Great location for hiking. Beautiful view. Good restaurant on site.

Very hot in the summer. There is no A/C, no cross breeze in the rooms. Shower is open to bedroom so taking a shower adds to the heat. There was not a fan either. Just very warm and uncomfortable to sleep if the temperature during the day is warm.

Lovely family run hotel complete with onsite restaurant and massage facility. Beds were comfortable and rooms were very clean.

There was no tea/coffee facilities in the room or fridge.

The room was a bit small, didn’t have a place ti even open our luggage. The shower was small, the shower head kept turning away and the shower curtain kept sticking to me.

Breakfast was very good. The position was ideal for us walking in both AI and AR. Very nice and fiendly cats

It was a bit difficult to understand why the hotel restaurant was closed on Wednesday and Thursday, particularly when there was no tea or coffee making possibility in the room. And why this during the autumn Sportferien?

The room were very good, comfortable and clean. There were a large balcony. Friendly staff. They have a restaurant, with a good selection, also vegetarian options. There is parking in front of the hotel.

The owner’s English was very limited. At the breakfast buffet, they had a limited selection, and they were not the best at refilling.

Clean, comfortable room. Great location for Appenzell hikes. Warm and communicative staff. Very nice breakfast spread.

The church across the street rang its bell every hour even in the middle of the night…and woke us up at 2am, 3am, 4am….

I have stayed in the property for many many times and it was always great. The hotel rooms are newly renovated and it is clear that the owners are constantly improving the property and thinking of guests staying there. What is really exceptional is the restaurant run by the owner himself - the food is really extraordinary there (not only typical Swiss cuisine, but also international on amazing level). The breakfast is superb and so it the view from the windows.

Not my first stay, would return again, food is excellent, people are just great. Location for going walking is perfect.

There is nothing to dislike here!

hiking trails near the hotel. very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant serves 10/10 michelin standard food and services better than burgenstock spa resort.
