I rented this house for a 30th birthday trip, it was perfect. Walking distance from downtown, every couple got their own room and everything functioned really well. We loved the back deck and if it was nicer out, the yard and beach would have been great too. The house is very well stocked (anything you might need in the kitchen for cooking) and very clean. Would stay again and recommend for groups of friends or families!

Rented the Eagle's nest for an annual meet-up with some old buddies from high school. This place was perfect. Walking distance to town, outdoor space for lawn games, and enough rooms so that everyone had personal sleeping quarters. Highly recommended.

I paid to stay at this property from September 13 to September 16. The property called Bluefish Vacation Rentals had water damage, dirty carpet, spider webs hanging from the chairs and ceiling as well as a mold smell throughout the house, old beds with spring coming out, so you cannot sleep in each bedroom, old leather furniture, open gaps in the door lock and crack glass door. Do not stay here and do not use this website to book. My group left early because of these conditions and the owners of this property is refusing to give back that money for days we did not stay. They charged money for cleaning and we had a dirty property that we left early due to the conditions and came home. The owners have no integrity and lied about the property. They are going to lie and response to these comments by saying they address the issues but, you should not believe them, we left because of these issues and cut short our vacation. The fact that bed sheets and a carpet cleaning company had to come the second day let’s you know the place was not clean. The smell is everywhere in the house because the house has water damage. DO NOT STAY HERE. I have pictures and comments about this on a new Facebook Pages called Beware of Vrbo Properties for your review. VRBO or Homeaway was no help. Gayle Newcomb

House was in a wonderful location. Lower level was very musty smelling but main floor and upper level was nice. We had an issue with wasps coming up through the floorboards of the patio and had one child get stung. But when we called they were right on it and tried to get it taken care of. Overall we all had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

Spent the weekend with 8 other girls in this house! It was a great house that was able to meet all of our expectations. It was very comfortable and great that everyone had a bed to sleep in. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay in New Buffalo. Very convenient location for wine tasting.

This house was beautiful! It is located walking distance (around the block) from the beach and restaurants/bars! Looking forward to hopefully coming back to the house and staying during the summer! Had the pleasure of meeting the owner. Seems like a great guy who is looking to update and do wonderful things to his home!

It was our second time renting the house. Awesome for a big group, and close to town.

Inside had a decent amount of water damage and the beds were very old. The house served its purpose since we pretty much just slept there. When the remodel is finished it should be decent.

House is large and well set up for large group. Lots of space to spread out. It is in need of maintenance as there are exterior doors with gaps between lock and door that you can see outside or vice versa. The interior living areas and baths are dated and there is mold in some of the shower areas. Several light bulbs are burned out throughout the house. All of these items are minor but what is disappointing is that most of the issues were also described by previous guests so there must be a choice not to address the problems.

as a property owner as a renter i write in hopes to help---house worked for us but there are a number of observations --TV was impossible,off more than on,day it rained system never worked,it looked like the equipment needed updating--big problem for young people --desperately needs a garbage disposal--potential plumbing issue with blockages --2 cutting knives---very aggravating --ice maker not connected --showers turn cold in middle of use? --mattresses are weak,an need upgrade --front porch step at first landing needs identification,one can easily fall --garbage days should be posted --upper deck grill should be in working order-food must be carried up --kitchen table should be placed in dining room-if eating inside the kitchen area is small an congested -seating for group would work in dining room --lastly kitchen area windows should have covering of some type-sun shines directly in an causes air condition bill to be high

The property is a little worn and the outside was cluttered with building materials and some trash, but after I cleaned that up and repaired a few things inside, the home was the perfect size for our family. It may just be me, but fixing things like: sticking the bottom of the oven back on to its pins instead of sitting on the ground, dusting off the pan rack hanging from the kitchen ceiling, dusting on top of the fridge and putting away the plethora of extra small appliances are probably things that only bother me and people like me. The 6 bedrooms and the layout of the house is very good for a large family and everybody slept well except for my daughter who was bitten over and over again by some kind of bug. We finally moved her into the bunk room with the kids. The kitchen is a little small for the amount of people we had in the house, but my amazing wife somehow made it work.

It is a great house for family of 5 or 6 stay, enjoy and have funtime. We did not goto lake (about 10 minutes walk from the house). You can see the lake from the house but being winter we never went to lake or used backyard just stayed indoor and had family fun time. Everything was as described and no issue except the tv was not working. Although DirectTV box was setup we never were able to get direct TV. Being NFL week and no way to watch the matches was a disappointment. Informed Jason, he could not get hold of owner to get it fixed and it was one of the major disappointment. Other than that everything was fine and we all had great time.

My family and I rented this home in November as a place we could all gather to celebrate Thanksgiving. We have little kids and rather than having to split up into multiple locations, we wanted to all stay together so that we would be able to spend more time together. This property was perfect. There were 15 of us and it slept us all very comfortably, admittedly New Buffalo is not the greatest destination in November for exploring outdoors, but the ample space inside the home made for a great experience. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to vacation in New Buffalo.

