The very nice building with beautiful rooms sits in the middle of the charming old town, close to everywhere you might want to go in Nafplio. The host and staff are friendly, welcoming and professional - the level of service was the best we experienced in Greece, and that is saying something, considering the outstanding hospitality of Greeks in general. The breakfast served by friendly staff in a small breakfast bar downstairs was very tasty and great value for money. You cannot drive into the old town, but just a few minutes away on foot there is a huge, free and safe parking in the port.

We expected this so we did not really mind it - the area gets quite noisy in the evenings, with all the bars, restaurants and shops. The host provides comfortable, soft ear plugs. There was a drain in a very inconvenient place on the bathroom floor, and its cover kept slipping off when you moved around there, creating a potentially dangerous hole.

If you want to stay in the heart of Nafplio, this is the place! Very nice vintage decoration. Feels like traveling in time.

Friendly welcome, kettle in room, room was enormous and comfortable. Lovely bathroom. Everything very clean. Breakfast was in breakfast bar just outside the pension - excellent.

Pension is on a pedestrian only street, so parking is on the seafront about 200m away. You can unload and load nearer, but parking is not onsite.

The warm hospitality extended by Poly, the inviting ambience and scent of Christmas infused into the whole place! What a welcome!

The steep flight of steps but the charm of place over-rides this back breaking feat (tip:bring small luggages only). Some levels of music till late but tolerable.

A lovely historic property in a very central and convenient location. My room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with crisp white bedlinen and the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in ages. Hosts Poly and Dimitris made me feel very welcome and as a solo traveler enhanced my stay beyond words. My thanks to them for their kind hospitality.

Rooms are in a historic building in the heart of Napflio oldtown. Restaurants, bars, cafes are only a few steps away. The place certainly has an atmosphere. Our room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast in a cafe downstairs was great. The reception lady was very helpful.

If you come by car please mind the place is in a limited traffic zone and you need to park by the port - 5 minute walk from the property. Our windows were facing a busy street but when we closed them in the evening the noise did not disturb us sleeping.

Nice hotel in the middle of the town. It gave you an "at home" feeling.

Loved Athaia so much! I had a street facing room and was a little worried that noise would be an issue, but once everything was closed up, I slept like a baby. The room was large and comfortable with a mini fridge and coffee fixings. Loved sitting on the balcony with my morning coffee. Breakfast was wonderful! Staff were very friendly and ready to help with tips for things to see and do and restaurants to try.

the location impresses you first, nestled in the old town in a wealth of shops and restaurants. the welcome from the hosts was great and reflects the lovely people in this area who can’t do enough for you! the pension it’s self was lovely and clean, and decorated in keeping with the building and area,

I would strongly recommend the Althaia Pension with its great location and very clean and comfortable rooms. My room was excellent and quiet (because it was on the light well, not the street). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything went well. And it has an excellent breakfast. I will certainly stay here again.

A bit difficult to reach by car but considering it is in the middle of the historic center, it is expected.

Staff at the reception was difficult to reach outside opening hours, even after sending a booking.com message. Staff also did not seem very professional. While I was paying, the person basically started answering questions of another guest and kept us waiting for a while.

What was there not to like?🙂 The location in the heart of the Old town, the two wonderful and helpful hostesses and a very cosy room.From the moment we had stepped in the pension, we felt it like home.

We liked everything! We would honestly recommend it to all people.
