walkable within village, Indian restaurant next doir and a pub. there is a water stream behind tge inn and its so calm there. staff is A-1 here

vaulted ceilings were hitting our head. when we asked for the water bottle(the one in the room) to be refilled, we were told they ran out of those glass bottles!!!!! so we didnt have drinking water at all. this one is not a dont like but inconvenience. hot water ran out and we had to go ask the staff to enable the heater. morning breakfast was very limited for vegetarians and timing for days we stayed was between 7:30-9 which is very limited but the best part is staff was accomodative even when we went at 9:30.

It was well located, clean and comfortable, despite the old building.

I have book a room for 3 people and had been given a room with 2 single beds. When we arrived we were told that there will be a bit noisy at the evening, due to a concert at the pub. It was too late for us to react and to book another accommodation, therefore we stayed. I wasn’t able to sleep at all that night. It was so noisy and irritating. I felt like I have paid for nothing. I would rather sleep in the car.

Stayed at the Volunteer Inn for 1 night on Weds 28th Dec, had a warm welcome on arrival and was shown to a nice quiet room at the back which was lovely and warm. The breakfast was lovely and you could pre-order what you wanted the night before which i tbought was a good idea. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Perfect location for a wedding we were attending 5 mins away. Clean, modern rooms with tea/ coffee making facilities etc. No issues with the shared bathroom, only sharing with one other room. Great shutters for the windows to help with the noise. Lovely selection at breakfast.

The doors made a very loud noise when opening and closing them. We were warned of the noise from the pub so that was no issue.

We were warned re the noise being above the pub but was fine.

Room a bit hot. Was unprecedented hot weather though.

Beyond expectation. Perfect cooking by an attentive chef/waitress, who singlehandedly served us.

The staff are a real credit to the venue, very friendly and very helpful. The accommodation is in a central location, easy to find and with local parking. Great choice at the bar and breakfast was reasonable.

Noise. The venue clearly states it is a working pub and as such, we expected noise into the night and early morning. We didn't expect to be woken at just before 7am with the delivery of what felt like a weeks worth of beer barrels. The noise went on for over an hour, by which time we were up for breakfast anyway. Totally understand its a fact of pub life and they are probably at the mercy of delivery times governed by others, but it is a factor those staying as overnight guests need to be aware of. Not a huge fan of having to chose from a breakfast menu the night before, but that's a personal preference and can see why it makes business sense i.e less waste.

The staff (especially Chloe) is just super nice! I had a great time there, and even during busy hours they just were very friendly and Open minded. Love, that they had life music just when i arrived, so you had the whole england-great food and music-pub-experience. „Magical“ ;-)))))

All the facilities were clean and the proximity to the other pub is great. The pub downstairs is a good one as well with a nice deck to sit outside on. The indian restaurant down stairs is probably the best place to get food in town.

Our private bathroom and room did not have hot water the entire time we were there. Ice cold showers are not ideal in the spring. Overall this place was nice and an okay value but given the freezing cold showers I wouldn't recommend it.

The breakfast was great, plenty to choice from and the lovely lady who served us (sorry I forgot her name) was great ..hospitable and helpful..

As a pub it had the inevitable jolly noise about it but we were told of this in advance and it did disappear just before really late in the evening.

Literally the only complaint we had was no power outlet in the bathroom for the hair dryer.

shower was cold after about 5 minutes! both me and my partner experienced this at two different times of the day! the pillow was so uncomfortable it hurt.
