Perfect retreat

This was the perfect weekend getaway for my family. Such a beautiful house and peaceful setting! We enjoyed swimming in the pond, walking around the property and just relaxing on the deck with gorgeous views. The house was immaculate and Deb (the host) answered all our texts immediately. We hope to return for a visit soon!

The house is beautiful and well maintained. Plenty of room for 3 adult couples with a private bedroom/bathroom suite for each. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glasses, cups, cutlery, spices, etc. Very nice wraparound deck with beautiful views and plenty of seating. Part of the deck is shaded by an overhang. The grounds are extensive and well maintained with lots of space for our dog to safely roam. The pond is a nice feature and the water seemed clean and aerated via a pump. The property is about a 20 minute drive from Bethel Woods concert venue and only 5 minutes from the nearest supermarket. We would love to stay here again the next time we visit the area.

Hidden gem....amazing views and property. Host is excellent and responsive. Amenities are top notch ( cable channels, toiletries, seasonings, fishing rods, logs, floating rafts, chargers, tape, batteries, soap, etc.). Property is really big. Great wildlife views. Felt like a real home away from home. Great for group gatherings.

Everything was perfect for our weekend away. The house was beautiful, clean and well appointed. We enjoyed the dock and the pond and will definitely be back in the future!

We loved our stay here! We came up for a quick weekend to relax before the kids head back to school. It's a great stay if you have kids. They played outside all day! They fished, swam and caught frogs and loved every second of it. We made smores one night, we walked the property. The kids got a kick out of seeing the wild turkeys at the end of the driveway one morning. Love that the house is dog friendly also. Our pooch had a blast running free and swimming as well. The house was very clean and very well kept and stocked. Deb was very responsive also. The town isn't too far away if you need anything. We took a ride in and walked around. The views are great and night we really loved looking at the billions of stars-amazing! No one wanted to leave. We look forward to coming back! Thanks for a great weekend!

A beautiful home with wonderful views. 4 of us guys stayed here to see a concert at Bethel Woods (15-20 min). We brought our guitars and found the great room has great acoustics! The home is outfitted well, and nicely maintained. We would certainly stay here again.

Another great stay at 109 Gabel Road. Beautiful property, well outfitted house, great location. We enjoyed walking in the back meadows, swimming in the pond, and star gazing from the deck… Good hiking, kayaking and fishing all nearby. Don’t miss the Sunday farmer’s market and Seminary Hill Cidery in Callicoon.

We stayed at this property because we were going to a concert at the Bethel Woods Art Center. We had such a great time together, swimming and relaxing before and after the concert. The amenities in this home were perfect. The decor and accommodations couldn't be better. We wouldn't hesitate to do it again in the future.

This is our third stay at this property. We love it. It's perfect for our family. All of us - adults, kids and our dog - love the property. It's spacious, on a great piece of land, with a great pond and close to everything you could want for a true Catskills experience - hiking, renovated towns and up and coming restaurants. The hosts (Deb & Paul) are extremely responsive and very accommodating. Staying at this property is the start of a great family bonding experience. We couldn't be happier and look forward to returning soon!

This is one of the best houses we have rented for a family vacation. The house is beautiful, so well equipped, has everything you could ever need. The attention to detail was beyond my expectations. The beds were made upon arrival, towels out, kitchen well stocked, extra sheets/towels in every closet, laundry in the basement... a mother's dream come true! The property is gorgeous, the views amazing from every window. I found the best yoga spot on the stone patio in the front yard overlooking the pond and the mountains. Our family had a great stay and would have liked the chance to explore the area even more. We explored Livingston Manor, Buck Brook Alpacas, and Callicoon. The scenery is amazing this time of year (October).

We stayed at this home for the weekend with family while attending a wedding at a nearby venue. The owner was very easy to communicate with and the check in process was simple. The home is very private, has a great view, walking trails, and pond stocked with fish! The 15 acre property around the home was well maintained and had a walking path with chairs tucked way off in the distance which everyone loved. Inside the home was just as great. Beautiful open concept with tons of windows to enjoy the view of the pond and mountains off in the distance. Everything was very clean, the kitchen had everything you need, and the bedrooms were nice sizes. The upstairs bedroom is its own suite with a private balcony and bathroom. The basement, with a 3rd bedroom and bathroom, has a walk out to the yard which made it another very nice space within the house. We enjoyed the pond, the fireplace, the view, the wrap around deck with rocking chairs, the deer, and most importantly the quiet! Beautiful stars at night as well. All this, close to restaurants and shops in the city of callicoon. All around great property! We will be back! Thank you!

