Lack of attractions at the location

The property is located in a beautiful country region, with large grassy areas and abundant livestock. Breakfast is good and served country style, with a cook preparing eggs by request. Staff was always helpful and attentive during our stay.

Our biggest problem with Jacaúna is that we were grossly overcharged for what they had to offer. We occupied two standard suites, each costing R$ 979,00 per night. The price was part of a Christmas package, that included only breakfast. First of all, that's very expensive in Brazil for a property that lacks basic infrastructure items, as further explained. We never knew whether we were staying in a two star hotel, a student dorm, a BB, or a rustic resort. As it turns out, the hotel didn't have anything prepared for Christmas, not even for the kids. During meals owners sat separately and entertained their own guests. On Christmas eve justa a regular dinner was served. (the hotel was wise enough not to charge us, I must disclose). The list of shortcomings is long, but please bear with me. Each room had only two eletric outlets, both already in use for night lamps. When asked for eletric splitters, maintenance didn't have any. Same thing happened with eletric adapters, since their wall sockets didn't support current modern appliances. When we wanted to borrow one, they explained that since previous guests didn`t return them, they were no longer being offered. The bathroom towels were cheap, very rough and coarse. The room had only one 17 in. TV with only 4 channels. The bathroom displayed a vast array of fungi on its walls and the mirror was stained. The rooms didn`t have adequate storage area for clothing and only a small improvised hanging space was provided with used dry cleaners hangers. The bathroom toiletries provided were of very bad quality. The property does not have an intercom system, between rooms and/or front desk, management or maintenance. So if you need anything, anytime - day or night - you have to do walking yourself (distances are long, paths are all outdoor, either dirt or grass).
