Top-Lage des Hotels in der historischen Altstadt, im Erdgeschoss das Wirtshaus mit guter Küche und gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Das Hotel verfügt wegen der Lage in der Altstadt über keinen einzigen Pkw-Einstellplatz. Man ist aufs Parkhaus angewiesen (moderate 7 Euro am Tag), mit Gepäck ein wenig problematisch auf dem sechsminütigen Weg auf gepflasterten Stiegen.

Das Hotel ist ruhig gelegen und befindet sich unmittelbar in der Altstadt von Hattingen. Die Sauberkeit in Zimmer und Bad war nicht zu beanstanden. Das Bad war mit einer großen Duschkabine bestückt, deren Boden aber ziemlich glatt war. Hier sollten vielleicht rutschhemmende Aufkleber angebracht werden. Das Frühstück war völlig ausreichend mit Kaffee oder Tee, Milch, Orangensaft, einer Auswahl an Brötchen, Croissants, frischem Obst, Eiern, Müsli sowie verschiedenen Marmeladen, Käse und Wurstaufschnitt.

Die "Rezeption" ist gleichzeitig der Tresen des Restaurants, was etwas ungewöhnlich ist. Man betritt zum Einchecken also das Restaurant, erhält allerdings dann den Zimmerschlüssel, der gleichzeitig den Zugang über den Seiteneingang unmittelbar zu den Zimmern ermöglicht. Man muss also nur einmal den Weg über das Restaurant zu den Zimmern nehmen. Aufgrund der zentralen Lage müssen die meisten Gäste leider auf einen hotelnahen Parkplatz verzichten. Ein öffentliches Parkhaus ist fußläufig in 5-10 Minuten zu erreichen. Die Parkgebühr beträgt dort € 7 pro 24 Stunden. Unser Zimmer war ausreichend groß, verfügte aber über keine geschlossenen Schränke. Zur Aufbewahrung der Kleidung und anderer Gegenstände gab es dafür ausreichend offene Regale, allerdings standen uns lediglich 2 Kleiderhaken zur Verfügung.

The location is amazing, in the middle of old Hattingen. The restaurant is lively, very good German food and amazing for a drink, with or without kids. The hosts were very helpful, both during dinner time as well as breakfast. The hotel room was clean, spacious and modern. We will definitely come back.

The staff was very kind and helpful, everything was perfectly cleaned and the room was wonderful and cozy. The location is also perfect, right in the beautiful old centre of Hattingen. It’s calm and really amazing. Restaurant in the hotel is also very delicious with kind staff and the breakfast was great too- many good options. One of the best stays ever and I’m already looking forward the next visit!

We stayed in Hattingen while visiting friends nearby. The hotel was very comfortable, quiet and friendly. Great German style breakfast including boiled eggs and fresh rolls and meats and cheeses. The bar was a fun place to hang out in after we returned to the hotel. All staff was very friendly!!

The location was amazing, right in the centre of the old part of town and we had a wonderful view over the main terrace and of the church. As it was such a compact part of the city, there were great choices for restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel had its own lively restaurant so we really were spoiled for choice. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was hearty and satisfying with a decent enough choice.

The price was a little higher than I was used to before covid, but perhaps this is just the new reality and the fact that it was a triple room. All in all, we were very happy with our stay.
