Breakfast excellent

Bathroom and shower not up to 5 star, entrance from the corridor was not good for this level

Didn’t have a safe in room Sauna was only available to men (this didn’t impact me on our stay but had it I would have felt annoyed)

The public areas and restaurant were excellent. The spa was really exceptional with a 25 metre lap pool, sauna and full gym facilities. The staff were first rate. Welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The General Manager called TJ was simply delightful and a true professional who without hesitation upgraded our rooms when we mentioned our concerns as detailed below. Could not have been more helpful.

For their price the rooms we were offered initially were disappointing. On the small side with a "garden view" that was restricted and not of the main garden and bay which is a major feature of the hotel's location. The beds had no duvets and only sheets and blankets and the mattresses weren't particularly comfortable. Strangely the sheets were undersized for the king-sized mattress, so wouldn't tuck in securely. The decor of the rooms tried too hard to present a bygone era of grandeur, in my and my daughter's opinions. Very heavy bedspreads and curtains with many dark old paintings and portraits. The result was a bit gloomy!

The welcome from the car park! in met us in car park ! Sean everything was exceptional,! the young people on duty Thursday to Saturday especially the Ukrainian young lady and in deed all the young people, friendly smiling, asking us if we ok . The young person cleaning the rooms on our floor 216 helped us down with bags on sat My husband heart conditions so most Greatful , the music each evening the beautiful room the relaxed yet attention to detail old world class, the welcome we received from Linda thanks

All was good

We loved the setting and the overall decor in the hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Dinner was very good and breakfast was also very high standard.

We found our bedroom very dark even in the morning and afternoon. I don't think that green is a good colour for the carpet - it made the whole room dark. We were able to see into some of the other rooms while they were being cleaned, they were much brighter. Reading at night time was a problem as the bed side lights were not bright enough - I had to use my phone light and that was awkward. We assumed that breakfast was included in the price - it was very pricey considering we had to pay extra for breakfast.

Bed covers need to be updated more fresh and just sheets and a duvet. Need to get rid of blankets.
