Mooie locatie, in potentie een mooi hotel maar helaas wordt dit niet benut.

Ter afsluiting van onze 3 weken in Sri Lanka gunden wij onszelf een luxe overnachting. Vanwege de goede reviews (lyrisch over het personeel, locatie, faciliteiten) boekten wij hier. Wij hebben dit echter niet mogen ervaren. Kregen het idee dat het “personeel” niet echt personeel was en er een paar willekeurige mensen waren neergezet wegens weinig boekingen. Er was van gastvrijheid niet te spreken. Er werd ons niets uitgelegd over de ruimtes, het ontbijt, wifi, zwembad (gebruik van handdoeken bijv.), etc. Ook was het personeel nergens te bekennen wanneer wij een vraag hadden en bij het uitchecken leek het alsof ze niet wisten wat ze aan het doen waren en communiceerden ze niet helder (we waren 10 minuten aan het wachten en hadden geen idee of ze voor ons bezig waren of met wat anders). Verder mag je van een hotel in deze prijsklasse een betere afwerking verwachten. Zo zat de wc-bril los en was de douche onmogelijk af te stellen en was het water kokend heet of ijs koud. Kortom, erg teleurstellend.

Very good breakfast and friendly hosts! We also had a nice dinner. The pool was very clean and they provided extra towels. Also beautiful surroundings and we liked the outdoor bathroom.

Our bungalow was very humid and even had moisture spots in the wall. We left the door open to have some fresh air in the room.

Amazing stay here! Beautifully decorated rooms, so spacious and so clean. The staff here are fantastic - Palitha was so attentive, friendly and polite and couldn’t do enough to help us. He helped us arrange laundry and a massage, as well as a packed breakfast for our early departure. He was amazing. The chef Esan is also brilliant - we ate here for breakfast and dinner every day during our stay. The food is all cooked fresh and so delicious. We would highly recommend ordering the Sri Lankan breakfast the night before - delicious! The hotel has a lovely pool and sun loungers which we enjoyed each morning and a fabulous chill out area where we sat and watched the sunset at night. The hotel sits about 15 mins walk away from the beach but we enjoyed the tranquility of the place and the chance to see local life away from the Main Street. We would highly recommend this place if you’re staying in Unawatuna.

Nothing - everything is fabulous

I loved the location, I have stayed here twice before, pre covid. It is beautiful. The food served is also great, I had pancakes for breakfast, and the fruit platter, both delicious. I also had the dahl for dinner a few times, this was delicious. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

I had an issue with my room, and asked to move straight away, but they weren't able to move me until my last evening. I explained that there was a monitor lizard living in the ceiling above my bathroom, there was a rotten area of wood and it's feet could often be seen hanging down. There was also quite a lot of leaf debris and other insect debris and gecko life in the bathroom. I got used to sharing my room with the wildlife in the end, but it wouldn't be for everybody, so I feel they need to make the repairs to this ceiling to make the bathroom a pleasant room to use. When I was moved, the bedlinen wasn't clean, a pillow had obviously been used as it had greasy marks on it, at this point I couldn't be bothered to report it back to them. The coffee table in my room hadn't been cleaned and has drinks marks all over it. The bench seating cushions were old, not very clean and twisted and just needed washing and putting on properly. I straightened them up a bit myself! I think the hotel has obviously been hard hit by the economic situation in Sri Lanka, but these little things wouldn't cost much to fix, and would make a big difference. Overall the place is lovely, and I don't like to leave a bad review, but I feel the cleaner was getting a bit careless. All of the staff I met were lovely though.

Fantastic stay and the hotel manager and staff were very supportive. The place is surrounded by nature and was pleasant peaceful stay. Would recommend this and stay again.

The staff are very sweet! We got upgraded and the room and grounds are gorgeous! It’s away from the beach but I still recommend staying here, great place for relaxing and recharging. Food was also good!

When we went down to the pool there were no towels and it obviously hadn’t been cleaned from the night before, there were beer bottles and leaves in the pool. Didn’t bother us just a note to say!
