Comfortable rooms, good location, nice staff, maximum value for money.

The pizza that I paid extra for dinner was absolutely delicious and was rapidly made.

My room was too much warm when I arrived, the building felt outdated and there was a constant noise disturbing in part my sleep.

The staff is exceptionally helpful. I stayed at La Vela with my 92 years old mother who has difficulty walking and the staff was immediately ready and available to help from check in. The view from the room is breathtaking

The only criticism is that the Queen bed and big heater didn’t allow much room for my mom to move around with her walker. Also being American I love screens and A/C not available in the room. Thank

This is an entirely pleasant, if not outstanding, hotel on the outskirts of Trento. Built in a kind of ranch style over two floors in an ‘L’ shape. While the building is a bit ‘sixties’ in style and, in parts, appears a little tired, the staff make up for this. The service from arrival to the restaurant and bar is uniformly of a high standard. Our family room was clean, reasonably spacious and comfortable. Some rooms boast a balcony – but not ours – and all have a mountain view as the Dolomites are all around. The restaurant provides excellent and good value pizzas and a good number of other dishes – but I cannot comment as we all ordered pizzas. Although, seeing other customers’ orders, all the food looked very good. And, as previously mentioned, the service was very good. The buffet style breakfast offered a reasonable choice although dominated by sweet foods. Again, the service was efficient. A version of this review appears on www.undercoverofthewrite.com

I mentioned that the interior looked a little ‘tired’ - chipped and faded paint and, at the point where you access the stairs there were laundry baskets and other hotel equipment. The location, while close to the motorway (we could see it from our window) suffers from the extraordinarily convoluted Italian road systems so common throughout the country that getting to it from the motorway – and finding your way back to it – is a major challenge. Make sure your SatNav is up to date if you’re driving! Also, the space the hotel occupies is strictly limited and so parking bays have been designated in every available space around the building and in an underground car park. Some of these can be awkward to get in and out of; drivers of large SUVs beware!
