Location on the SWCP & close to Port Isaac
Price for evening meal & breakfast - too high for what I wanted so I didn’t participate.

Beautiful unspoilt location by the beach. Well maintained. Very friendly and professional staff. Dinner and breakfast were of a a high standard, well presented and served.
Food and drink a bit pricey but you pay for what you get so overall we were very happy. Parking was a short distance from the property which was not a problem for us.

Plush towels; long, deep bathtub; very comfortable matress; teapot; and all the wee extras. And the friendly goose outside.
Leaving day.

The food was good, except the Lemon Sole where half of the fish tasted like it was on the turn. After commenting on this, the wait staff came back to say it was just the way the chef had cooked it…
The staff had a very bad attitude. They couldn’t be less helpful at times. You could hear every footstep in the room above ours, which is fine during the day, but we were woken up at 5am with constant foot steps / pacing for the next 3 hours. Not what you want on your holiday, especially when paying £220 per night.
We told the front of house when we checked out about this, and he couldn’t care less. Didn’t even look like he was listening to us, and then said ‘oh maybe it was a room with a dog in it’ !!! Not helpful and just made us hugely frustrated. No apologies or compensation was given for our grievance.
Overall, we won’t be staying here again.

Beautiful old world charm, set in the most perfect spot! Super staff. Lovely bed and bedding.
To drift off to sleep with the sound of the lapping waves in the bay… magical.

Food and staff were fabulous. We felt very welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
No major complaints about anything. Perhaps the only thing I would mention, and it wasn't a big deal for us, yet might be for someone else is that the carpets seemed dirty in places throughout the room. Like I said, we didn't really care but think others might.

We really liked the location which was practical for visiting the surroundings areas. The room was nice and very clean and had all the appliances and forniture well maintained. The staff members were very kind and professional.
The only thing that was a little bit off about the room was that smelled of the food they'll cook in the restaurant. And, this is personal, but I really don't appreciate carpets(hate them).

Port Gaverne Hotel was lovely! It's an old inn which has been renovated beautifully, whilst still paying homage to its history. The staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast was great. The bathroom was huge and we had a nice view of the cove from our window.
It was a tad expensive but I appreciate it was over Christmas. As a general rule, I wouldn't feel it was good value for money. It would be nice to have a guest lounge as there was nowhere really to sit and read etc unless you sat in the guest bar.

walking distance to beach and to port Issac (up a steep hill but it’s not too long). friendly staff
narrow steep stair cases but it’s an old Cornish property so to be expected

Nice hotel in Port Gaverne. The Room we stayed in nice, and the restaurant was lovely, with very nice food. Breakfast was excellent . Staff were excellent
We had room 7, which is situated at the top, and the flight of steps leading to the room were very steep, so guests that are not too mobile would find this a challenge!!!!

The personality of the whole place was amazing, and the staff were always happy to help. The beds were extremely comfortable and the housekeeping paid very good attention to detail. The hotel is literally on the beach-a great place to explore and swim!
Even though it had character, both the room and the hotel parking were quite hard to access-especially with suitcases. The rooms had a view of the staff terrace but that didn't really bother us.

Lovely little Inn, it had a great atmosphere and was very traditional. The room was nicely done up and had everything I needed, including a great nights sleep. The food was delicious, best mussels I’ve ever had, sauce was divine. Rooms were spotless and had a Nespresso machine and some nice little treats. It’s a nice place to stay. You can swim in the harbour across the road if you’re brave. They have parking too so let me check in early and park there. It’s just 10 mins up the hill to Port Issac and at least you can leave the car. I thought it a little expensive for a small inn but I think Port Issac is in general pretty pricey. I booked a 5 star country hotel elsewhere in Cornwall which included dinner and breakfast for the same amount, but I enjoyed it so worth it for me.

Amazing location in a beautiful little cove..Lovely bar and restaurant and cozy rooms which are nicely furnished and little extra touches.
Bed was on the small side (standard double).

Room was a little small for 3 people and the wardrobe was almost impossible to access but for one night it was not a problem

The restaurant and staff were excellent. Dinner was better than all the other restaurnats we had tried in Padstow and the surrounding area and the full Cornish breakfast was great.
The room was a little cramped (especially as we had to fit our grandson's travel cot in) and it was uncomfortably hot even with the windows open all night

The evening dinner/wine was first class although quite expensive. The salmon/scrambled egg breakfast was very good. The full Cornish breakfast was disappointing as the streaky bacon was overcooked and tough. All the food ingredients were excellent but not the bacon.
The room was very clean, bathroom and products, bed linen and towels first class.
The staff and welcome were excellent and very welcoming. A great atmosphere in a perfect situation by the beach. The balcony was a great bonus overlooking the beach.
However the bedroom was very small and over furnished to the point of banging into the big chest of drawers and the base of the bed. The wardrobe fa too big for the room, little space to manoeuvre.

A relaxed and charming atmosphere with fabulous food - the St Ewe’s eggs at breakfast were divine. Above all though, the staff were so welcoming and attentive.
