What a fabulous setting! Beautiful resoration, and lovely pool and spa! The rooms are so well appointed, and the best bit is the food. The restaurant quite superb. Cannot recommend it more highly. A delightful place to stay, rest and enjoy.

Beautiful short stay in this impressive former abbey building, excellent supper, comfy bed, hot bath, pets welcome, historic and scenic area of France to explore and discover.Highly recommended.

The swimming pool and jacuzzi in a historical renovated building were wonderful and very relaxing. The dinner was very, very good and its value for money great. The room was cosy and comfortable. We had a great stay!

Nothing special, the only thing that we did not find exceptional was the breakfast, as there was no homemade food.

Lovely country location yet not unreasonably far from towns.

The restaurant was closed the two nights we were there. The on-site restaurant was a big reason we chose the hotel as it meant we wouldn't need to drive to dinner. They offered a reduced menu of things like cheese and meat boards, but it still was a disappointment not to have a broader list of dinner options.

Gorgeous, shabby chic style hotel - authentic, French experience in a beautiful old building. Soap shop is an added bonus, lots of beautiful goodies that make great gifts.

Bathrooms need an update.

We enjoyed our stay at Le Domaine de Mestre. Our room was large and nicely furnished and the location very peaceful. Our evening meal in the pretty garden was relaxing, nicely served and very enjoyable. Breakfast in the barn very good too. We particularly enjoyed visiting the soap shop.

This is a very old and charming farm-soap factory-museum and now hotel in the countryside about 1.5 miles from the Loire. It has been with the same family for over 200 years. The rooms are old (like a monastery of which it was a part centuries ago) but comfortable and clean. The staff is great. There is a lovely indoor pool. The petit dejeuner is excellent - more than worth the price. The Loire villages are very close but you do need a car. A restaurant on site serves a lovely dinner each night made with local ingredients at a very fair price. The soap boutique (they make it there) is unique. You can rent bikes in the village of Montsoreau at La Petite Reine.

Rooms are not air conditioned - weather was hot but walls thick and they gave us a fan. Guest are majority French and European if that matters to you.

Everything about this place was amazing, location, room, food and service. Would definitely recommend!
