After stepping through the red doors from a cobble stone village street, we were ushered into a world of coolness and peace. An impeccably presented studio overlooking a garden retreat filled with floral perfume and bird song… we were completely delighted!

We had a balcony in our studio room that was covered in wisteria still blooming in late May. The garden and pool area below were fragrant with jasmine and other flowers. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony for meals. The wisteria was so thick it was like a bird blind. There were so many birds visiting the garden I kept checking my bird guide. Herman and Carla were amazing hosts, always offering their help and knowledge of Trujllo to make our stay better. The studio was so cheerful and comfortable, lots of thought and care had obviously gone into the preparation for guests.

This is a perfect place to stay to explore Trujillo.

We travel frequently. The El Baciyelmo in Trujillo is one of the best apartment type overnight rentals we have ever stayed. The property is located near the central plaza and all of the main historical sites. The hosts live at the hotel and take excellent care of the facility. See their listing for extensive information about their studio apartments and the many attractions in Trujillo and the surrounding area. Following our arrival, they provided a tour of our studio and information about Trujillo. Learning that we were interested in walking, they gave us directions for a route around the outside of the Castle and town walls. Once outside in the vehicle-free north side of town, we took a marvelous walk into the pastoral countryside. Learning that we are birders, our hosts advised us to visit a nearby national park known for it's raptors where we had a great day after our departure. The owners also have access to a nearby private parking garage where guest's cars may be parked for a small fee upon advance request. Parking tbh uhin Trujillo's medieval streets is tight and we were glad to be able to forget about our car. At El Baciyelmo, each apartment is different so they can meet a range of needs. Additionally guests have access to a central courtyard and garden area.

The property owners were extremely friendly and helpful. My room was upgraded and I was given valuable tips on good restaurants. Great location in a wonderful town! Also, Herman picked me up and dropped me off at the bus station. Wifi was excellent! Thank you.

Room was huge, property was beautiful and hosts were super nice and super helpful.

Location was excellent, 5 mins walk to main square. Secure car parking is available for a small supplement in a garage just down the street. Comfy large bed, good shower, fridge and basic cooking facilities. Outdoor covered terrace with seating to enjoy a glass of wine listening to the birds in the garden. The hosts are amazing. They definitely try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We’ve stopped in loads of places in Europe and they are the best we’ve had.
