Beautiful garden with nice swimming pool. A lot of animals in the garden: big iguanas, sloth, agutis, red/mint frogs. Very helpful and nice host. Room is exactly as described. Location is in front of playa Negra and few restaurants, about 1 km from Cahuita center where more restaurants can be found. Tip1: look for a sloth on electric cables while going back from Cahuita in the evening - we saw one very close :) Tip2: Take mosquito repelent going to cahuita NP and don't take any snacks in plastic bags.

amazing garden and nice pool. brilliant location opposite a nice quiet surfing beach and close to some good beach bars. comfy bed and good shower. nice private patio for breakfast.

didn’t realise some rooms didn’t have air con, so check before you select rooms. quite a long walk to town centre (20-25 mins)

Beautiful and private guesthouse. The gardens and stunning and full of wildlife. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Great location on the beach and near town. We loved the pool as well.

This is fantastic oasis right at the beach. a beautiful garden with nice swimming pool and if you are lucky several animals around.. we saw a couple of sloth, small frogs, several birds. several options for restaurants close by. nice breakfast place also very close, but if you wish you could make your own. I wish we had found this place earlier because we certainly would have booked more nights!

We stayed two days at Playa Negra Guesthouse and it was perfect! The hosts are very friendly and give a tour arround their property to show you the pool, the garden and the animals that live there - we saw many frogs, birds and even a baby-sloth which lives in the treas. The room was clean with everything we needed, even a coffee maker and extra beach towels. It was a pleasure to wake up every morning and hear the waves nearby, the beach is just across the street (a small street with not lot of traffic). There are restaurants nearby, we recomand the "Reggea Bar" for dinner and "Brigittes ranch" for breakfast, you can easily reach everything in a very short walk. We also went to Cahuita National Park which is about 15 Minutes per foot and very beautiful and we had a ride with "Brigittes Ranch". There are several attracions are nearby - or you just enjoy the beautiful beach, garden and restaurants and "Pura Vida"! It would definetly recomand it!

Marise, Pierre & their team have thought of every little detail to try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We were so impressed that we wanted to extend our stay, but they were fully booked.

The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and full of trees that attracted local wildlife like sloths and toucans. Pool area was pristine and the the hotel very secure.

The most amazing place- saw lots of wildlife in the garden and just across the road from the beach.

Having already had a wonderful stay at Playa Negra Guesthouse a year and a half ago, we knew that we wanted to come back this year as well. Our short time at Playa Negra Guesthouse was once again unforgettable and wonderful, especially because of the well-maintained property and the many animals in and around the garden.

We loved this place! The decor was gorgeous, we had a lovely veranda overlooking the garden, it felt really safe and friendly, great location right on the beach, near to restaurants and short walk into town. Would highly recommend!

The cherry on top would be including breakfast, but it wasn’t a big problem as the owner gave recommendations for places to get breakfast

Our host was lovely, the grounds were beautiful, our room was very clean and just what I was hoping it would be like, and the Playa Negra Beach was right across the street. Plus Cauita is a wonderful small town. it's charming, friendly and felt very safe. If you get to stay at Playa Negra Guesthouse you're very lucky!

Less than 10 mins walk into Cahuita, really quiet at night so slept very well. Pool was amazing, as was the setting and garden. Rooms were simple, but very clean & had a TV with Netflix on which was great for rainy days. Our favourite place to eat was Soda Kawe. The beaches in the national park were truly amazing and it's easy to make a day out of walking in the park. The hotel was only about 15 mins away from the entrance. The host was really helpful and approachable, booking taxis for us when needed etc. Would definitely stay again!

Playa Negra Guesthouse was a perfect place to relax. The beach is super close and there's an abundance of flora and fauna all around you. The pool and gardens were fantastic. Lots of nearby restaurants and bars to choose from. Staff are lovely and helpful.

Bed was a bit hard to sleep on. Noise from nearby bars might be an issue in the evenings.

The location was fabulous right by the sea and close to the national park. There was a pool and some lovely gardens which we did not have the pleasure of using due to oy stays two nights. Apparently there is lots of wildlife in the gardens. The owner was very welcoming, friendly and gave us a tour when we arrived. She gave us her WhatsApp number so that we could stay in touch during our stay for more information. The room was big and with a lovely terrace.

We woke up with many mosquito bites which I know is a result of living amongst the great outdoors but maybe could do with nets to prevent this.

Right across the street from the beach. Easy walk into town.

Beautiful, well maintained grounds, full of wildlife. The pictures don't do it justice. Pool area was amazing and metres from the beach. There are a couple of bars and restaurants very close by. Marise and Pierre were super welcoming hosts.

If I had to pick something the bed was a little soft. But that's only minor and down to personal taste.

Paid for small double room as only one available but felt it was pretty small and could have had more space in bathroom for kettle, toaster etc. Was a bit mixed up with toiletries. Would have been great if breakfast was offered at pool area