We had a wonderful four nights here with family for a wedding weekend. The home was attractive and clean. Our group was 15-17 people, depending on the night, and ranged from ages 8-80. There were no issues with stairs, hot water or anything else. If you have kids who wish to play video games, do bring some games. But the younger ones had a great time with the shuffle board table. The sofa beds were easily pulled out and put back each night and no one said they weren't comfortable. The lower level kitchenette was a brilliant idea when the addition was added to the house. The decks were lovely, with the large main floor deck being perfect when other family and friends stopped by to visit. We met the owner, who is a very gracious fellow. Thanks for the lemonade! Thank you too, to Jason or the owner, for the thoughtful welcome gift on the dining room. We enjoyed it. Great stay! Thanks so much. Thank you, Jason, for answering questions so promptly and completely. You have a good company!

The house is very spacious, there's a shuffle board table and two big TVs. It's not brand new but it's clean and in good condition. It's an easy walk to the beach, about a half mile. We bumped into the owner on the way in and out, and he was very friendly and helpful. I've had less of a great experience with the property management company "light harbor rentals" I had to deal with. The payment process was awkward (why can't I just pay once through Home Away?), they make you sign a lengthy contract including all of the names of all of the guests that will be staying (14 in my case...). Their website is awkward, it tries to show me the lock keycode at the time of my check in, but it did not function properly. I called several times, they never picked up. But when I left a message they got back to me promptly. Additionally, I made a $500 security deposit that hasn't been refunded with no word of why. We closely followed the checkout procedure. I am disputing the charge on my credit card.

The company I work for rented the space for a team retreat. The pictures of the home looked great and described it as a 6 bedroom and 4 1/2 bath. There was no half bath. One of the rooms had a broken futon. The west facing windows had no blinds and was extremely hot in the room all afternoon, this was the main living space. The back deck was very nice with a large table where we could all eat our meals. It would have been nice if the grill had been with the table (as pictured) instead on the driveway. Beach access was confusing and not as close as thought. Overall the place fit our needs and the shuffleboard table was a hit.

Could install keyless entries or at the least, have lower level door rekeyed so that one key opens both doors. Don't count on garage to store bikes, golf clubs etc. Prop Mgr suggested we leave them out, but that seemed risky, so we brought in to lower level. Carpet down there is awful - full of stains from people doing the same thing we did - bringing garage items inside to store. Front porch in 2 pics looks nice but is useless - no heated or cooled - no fan. If you open windows, bees fly in from the lavender planted under windows. Sign on door to living room asks to keep it closed. Could put screens in windows and it would be functional. Full glass door to living room had broken pane of glass, repaired by putting clear packing tape over it. Dangerous for little ones. 4 atrium doors in family room have no coverings. They need blinds or shades to help keep this room more comfortable, be able to see tv and not need sunglasses at dinner table. Closets were a mess with all kinds of misc. furniture, holiday décor and junk in them. Usually in a vacation rental, they are clean and empty for renters to use. Advertised as sleeping 17. That is if 2 adults don't mind sharing the Full size beds in the 4 bedrooms. We didn't find them comfortable. Futon in bunk room is broken. The entire house needs to be painted inside. The walls are scratched and marked up and there was some sort of wall repair done in bunk room but never finished. Bathrooms - somewhat misrepresented. Master is an ensuite and most people don't want to go all the way upstairs to use that. Two lower level have hall access. One on main floor is an ensuite, so you have to go thru someone's bedroom to use it, which was odd. That bathroom needs new vanity top - the original is wood and has rotted, peeled and splintered. Bad choice for something that gets wet. No bathrooms had towel bars to hang towels on, only 2 had toilet paper holders. We tend to think of these as standard amenities in any house. Kitchen has a lot of flaws. Had to call for smoke detectors to be put in bedrooms! Warning - the beach they advertise DOESN'T EXIST anymore! It seems everyone involved is either too busy laughing all the way to the bank with renter's money to take time to update listing, but then, rentals would drop off if people knew.

My family and I stayed 7 nights here. We had a wonderful time..

Family of 17 stayed last wk of Jul 2017. Everyone had a place to sleep. No one complained about hot water. Used the extra refrigerators. Prepared many meals. The 3rd floor suite is impressive. Granddaughters claimed the shower. Watched beautiful sunsets from the assn's 2 lake vistas - the rocky beach & the wooden overlook. Safe neighborhood to walk around. Shopped Whittaker St. Swam at the City Beach. Kayaked the Galien River. Recommend Casey's, Buffalo Bill's BBQ, Oinks, Nancy's. The step from the 1st floor to the ground floor are tricky for seniors

Decor was very nice as well as location. Great deck with table large enough for 10 of us to eat our meals. A/C wasn't working but it was cool weather the first part of the week. When the temperature warmed the A/C was repaired. So appreciated the quick repair.

Everything was just as pictured, a great location and place to spend a nice weekend away!

What a great experience dealing with this rental company! This home was accurately represented and filled our needs quite well.There are three levels,so it would NOT be a good choice for any group who couldn't handle navigating a lot of steps. If you are staying in the Fall or Winter and plan to use the three fireplaces, you will be disappointed,as none of the three were working. That was a let down for us. I felt that grab bars in the "walk in" showers would have been helpful, and the addition of towel bars or hooks for towels is something that I would have appreciated. Overall, we were very impressed and would absolutely recommend this property to anyone...lots of room and so many extras; conveniently located and easy to eat,shop,and travel around this lovely area of Michigan.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We really enjoyed our stay! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the showers were very temperamental. They were either really hot or cold. It was very hard to get it to a good temperature. Otherwise it was perfect!

This was a great place to stay for our trip. We had five families in this house and it worked perfectly. Super close to the beach and downtown. We really enjoyed our stay! Thanks!!!
