The excellent service levels were immediately apparent on arrival where two reception staff appeared as if from nowhere to take our bags from us. Unfortunately we don’t know there names, but that’s immaterial as no member of the team here could be singled out for praise, the whole team from reception, housekeeping, restaurant and maintenance ensured we had an absolutely wonderful stay. We soon realised that training and customer service was very high on the agenda here. It didn’t matter how busy staff were, they always made us feel that we were the only guests. Check in was fast, a refreshing cool flannel, spray and drink was appreciated. We were taken to our room via a useful and well presented tour of the hotel amenities, instantly helping us to find our bearings. We were treated to an upgraded room, room 14, that had views over the beautifully tended gardens to the mountains beyond. Again, everything was explained to us and we settled in. A giant welcome cookie greeted us, a gift from the kitchen. A very thoughtful touch. The room had everything we needed, with an absolutely huge bed, excellent shower and bath and balcony overlooking the gardens that were filled with constant bird song, absolutely beautiful. Robes, slippers and even umbrellas were provided. The outdoor pool had lots of comfortable loungers and ample shade. The indoor jacuzzi was huge and very effective. Breakfast here was a special treat, taken on the terrace overlooking the pool and gardens. There were enough options to please even the most jaded palate, ample fresh fruit and many choices. A special memory for us was the honeycomb, absolutely lovely honey. We had dinner here once and again couldn’t find fault with the menu or service. The cheeseboard was especially good. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay and have no hesitation in recommending La Signoria and the team. Even on departure we were given a gift of biscuits to enjoy on our trip.

The property is located very conveniently, 2 minutes away from the airport in a very calm and pretty area. The rooms are spacious, the swimming pool is nice.

- Shuttle service. Very convenient to get picked up from the airport, or dropped off at the beach. However this is very limited, if you want to go anywhere around Calvi you will need a taxi. Which at the end is a little frustrating because the hotel has a shuttle. - restaurant venues and operating hours. It is very surprising for me to have only one dining option in a 5 star hotel, (yes there is room service as plan B) but you don’t necessarily want to eat Michelin star every night of your stay .. secondly the operating hours are very limited at the restaurant, the brasserie for lunch is open only from 12:30 to 14:30. An all day dining venue at the bar for example would be welcome. Prices are as well very expensive. For the Michelin star restaurant it is understandable, however paying almost 50€ for a club sandwich or pasta tomato sauce, it’s A LOT. - Service team in breakfast is pretty poor, the staff is nice but overwhelmed, buffet is not refilled consistently, orders for hot food takes a long time. Overall not 5 star service. As a general conclusion, this hôtel is nice, very well located, with nice staff, however it’s missing this 5star + experience. It’s a good stay but not excellent.

Everything. Can’t imagine any place more perfect - glorious setting with rooms that you wish you lived in forever. Staff are fun and couldn’t be nicer. Close proximity to wonderful beach and hide-away restaurants.,oops did I forget the Michelin star and sumptuous breakfast…there’s a reason we’re repeat guests.

Beautiful pool area and very clean little 2 bed cottage we stayed in. Main reception guy was helpful, happy and polite as was the two main breakfast staff.

Seemed to be more interested in being a destination restaurant rather than a hotel. Communal areas weren't cleared quickly and apart from the staff above no friendly greetings particularly around the place. A lot of wasps around the breakfast table and not a brilliant breakfast offering anyway. No one to ask for drinks at the pool - always going in search of staff. Brought things to the attention of the owner - not much joy!
