport)

-a bit dark in the room (so much black and dark furniture made it feel very dark, even though there were nice big windows) and bathroom - nothing special or memorable either positive or negative

The bathroom sliding door was difficult to close Room 303 and the shower could have been bigger with a better shower door.

Breakfast was good. The location was excellent, close to restaurants and also a great supermarket just across the road. Walking distance to the main landmarks. Hotel is full of character. On arrival our room was upgraded to a larger room which was very spacious. We would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The room we booked wasn't available, they did however automatically upgrade us to a junior suite free of charge. Unfortunately it didn't have a bath in the room, the staff were more than understanding and got us a room with a bath as soon as it was available.

I had chosen the hotel for the nearby amenities important to me, and was pleasantly surprised about the interior quality of the hotel as well as the staff. The suite was clean, quiet and the temperature just right, the bed (mattress, different pillows, and super comfy bedsheets) made sleeping very enjoyable, the WiFi worked very well also in the bathroom, everything else worked well too. For wine aficionados there were already 8 bottled options awaiting you (besides free espresso and tea), the TV had a good size and for people hard of hearing like me the volume can be raised to the perfect level. There was also an iron with ironing board. A nicely sized work desk in front of a huge mirror which reflected the equally huge portrait of a famous performer on the other side of the room. Being in the very downtown of Dusseldorf, there is not much of a view and that wasn't to be expected. Breakfast excelled in its varied offerings, be it tea, cheese, jams, breads, cereals, meats, and other delicatessen. In the same comfortable space on the evening before, I had a long conversation with another couple staying at the hotel, and we enjoyed a glass of wine. The staircase starting on the second floor is set spectacularly for those who like to make an impressive entry while walking downstairs. The receptionist made good suggestions for my dinner and was also well acquainted with the neighborhood.

This is not a complaint: I didn't meet any of the theater and movie stars that use to frequent this hotel, being directly adjacent to the Savoy ... or maybe I did, and just didn't recognize them? ;)

Main Street outside can sometimes be noisy if the window is open - but not a problem at all

there was weird noice coming from the Air Con unit all night long! we tried turning it on and off .. yet the noice continued!! we couldnt sleep!