This was our second stay at Deb & Paul's house. We're repeat visitors so that, right away, should tell you something about how we feel about this property. We love it here. It's great for our family. The layout of the house is perfect for our family. The pond is superb. The property is ridiculously peaceful. The location is great. We really can't say enough good things about this property. This property is just amazing.. the warm decor & layout was fantastic !! Comfortable bedding...& couches You can tell that the homeowners are quite worldly paying attention to detail from the kitchen which is a " Chef's paradise" to the window dressings to the furniture and artwork adorning the home. Out of every window in the house you see these beautiful meadows and vast bold landscapes land meets sky ...the sunsets were jaw dropping.. waking up and looking out any window in this property will take your breath away....like drama unfolding.....cool off & just jump into the emerald green pond to start the day... I took several hikes along the property & rode the bikes provided in the utility rm. Miles and miles of farmlands.. rolling hills like a European painting... You daydream.. what a special place this home and property is !!.. so much going on in town & about... friendly artists shops everywhere... colonies all over...I truly enjoyed myself taking drives along the Delaware River seeing the kayaks and rafters jumping into the waters... Sullivan county rocks !!.. this place is a must see... I would totally return... I can't thank you enough... 5 big stars here !!

This place if fantastic. It's exactly what's advertised and more. Breath taking views with everything you need to have a great experience. Local towns are nice and travel is easy.

This home and property was beautiful! My family enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning next year!

Great family vacation in Callicoon, in the foothills of the Catskills! The house was perfect for our family of five: modern, well-appointed and comfortable, set on beautiful property, and in great location for day trips. We really enjoyed exploring the upper meadow trails and swimming in the pond. Spectacular views all around, especially from the wrap around decks… The house is conveniently located -- Callicoon is a five minute drive, Jeffersonville about 10 minutes. There are so many great spots in the local area... We recommend the Sunday Farmers Market in Callicoon, the Jeffersonville Bake Shop, Upward Brewing in Livingstone Manor, and Northern Farmhouse Pasta in Roscoe to name a few. Thanks also to Deb who suggested a great hike: Bouchoux Trail to Jensen’s Ledges. Hope to be back soon!

We enjoyed our stay at your house although we had bad weather we still felt comfortable in the house and we’re able to BBQ on the porch and watch good movies with the cable tv. Would love to stay again and enjoy the pond and property more! Also was close to town for food shopping and restaurants.

There's something magical about this house...or the pond...or the location...or the property. All together, this is a wonderful place to stay. For full disclosure, I'm not a fan of the country. This trip was more for the benefit of our family as a whole. That being said, I loved our stay and didn't want to leave. The house is spacious, airy and an absolute delight. The pond cannot be described. It's a warm, clean, refreshing and wonderful experience especially after a day of hiking. The hiking and swimming options nearby are incredible. Our hosts were extremely accommodating and patient with our multitude of questions. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. We are already planning our next return. Kudos to our hosts. Your place is phenomenal!

The property was beautiful! The front deck had a gorgeous view of the pond and valley of fall colors. The house was clean and comfortably accommdated our group of 5. Excellent proximity to the venues we had planned to visit over the weekend - The Heron in Narrowsburg, Bethel Woods Arts Center for the Beer Fest, and The Raleigh in Callicoon. Highly recommend this property!

My family of 6 adults and dog stayed at this property while in the area for a wedding. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Absolutely best rental we've ever stayed in. We had a wonderful weekend. The kitchen was beautifully appointed - everything you could possibly need. All bedding and linens just perfect. There is nothing this property is lacking. Views and the outdoor space are spectacular. Although it was quite chilly and rainy the swimming pond was enjoyed! Highly recommend.

I was in the area for a wedding at Handsome Hollow with family. We rented this beautiful home with gorgeous views for 3 days. This home has everything you need to make this your home away from home . We did get to see plenty of deer and the groundhog Mort. We live in a mtn home in NC for the summer and enjoy the mtns . This house is clean, fully stocked. Love, love, love our stay here in Callicoon.. Highly recommend staying at this house. Barbara

The property was spectacular. Being able to float in the pond, sit on the decks was wonderful. The house was set up perfectly for three couples - so clean, spacious and everything you needed. By far, this has been the best house we have rented through VRBO. Next time we are in the area, we are staying here again!

This is one of the nicest houses I have ever rented. Super clean and very well appointed. The kitchen is well stocked and contained everything you could possibly need. Beds were super comfy and the bathrooms were very clean. The view from the deck is a great way to start and end your day. The top floor master suite was impressive and would be the bedroom to call dibs on if you are sharing this house. Balcony off the master suite and gas fireplace illustrate that this house was built with care. Great grounds and very secluded but close enough to supermarket (Peck's) and restaurants in the town of Calicoon. You are also a couple of minutes away from the Delaware River. Highly recommend this house!!!!

What a beautiful property ! We had so much fun, the house has everything you need. Very clean and spacious. We really enjoyed our long weekend getaway, the pond was great, my kids Swam for hours. We had three couples and the place was perfect! It was very clean, with everything we needed for the kitchen,bathrooms, etc. The pond was great for swimming.

The home was immaculate with all the comforts of home and more. The kitchen was stocked fully. Furniture was upscale and beautiful. The viewing from every room was breath taking. Didn't want to leave. Everyone in our party enjoyed themselves immensely. Already planning our next stay. If you book this home you will not be disappointed.
